We had our daughter’s two kids for the day, while she went to her appointment at Cleveland Clinic.
The grandkids agreed to do whatever Susan wanted to do, because today was her birthday.
We started out with breakfast out, then took them swimming at our health club. After a couple hours of swimming, it was time for lunch. We ended up here.
Still working on that duck collection, and they were nice enough to bring a couple more for the kids.
Happy Birthday to Susan!

Almost as fun as logging on at midnight to get an early boarding time, I had to log on at 6 am this morning to get my Disney dining reservations for August.
Yes, I really know where I want to eat, and what time I want to eat, that far in advance!
Now to revise my spreadsheet, because I had to change days for some of them to get a decent time.
I can’t wait for the joy of booking rides!
I had to check in for our Celebrity cruise this morning, but X's website and app are down. Will try later.

Thank you so much, Arzeena!🥰
Thank you!😘 It was from the bug that was in my eye. I went to the eye doctor the next morning and he prescribed antibiotic eye drops, but my eye went from irritated to huge stye both under and on top of my eyelid. I was afraid my laser surgery for the following week might have to be postponed, but the surgeon said there'd be no problem with getting the laser done. (What a piece of cake that was!😉 you don't feel anything!!) Thank you for asking, Arzeena!
How have you been?
I am happy for you that all is good with you eye.
I am fine. Getting used to the Florida bugs and frogs!😁

Hope your eye feels good fast. Is it from that bug or your laser procedure? Did your surgeon prescribe drops?

We weren't sure when our truck would arrive when we moved so we used your strategy of buying a new bed. We thought about it in advance, picked out the bed in Cincinnati, and had it delivered the day after we arrived in Florida. We therefore only had one night in a hotel. We also had a TV delivered that day and bought 2 foldable beach chairs that we put in our great room. We lived that way for about a week before the truck arrived. This worked well for us because we were already in the market for a new bed and TV. We put our bed from Cincy in one of the guest rooms.
If you do plan to buy a bed, be prepared for sticker shock. Because you spend so much time in bed, we spent a little more to ensure that we sleep well. Our Sleep Number bed cost about $10K. You don't need to spend that much, but you'll probably want to spend at least $2-3K on a good mattress.
And I hear you on ceiling fans. We have one in every bedroom, one in our great room, one in our office, and 3 on our lanai. We don't have any in a closet though. 🤣
We too purchased the bed and mattress before we moved and had them delivered to our home in FL. Agree about sticker shock! It arrived before us. We packed all boxes and they just moved them from NJ to FL in trucks. Our movers also arrived before us in record setting 2 days. We had to have family in FL drive to our home and open for the movers and deliveries to be set up.
Had fans installed in two bedrooms, living room, office and lanai. Our house is much smaller, so not many were needed. None in closet either.

Looks like I ventured into the Florida departures thread by mistake. 😉 😄
Apologies.
But have been thinking, weighing the pros and cons of taking the train vs drive, hotel and park at port vs Drive to park at BL station/Uber, take train to and from FLL.

We have used AMTRAK from West Palm to go to Miami and Tampa - excellent pricing.
Hmmm. I guess I will research them next. Although to get an Amtrak I would have to go north to dtn Orlando, whereas the Brightline station is at the airport, which is closer to us. Google said it was a 20 minute drive, but I am not so certain.

I saw above a suggestion for measuring room sizes. To me they all look huge. I brought a flashlight but not my measuring thing... and I have several.,movers have all that. Cheap to buy another I know. I've seen both a lowes and a home depot between me and publix. I've had huge old historic houses, but these 2 are my first condos. And much newer and huge closets.. im so loving these big closets and so many.
I completely agree with the suggestion of measuring rooms or at least estimating the measurements some way (Floor plan prints?). If you go to HD or Lowes, get a one of the retractable tape measures.
You do not want to face the problem of buying furniture that will not fit or go in through the doors/openings.

Not yet. We are looking forward to trying Equinox. We actually cancelled a December 2024 Adventure sailing to make room for this one as soon as we found out X was putting the ship in PC.😇
IMHO you made the right choice picking EQ over Adventure. We love the Equinox and are happy she is going to be home ported in our home port for a while. But the cruises are all 7 days and one 3 or 4 day sailing.

Can't wait for this one !!!!
We calculated from Orlando to FLL and it is not cheap. It came out $398 for Smart and $478 for Premium, that not including luggage and rides to and from the station for the first one. There seemed to have been no "savings". We would love to try BL. Am I doing something wrong in calculating this?

That is Bahama Breeze in Pittsburgh. We stopped after dropping off our daughter and granddaughter at the airport. Bahama Breeze is part of the Darden Restaurant brand that also has Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, among others. The first one we ate at was in Ft. Lauderdale. I think it is a good place for both kids, and adults.
The prices aren’t too bad, and they didn’t seem to skimp on the alcohol.
Yes! I thought so. I have been to Bahama Breeze! I think I have not ordered that dish in the pineapple yet! It looks so good! We do have all those Daarden restaurants here. Next time its Pineapple Dish for me! 😁

There is a rooms to go across the parking lot that has a patio section I thought I would walk kver just to try and get some ideas of what things people are buying these days. I started over there last night and walked thru the Audi parking lot between me and the store to look at the hours on the door and all the sudden blasting out of speakers was you are intruding on private property. We have you on camera. Please contact with your number ... and they then blasted the same message about 6 times when I turned to walk back to the hotel. People said oh it's not you they just blast that message all the time. Sure got my attention. I wouldnt buy from them I'm sure, never heard anything good, but its sunday and I was just killing time today and saw them with a store out on the main street. A fold up chair or anything I can get in my car to sit on would sure be a help. Standing around and no place to sit down gets old fast. Only so much walking around the condo I can take until I just leave.
Jane,
We have bought from Rooms to Go, both in NJ and here. No complaints about furniture, scheduling or delivery and set up. Furniture has served us well.
