  1. I certainly couldn't be classed as an expert in anything but if the Captain of SoD did not enter BoB on that day then surely the outcome could have been different, of course he was under pressure to get the ship back to Portsmouth in time for it's 30 day Caribbean cruise.
  2. I think you will find that @Windsurfboy and others have actually said that Saga should have waited for the storm to pass and not as you say, gone earlier.
  3. If you were on the the ship, i wonder if you would be making that statement.
  4. We got off Elizabeth two weeks ago today, she was sailing on one week cruises out of Barcelona from September, all of them were full and she was pretty much full when leaving for Singapore last week.
  5. I think they would use a trolly to transport food and drinks to the cabins, carrying trays in those conditions would be extremely difficult.
  6. We are also on this sailing and have just checked and it is still showing as hotel TBD for us to.
  7. There are also areas on Voyager, again towards the stern that also suffer from vibration. Many cruise ships suffer with this, we had an aft suite on Queen Elizabeth last week and this also had quite noticeable amounts of vibration at times.
  8. We were also on this voyage but only in a Q6, our suite 4195 was quite uncomfortable, not the actual suite, that was fine but the clunking and shuddering was at times was quite unbearable. Can not remember noticing this in the aft suites on Victoria but had seen this mentioned on these boards before embarking, regarding the aft suites, we did try to change to a midship Q3 before sailing but was told that this was not possible. [ although1 suite was showing as available according to the website at the time ] We also got a bottle of Pirie Sparkling on embarkation while others got the Laurent Perrier, while talking to the Concierge the next day this was mentioned and he said he would look into this for us, a bottle of the Champagne appeared in our suite later that day. No chocolate turn down service at all but did receive 2 Pink Himalayan Salted Caramel & Strawberry truffles on the first 2 day's. The 10% IVA Tax did add a substantial amount to our bar bill but Cunard did not add the 21% IVA tax on anything bought from the shops. While the actual food is, in our opinion, no better than some other lines but as we have said before on other threads on these boards we still think that Queens Grills is still the best dining experience at sea. Our only disappointment was missing our call to Ajaccio [ of course out of Cunard's hands ] as this was the only Port on this cruise we have not been to before, apart from that we had a wonderful cruise.
  9. We had a lovely 2 weeks. Unfortunately now sitting in Barcelona Airport with a near 3 hour delay, meaning we miss our connecting flight back to Norwich.
  10. A man left the Queens Grill wearing shorts last night, admittedly it was the last night of the cruise, although as far as I am aware the dress code is still in place.
  11. Got off Queen Elizabeth this morning and the person with the most number of nights had done over 3,000 but I can’t remember exactly how many it was.
  12. You can find the Port arrival/departure times on Cunard’s Spanish website : cunardcruceros.com.
  13. Nor indeed in Feb 2020 when we had 15 straight sea days and ended up in Perth Australia instead of Hong Kong, There were quite a number of passengers, who shall we say were a bit miffed by this, one of those, was a lady from the tv series Benidorm, who took to the tv/press about it.
  14. That may well be very true but when mistakes/accidents happen, surely someone must be taken into account and reimburse you for your loss. It was most certainly not the passengers fault their luggage ended up in the sea.
  15. As you say, us in the UK can certainly get the air. Perhaps you should ask Regent if there is any reason why you folks in the States, can't.
  16. On our cruise on Splendor last month if you wished to have Fever Tree Tonic with your Gin, you only had to ask.
  17. Are you saying that all the time slots were taken, or that the time you preferred was not available? I don't know if there is any specific reason why you wish to eat in a speciality restaurant on a sea day but on a 25 night cruise you will have no difficulty in getting, not just one reservation but you should have no problem in getting more than one, if wanted [while on board] that is, if you are not set on it being on a sea day or at a specific time. You just may need to be a little bit flexible, with your dates and timings.
  18. @Whipsnade If i thought like you, when you say that all food onboard all cruise lines is "mediocre" and that bread, as you say is “Feh!!” i would probably have to think too myself that maybe cruising is not for me and that i should look elsewhere to spend my money on. Having last month, just come off two cruises one on Regent, the other on Saga and now going for 2 weeks in Queens Grill on Queen Elizabeth then i can only think that i really must be a glutton for punishment.
  19. @Whipsnade I have only been on RCL once, many years ago and have no plans to return, so i don't know how good/or not their bread is.Yes, maybe i am a bit gullible as i do tend to believe what i read/hear but why would RCL give false information out in writing if it is not true, i don't know, maybe i am just to trusting. Another bit of googling came up with this: With buffet options for anytime dining and premium dining establishments, having fresh bread available is essential. It obviously depends on the cruise line, but most chefs bake breads onboard, three times each day — using up to 1,500 pounds of flour daily. How could they use 1500lbs of flour daily if it was pre-made and frozen before being brought onboard, as you say.
  20. A quick google search revealed this: On Royal Caribbean ships, every baked good is made from scratch every day so when guests sit at the table, they get the freshest of breads and pastries possible. The only thing better than the aroma, is the taste.
  21. @exlondoner Of course you are correct, i don't know any cruise line sailing today who do not restock with supplies at the start of any new cruise.
  22. Thank you, i missed that, obviously everyone are entitled to their own opinion on this forum and rightly so, mine just differs to his.
  23. Exactly, i asked Whipsnade in post 204 with what cruise lines is he comparing QG's so called mediocre food with, as of yet he has not replied to my post.
