Has anyone stayed in Oceania Suite 12011?  Currently booked in a PH1 on deck 11 with the extended balcony.  I'd definitely pull the trigger for an aft suite as we love a big balcony so I'd like to know how the balcony is on this one in real life.  There just aren't many reviews online with photos or videos for specific cabins.

The balcony is reasonably wide but not deep.  It has a lounger.  The cabin is a lot larger than a penthouse.  If you are going on Vista, I find the new layout to be disappointing.  The Marina and Riviera Oceania Suite Layout is much nicer in my opinion.

Thank you! I just signed up for our cruise that’s leaving soon. I really like that it also shows the others ships in each port, too.

Don't get discouraged if most ports show rain.  I did one for our May cruise and it was showing a lot of rain.  More than half the ports we docked in said" you picked a great day" "we had rain yesterday"

We got lucky and seemed to be arriving just after the rain.  We ended up with mostly great weather.

Do the Concierge cabin extended balcony's on Vista have loungers on them?

There were no loungers on the extended concierge cabins on our May cruise on Vista and the people I know that asked for them were refused.  It may be because they didn't have any extra.  I would love to know if they can get them now.

    Yes. But.

To be a Brut, the addition of 6-12 g/l of sugar in the dosage is allowed. For Extra Dry, it’s 12-17 g/l. Some people’s Brut can be very near another’s Extra Dry in added sugar. Thus is the case of Germain.

Per Champagne regulations, the wine can only be made from three grape varieties:Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunière . Many champagnes use primary one or both of the first two, with sometimes 20% or less of the third. Germain uses only Chardonnay and Pinot Meunière . PM has and adds a very distinct flavor to the bubbly which many don’t particularly like. It’s large presence in Germain is one reason many don’t like it.

Add 1 & 2, and you have a very unpopular wine.

Thank you for that explanation.  That probably explains what I couldn't quite describe except to say I really don't like the taste.  What is in Monopole that they put in your cabin?  I don't mind it.

When the Regent crowd mutinied over Germain, I understand that they replaced it with Monopole

We just finished a B2B and became elite on the 2nd leg. We went the Captain Club desk, he added our latest points, then printed new ship cards, which say elite. The card is how the bartender knows not to charge.
Not a very good benefit for beer drinkers. Only choice was Heineken or Bud Light.

If you reach elite in the first few days of cruise, can you get Elite benefits for rest of cruise or does it not take effect until you go on another cruise? I've looked at all the FAQ but couldn't find an answer.

They had nothing as a real Champagne (French).  The best thing they had by the glass on the premium package was Chandon sparkling wine.

Cheapest by the glass was Perrier-Jouët at $22

Thanks.  I like your cc name.  That's what I say to everyone- I have to work to feed my cruising addiction.

    Hello,

    Miracles happen.

If you watch closely enough, Champagne, Prosecco and Sparkling Wine all come out of the same bottle!

Yes in May both Montaudon and Cattier had disappeared.   Supply chain issue.  Yea right, more like price issue.

What do they have by the glass?  Please don't tell me it's the awful Germain that Oceania has.

In 2021 booked an extended balcony cabin on Vista. After I made my final payment, Oceania changed our cabin to one without an extended balcony.

If you were booking the extended balcony to get a lounger, Vista isn't allowing a lounger on the extended balconies- at least that was the case on the May Vista cruise.  Penthouses do get 2 loungers on Deck 7.

I’m confused now! Has anyone stayed in Penthouse 7133 that can tell me if the Penthouse is the normal size? Sorry if I seem daft!

&133 and 7128 are normal size penthouses.  The 2 aft ph with wraparound balconies are 7130 and 7135.  They are about a foot narrower than the standard sized penthouse.  I move the table and chairs at end of bed to in front of love seat and remove small coffee table and chair.  The walk in closet is smaller than in 7128 and 7133.

In a PH 10045. The new layout of the room is very good. Moving the table

and chairs from the front of the bed is great, as well as the separate table. Eliminating the walk in closet was a horrible idea. I could write a page on this.  The benches at the foot of the beds are hazardous for the toes. Metal legs on all four corners with no cushioning. One must walk completely out and around them. Something one might forget on that 2:00 stroll to the head in the dark!

We moved the benches under the sideboard by the table.

I am so going to miss the Jacques cheese cart on Vista 😪. Any place on Vista that does have something similar so I can get my stinky cheese fix in lieu of a sweet dessert?

Yes there is. In Terrace they have some nice smelly cheeses that I never see here in Canada

Livarot and Munster(that's not a spelling error)  Nothing like Muenster.  Even the Brie is much better than anything at home.

Your name seems familiar to me, probably from my live thread on Riviera a couple years ago. Could you be the poster who knew so much about the cheese wheel? Also saw your name on one of the roll calls I joined this morning. We are hoping to put together a group for the wine pairing dinner (Odyssey preferable to Dom).

Good memory.  I love the creamy smelly cheeses.  It was Hambagahle that identified the Tete de Moine on that cart.  I had never heard of it.

The one unfortunate thing that was missing from our Odyssey menu on Vista was the French butter

2 Echire Salted Butter Cup, one wrapped, the other open, front view.

I’m afraid that horse is out of the barn. If O is again serving Germain, after an absence of doing so, I’m afraid that means they bought a huge quantity of it to enjoy for a long time! 😢

When have they served anything else, recently?  It's been Germain on all my cruises in the past few years.  July 22  Dec 22 and May23

Oceania does book the La Reserve dinners on specific nights. Max capacity is eight (8) people. To hold a dinner, all eight spaces have to be sold or the event is canceled. This is why putting together a group oneself is important, because otherwise they may not get enough signups.

That's what we did on the May 20th Vista cruise.  We were told min and maximum was 8 people.  When we arrived in Privee, the table was set for 10 people.  Communication seems to be an issue.

When you pay the Odyssey or Dom price for the meal, there is no $300 charge for the room.
