On that Riviera trip, getting tags at the pier would have been a nightmare as the whole embarkation process was just that.   The guy accepting luggage said they were the best tags he had ever seen.  😀

I used them on our recent Sirena cruise too, along with the ones that Oceania sent.

    Joe

I bet you will see a bunch of these on future trips.  I printed your template and I think we are on the same cruise next Nov from Rome.😀

  2. We anchor in Torbay on a Saturday Sep 2nd at 7am and leave at 5pm.  I am trying to figure out how to book the Round Robin Tour and I am not sure what my starting point should be

Cruise from Dartmouth to Totnes , bus to Paignton, train to Kingswear and ferry back to Dartmouth or the reverse.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Yeah, we did see that but as we all know, there are still some things that are not quite clear or finalized for Vista regarding the culinary.  We did already sign up for culinary classes so that sounds like "business as usual" at least for that.

I'm on the May 20th Vista.  I booked Privee by calling my travel agent to contact them for a date.  Previously I have been able to book Privee online.

Thanks Lyn.  We'll be making final payment shortly so I'll keep looking and waiting.

    I'm not sure how Lyn knows you are on Vista but if you are, it's unclear whether the usual La Reserve dinners other than the Dom Perignon one, will be offered.  They look like they will have some food and wine pairings(one is a lunch}

Thank you John Bull and Globaliser. I value your expertise. I left the flights as they were and will hope for the best. Thank you again!

@Pearl64  I am getting on Oceania Vista the day you get off.  I am arriving day of cruise which I don't normally do but with 4 non stop flights from Toronto, I think I will be okay. Who di you book your transfer with- maybe they will pick me up when they drop you off- I'm arriving at 10am.

About your departure time, in 2018 I got off Oceania at 7:30am and took a Smiths private car to Heathrow for a 12Noon flight and had no problems.

Yes.    The deposit is the only item in a NR.    If you cancel or change your reservation you are charged a $100 pp fee.    If cancel after the $100 pp the remainder is sent as a FCC that must be used within one year.

Many people pay the extra fee for a refundable deposit so they can change or cancel and get everything back.  I recently paid for a Refundable deposit for a cruise in 2024 -  Main reason was it is only a place holder to block the cabin and the room type and when I'm on my next cruise I plan on booking in onboard as a NR and then cancel my original refundable booking.

Thank you, Jim, for your kind response.  What you said makes sense.  I wasn't aware of the $100pp fee to change as well as cancel.

What confused me was why would someone pay an extra $832 to save $200 cash.

P.S. I love your Live From reports

I know it does not sound right but the claim is that you get a lower price for the cruise.   The non refundable part is $100 per person and the other $150 comes back in a future cruise credit so all is not lost.  We just went through all of this with family this am.

Thank you for your answer.  It seems that whoever is making the claim about the getting a lower price for the cruise failed their Math at school.

A few photos: foie gras with grilled pineapple (really excellent), my veal chop (cooked perfectly, but over salted), and an excellent and very well priced French red (when in Rome, so to speak. Ha!)

Thank you so much for posting live from Riviera.  As someone posted, the pics are "envy inducing"😀

Just to clarify, now there is no advantage to purchase in advance either beverage package. Whether pre cruise or on board the price is the same: $39.95 or $69.95 per day assuming one did NOT select the Olife beverage option. Correct??

Their discount for booking before getting on board has disappeared so you are correct;  there is no advantage now to buying the package prior to boarding.

They technically changed it as of the 1st sailings after the New Year.  It was publicized on the ship.

Obviously their slow to move internet department could not keep up.

The prices did change on Jan 1st but they also posted this around the same time and I know several people who took advantage of it.  This is what you would have seen up to a few days ago

After receiving different answers from Oceania reps, my TA contacted her Oceania Business Development Manager and they confirmed what you were told - $30 pp pd before you board to upgrade and $40 if you do it on the ship. Here's their reply:

Here is the accurate information reflecting the price changes with the drinks package

    Advance Purchase (Prior to Sailing)
$29.95 per guest, per day – House Select
$59.95 per guest, per day – Prestige Select

    Onboard Purchase
$39.95 per guest, per day – House Select
$69.95 per guest, per day – Prestige Select

That was on the site and just disappeared in the past few days

I have NEVER understood that room! lol....

I agree.  I think they have made some changes to that room on the new ship  The drawings on cruisedeckplans show a l shaped sofa bed and no coffee table.

I took my daughter with me on a cruise in anOceania suite.  I ordered the cot for that media room because the king bed can't be separated(unless it's for Jacques Pepin and his daughter) and I was hoping to have the bed to myself.

Didn't work too well.  The bed was wedged between the sofa and the desk and to get onto the bed you had to fling yourself forward like you were an acrobat.  Picture Patrick Swayze as the bed and Jennifer Gray doing that leap into his arms.

Needless to say it only happened for 1 night.

Checked FAQ and no info re purchasing before boarding only when onboard:  updated 9 Feb now $69.95.

You're right that it has disappeared from every section but it was there last week.  I know some who purchased the pkg at $59.95 and Orv and I both went to our accounts and added it to our cart.  I didn't follow through and I don't think he did either.

Part of the confusion over this is the different ways Oceania describes the cost of the upgrade, and whether it can be done before sailing or not. Both of these links are from their site, but they say two different things.

https://www.oceaniacruises.com/value#value-packages -This says it can be purchased before getting on board.

But this one says "once on board only":

    https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022271214-Can-I-upgrade-my-OLIFE-House-Select-Beverage-package-

One says $59.95, the other $69.95.

    Not sure which is true.

The purchase before boarding Offer has disappeared.
