  1. I guess I got lucky. I bought a $1,000 egift card 2 days ago. Now I see they're gone again. They'll be back in a week or 2.
  2. Actually I don't think they did on the water(I could be wrong though), people just noticed it.
  3. That could be true, any future problems and he was forewarned. If he had caused any other problems than maybe he would get fined. I guess they need to give out warnings first.
  4. On my recent MG cruise, a friend of mine got a bit tipsy while in San Juan port. He happened to have lost his voice that day, which we noticed was going away the day before. Anyway, he was swaying a little while getting back on board. Security asked if he was ok, which he nodded that he was, I'm sure his wife told them he lost his voice, but not because of drinking, but they probably didn't buy that story, even though it was true. But as long as his wife was taking care of him they let him carry on. The next day he couldn't use his s&s card so went to guest services, they told him security needed to speak to him. He went into a back room w/a member of security. He came out about 10-15 mins later and told us what happened. He had to write an apology paragraph promising not to be drunk again. Lol, reminds me of 5th grade. But, that was the end of it. We frequently go on Paradise and see drunk people all the time. My friend did not cause any trouble w/anyone or raise his voice to anyone(he couldn't even talk).
  5. And if I'm not mistaken, if you can check in 16 days out, you must be Platinum or Diamond status. In that case, it doesn't matter what time you pick because you'll already be able to cut in front of the line.
  6. I recently tried out a new strategy where I did remove my gratuities as I wanted to give out my own gratuities as I went. I bring on well over $100 in 1's and at least $50 in 5's just to start out. I gave my room steward $20 on the 1st day and asked to have ice each day in my small cooler(now whether or not he kept it, I don't know, he wouldn't have known I was going to pull my tips back at that time). This was on my last cruise on Mardi Gras, I actually only saw my rm steward maybe 2 or 3 times tops, we did see another guy more often that I didn't get an introduction from. I did give another $40 on the last day anyway. I also tipped most everywhere I went, and after every meal(never ate in the MDR). I also leave money(at least $3) every time I eat at the buffet where someone will pick up my dishes(they always seem surprised and really appreciate that. I give $5 to the pizza guy if I order a pizza. I've given money to the guest services crew if they help me. I give anywhere from $2-$5 for any drink I order. I'm sure I gave out at least as much as I had removed. But I didn't realize not all of them get to keep the money I give them especially if they know I pulled my tips back. Thanks to this thread, and the other one, I think I'll go back to the auto tip process in the future, plus everyone on here making me feel like a cheapskate for pulling my gratuities. It would probably be easier on me anyway, as now I won't have to be as generous.
  7. Just attended my 1st P&D party on Mardi Gras last week. They had all drinks lined up outside the entrance and handed you a glass of your choice(beer, wine, or rum punch). I did sit towards the back and was able to walk out and get another drink. And then when the little dog & pony show was over, they were handing out everything that was leftover on the way out.
  8. I suggest calling carnival and see what it would take to transfer the rm into your son's name using his casino deal. It may not be as good, and you may have to pay a little more, but I don't see why they wouldn't let him keep the same rm.
  9. Try logging out and log back in, that's what I had to do. I couldn't see them at first either.
  10. I did not notice any sushi in the Lido buffet, not saying there isn't, I just never saw it when I went. They do have sushi right across from casino. My wife and I usually eat there at least once. I can't remember the name of it, I'm sure others can answer that. There is a small fee for it, but it's not too bad. And I've never had the sushi in MDR.
  11. I was just on Paradise in December. We had a great time, service was great. We had a better time on this cruise than we did a month earlier on the Magic. It was just a fun atmosphere. Had no issues with the food, but we're easy to please. It is still a great ship and in great condition.
  12. We had spa interior on the Magic in early November. It did seem a little busy the first couple of days, but I think the novelty of it wears off, as it gets less crowded towards the second half of the trip. We also have a spa interior on the Mardi Gras in January to try out.
  13. Do you think they will update the TV's to larger ones(if not already done, I cannot remember) or add USB ports in the rooms(also, if not already done)?
  14. We were on the Magic about 2 months ago and Paradise last week. A few things I noticed about each ship. Of course we all know that Magic is much bigger and newer than Paradise, and from my recollection, Paradise got a makeover in either 2018 or 19, I can't remember exactly. Anyway, last week on the Paradise we had the coldest room we've ever been in, it was awesome, even had to turn it down a little. When we were on the Magic, we had to ask for a fan. We actually asked for one on the Paradise expecting the worst, but never even used the fan as it was too cold, we loved it cold. Next, on the Magic, I think our TV was a 19", possibly 20" TV. I know everyone says you shouldn't be in your rm watching TV, well, I like watching it before I go to sleep, or while I'm waiting on my wife to get ready. On the Paradise, our TV must have been a 55" or no smaller than a 50" tv, it was really huge. Also, the Paradise has USB ports on both sides of the bed, and at the sitting desk, the Magic doesn't have any ports at all. I guess the upgrade Paradise went through must have added these smaller items, I'm sure the Pride will probably get these upgrades also. We had a great time on both ships. Just a few comparisons from an older ship to a newer ship that I wasn't expecting or may not have noticed unless I had recently been on both of them.
  15. I'm not really sure how that would work. Luckily I haven't had any issues with my mail in awhile, knocking on wood.
  16. I ordered 2 $500 gift cards a few weeks ago, they sent them USPS.
  17. I'm not sure you would have made it by cutoff time anyway. The cards they had on there were the mailed cards, not the ecards. I bought some last week, I wanted the ecards, but all they had were the mailed cards, that's what I got.
  18. Get to know and use the kiosks on board. I've used them for about the past 5 or 6 cruises. I have different denominations of GC and I'll add them to my acct as need be. If I walk by a kiosk and someone is using it, I'll just come back later.
  19. I had a friend that was on that cruise. I thought she told me something about getting $200 obc and some sort of future cruise credit. She was on the cruise to nowhere. Is that the same one?
  20. We were on the Magic also, and I have the same experience as others. They never asked me for my vax card, I offered it, but she didn't need it. They didn't ask for it either when getting off in GT. But, I was wondering since I have already been on a few cruises this past year, if they just have my vax card on file, and that's why they didn't need to see it? Oh, and we starting getting sick on our last day. Both me & my wife took a covid test and both were negative. Just got a cold probably.
  21. I msgd Advance Car Rental and was also quoted $125 for a midsize car. I really only want to go to one place and wanted to compare renting a car vs taking a taxi. I think I'll just take the taxi.
  22. Also, no crown royal served on the ships, but you can buy it in the fun shop.
  23. I have 4 future cruises booked, all under a casino rate deal. I tried 2 different times to get my credit, but was turned down both times. Oh well.
