  1. I'm on the CB this August. Not interested in the Plus package, as we are only looking at the soda/coffee package(s). Never even seen the Plus Package offered in the Cruise Personalizer. So my question still stands as to where to purchase beverage packages once onboard.
  2. I don't want to pre-buy our beverage packages, as they require me to pay now, instead of using my available OBC Balance. I know I can buy the packages on-board, but my question is where? Guest Services??? TIA
  3. Just had a fun time with the Medallion App. I did not have the MedallionNet Option on the app as described by other posts even though the app indicated that it was updated. So I uninstalled the app and installed it again. Lo and Behold its now a totally different looking app. It has the MedallionNet and also allows me to make dining reservations. Now I just have to figure out which sea days are formal, as we like the MDR on those nights and specialty dining on the other sea days.
  4. Thanks to everyone for their responses. Not being able to use my OBC as a pre-purchase sucks a little, but then again, we don't have a large amount and I'm sure it will quickly go for other stuff once on-board. So for at least a $5/day discount, it looks like it will pay to pre-purchase for out upcoming 16 Day cruise.
  5. Is there any discount for purchasing before you board?
  6. We are in a mini-suite and I've never seen that listed as perk. Can you point me to a link that details that? Or is that perk only for the other suites (Club and up?)
  7. New to Princess and I've searched and could not find an answer to a question about the refrigerator in our suite. Does it come stocked? If so, I will want it emptied as I don't drink booze and the DW is only a light imbiber. I've sailed Holland America a bunch and I would generally call Ship Services prior to the cruise and request that the fridge be emptied. But I can't seem to find the contact to request the same for Princess. Is this something I can do prior to boarding or just deal with it once we get on-board through our steward or the front office?
  8. I've read varying reports on bugs, but just in case we have a couple of head nets that we will carry in case we encounter a situation where the tiny bugs are swarming.
  9. If you friend really wants to see the puffins, then I would make an effort to find something that is puffin oriented. We did an around Iceland tour in 2018 and one of the stops was the Heimaey Islands, where we took a tour labeled as Puffins and Volcanos. And we saw a lot of puffins, as they took us out to an overlook that had a puffin viewing cabin over the cliffs that they used for nesting. We also went to the puffin museum on the island and got to meet up close one of the puffins that was undergoing some rehabilitation. On our other tours we never specifically saw any puffins, although when near the coast we would occasionally see some flying, but they were far away and not picture worthy.
  10. Since I'm thinning on top, I tend to wear a ball cap when outside the house. But I'll take it off at the table in any restaurant we dine at. If I don't I'll get whacked by the DW. Having the rule is fine, but the problem I always see is on the enforcement end. Nobody in charge at the MDR is enforcing the rules, therefore people get away with wearing short/flip flops/etc, which should never been seen outside the Buffet.
  11. When we use the lines Airport Transfers, we just buy them on-board and they go onto our account as just another charge as skynight said. Generally when you get your disembarkation worksheet to fill out, there is an option for the various transfer (direct or with tours). Depending on where we disembark and whats next we either DIY or use them. If we have an excess of non-refundable OBC we will use the lines transfers.
  12. #2, #3 and #5 are our primary rules. For decades we lived at a United Hub (IAH) so connections to other Hubs (IAD/EWR) were never much of an issue. While it makes a long travel day, we have no problems spending 5+ or more hours between flights. Thats what the airport clubs are for. We can relax and not be too stressed before our final overseas flight.
  13. Yeah, I know about that. The DW once turned her curler in to a puddle of plastic with metal bits when she mistakenly plugged it into a 220V adapter I had on the outlet instead of the converter. For us we use the word adapter as an implement which just changes the plug type. Converter also changes the output voltage/wattage.
  14. You may not even need a converter, just and adapter to go from Europe round plugs to Us spade type. Check your CPAP machine to see if it will accept 220V input. If you do need a converter, be sure that you get one that can supply the proper wattage. We have one very heavy duty one that the DW needs to power her hair curler as it only takes 110v, so that one gets packed when we are going to spend any time on land trips. As most USB/Cell/Computer chargers can take 110 or 220v inputs, we carry a variety of adapters so we can utilize the various plug types we encounter. I even picked up a 3 outlet European plug that I can plug into the one on the ships outlet and then just plug some adapters into it and wa la, extra outlets. These were really handy before ships started adding USB Ports.
  15. Bingo! I don't live with my phone in my hand. I'll often leave it upstairs in my office for hours at times in the evening or even overnight. When I'm on the ship I only want to carry the absolute minimum of stuff around with me. That generally comes down to some lip balm, my drink container, room key (card/medallion) and some $$ or Chips if I expect to be doing any activity in the casinos.
  16. First time Princess Cruiser. Our TA has given each of us Crown Grill Credit. How do I make a reservation using this credit before sailing, or do I just deal with it on board?
  17. I also bring a collapsible silicone funnel to use when filling my bottle. It makes it a bit easier to get some ice and water or tea in the bottle without it spilling all over the place. I've gotten many comments on what a good idea it is it over the years.
  18. And its really even more restrictive for the passengers. The total bandwidth available has to be split at least 3 ways. Shipboard needs, crew needs, passenger needs. The passengers get the smallest percentage of the total available bandwidth.
  19. This is from the 2021 benefits declaration. PRINCESS CRUISES* Customer Solutions 24303 Town Center Drive, Suite 200 Santa Clarita, CA 91355 Tel 800 872 6779 ext. 30317 Fax 661 753 0180 Email: sbpcl@princesscruises.com Which can be found at this link
  20. Wow, faxed and emailed the request again today. The OBC is now showing up in my account.
  21. sbpcl@princesscruises.com as per the shareholders benefit statement.
  22. Well, thats interesting, the $30pp that my TA gave me does not show up there. I only see it under the Payments Section of 'Manage Reservation'. Well, just got this today. Your message To: Benefit, Shareholder (PCL) Subject: [EXTERNAL] Stockholders OBC Credit Request - Booking 2W3WGG Sent: Wednesday, June 8, 2022 12:34:17 PM (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) was deleted without being read on Thursday, June 23, 2022 9:08:05 AM (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada). So my response is to send the email again and fax it in. Let see if this gets any better response.
  23. I applied on the 8th and still waiting for it to show up. Cruise is in Mid August, so I'm giving it another week before I submit it again.
  24. Where in the Personalizer will it appear (Payments?) along with other OBC Credits, like the one I get from my TA?
  25. Free testing for travel is no longer available in most places in the US. I was pricing it for a cruise in early June that we ended up cancelling and it ranged from $125 - $175pp at CVS, Walmart, Walgreen, etc.. The cheapest option I found was the Binax eMed Proctored self tests at $70 for 2 test kits. The free tests that the government will send you are not valid for cruises or other forms of travel that required certified results.
