Good Morning from an overcast but warm day at the beach I always enjoyed tailgating parties. Always a lot of fun. I dont go to the movies very often, everything seems to come out quickly on DVD, etc. No skyscrapers here. We would enjoy todays meal, may tuck it away for cooler weather. I did play golf this AM, only 9 holes. Didnt want to get tied up in the crazy traffic that is here for the launch and holiday weekend. Sure hope it is a successful launch this afternoon. I have a few neighbors that work on that program. Many jobs on the line. We will be watching from the patio, the beach will be too crowded for us. Enjoy the weekend Stay safe and enjoy today

We went out last nite with friends for the bioluminescence. I was surprised when they asked because I thought it was over. It was probably the best I have ever seen! They live on the river and said this week has been amazing. Rocket scheduled to go again tomorrow. I am hoping for their success. Currently scheduled for 2:17pm. Debating on my scheduled tee time. Dont want to get caught in traffic. Found out that Lahaina has been dropped for Kahuli. Not too pleased but we will figure it out. Off to water aerobics. Stay safe and enjoy today

Still no shoes, might just end up with my flip flops. They are Clarks and very comfortable. @Cruzin Terri A very Happy Birthday ! Hope you are having a wonderful day. @StLouisCruisers We had a very similar issue with a pilot that was doing acrobats over the beach. My neighbor called the local airport and complained that this was a safety issue. It stopped almost immediately and have not seen it since. Might be worth a try if it is over a residential area. I would love it! HAL is only here in the fall with repositioning after the Canada/New England sailings. THey were here several years ago for a very short time. Passengers complained about the trip from the airport and limited hotels,restaurants. Port Canaveral has grown a lot since then. Hotels of every brand and many new dining places. Transportation options have also improved but we are not getting the train. Problem is Port Canaveral is also very busy with ships here every day.

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach We all really enjoy trail mix and we eat outside most days. No success shoe shopping yesterday. I may just have to get sneakers which I really do not like. ( for me) We were successful in getting the visas for Australia and New Zealand yesterday. Plus I was able to book our hotel in Sydney before our flight home. We had some difficulties with Flight Ease and finally we just moved everything to the day after debarkation. It will be much less stressful. They had us on a 11:30 am flight . There is no way we would have made that flight. No definite schedule for the rocket launch, maybe Saturday. @dfish Debbie I like the recipes today. Will tuck them away until it is cooler here. Happy House hunting! Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach We celebrate beach day every day. I feel so blessed to be able to live in such a peaceful and beautiful place. We like most others on this thread have had too much grief the last few years. I will always be grateful to the posters here who helped me with prayers and kind words during some very difficult times. Well yesterday was a no go for the rocket. Hopefully they can fix the problem. Scheduled to try again on Friday but they are making the decision today. I am going out today to find some comfortable walking shoes for our trip. I wear flip flops 90% of the time with sandals filling in. I have not worn sneakers for a very long time. Not sure what I will end up with. I want to have everything done by mid September so we can go into hibernation until we leave on 10/6. Stay safe and enjoy today CHarlene

Good Morning from a very cloudy day at the beach. I am a big Jane Austin fan, so I do like that quote from Darcy`s proposal to Elizabeth. Never been to todays port. Lots of excitement here in preparation for the big launch tomorrow. We have been advised to stay home and off the roads because they are expecting gridlock. Went out early this AM to get some groceries. There will also be 5 ships at Port Canaveral tomorrow . I feel bad for anyone that is heading to a cruise and did not know about this launch. We are looking to go to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary while we are in Brisbane. Is it possible to take a taxi from the pier and will there be availability of taxis at Lone Pine for the return?

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach No rain here, although we could use it. Love daffodils, they are one of my favorite flowers. We are scheduled for todays port on our trip in the fall. Not sure we are going to get there. It will be great to see any pictures. I received a notice yesterday regarding my 50th college reunion. Yikes! Unfortunately, it is going to be in October while we are away. I called the person who sent me the invitation and it was one of my old roommates. We have not talked in years. Great conversation and the years just fell away. We talked for over an hour. So we have plans to get together after my return. She is going to get a few of the " old gang" together. Today is primary day in Florida. So after voting, we are going shopping. Still need a few things and I want everything done by Labor Day. Even though we dont leave until October 6th, I want to avoid being out as much as possible. Stay safe and enjoy today Charlene

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach I am a Senior Citizen but not a poet. I grew up in the Boston area and continued to live there until DH was transferred to the Aeronautics Division in the 80`s. Didnt want to move to Florida but we did. It was suppose to be for 3 years but now 35 years later, we are still here. My family is still in Boston and I go back often. However I have never sailed from there. Hopefully that will change next summer with our booked roundtrip to Iceland/Greenland. @Crazy For Cats Enjoy the " Christmas Tree Shop". I love that place. Always fun. Be safe and enjoy today

The rooms do have a fridge but no microwave. There is a microwave available but not on every floor. The chef is relatively new but getting good reviews from "the locals" It is a very popular hotel, but a little pricey ( I think) However it is one of the few hotels that is direct ocean front and with balconies. Just reopened about a year ago after a massive renovation. Publix is directly across the street.

I think I already know the answer to this but. We had originally booked a flight leaving Sydney at 2pm. Debarking the morning of January 2 and flying back to US. We received a notification that our flight is now 11:30am. I really dont think we could realistically make that flight. It is still 5 months away so could change again. Do you think we should try and change it now. Our ship docks at White Bay.

You are correct. Doubletree changed the name to Hilton Garden Inn. Same location, massive renovation. Had severe hurricane damage from a few years ago, was closed for a long time. It appears to be a very popular hotel judging by the parking lot. No cookies!

Good Morning from an overcast day at the beach We had a wicked thunderstorm during the night that went on for over an hour. Very unusual for us. More rain expected this afternoon. I am the 2nd of 5, so sort of middle? Although I think my sister has that honor. A lot of lefties in my family. I use both hands. The Nuns would not let me use my left hand when I was young. Forced my right. So now I write backwards and golf with my left. Never been to todays port. Thank you Sandi for the pictures! I was able to change my outbound flight after almost 2 hours on the phone yesterday. So no driving from LA. Fingers crossed it does not change again, we had booked this one direct on our own. There is no rush. Leaving on a cruise on Saturday. The plane is scheduled to land at 12:50pm. I thought we could possibly be on the road by 2:30. Too optimistic?

We received a notification that due to schedule changes, we dont have the time to make our connecting flight from LA to San Diego. Other flight options are limited. We were thinking of keeping the first leg to LA and renting a car to drive to San Diego. It will be early afternoon on a Thursday. Crazy?

Good Afternoon from a warm and cloudy day at the beach. This Sahara Dust is causing very overcast skies. Well at least it keeps the sun from bearing down on you. Love playing in the sand, walking in the sand, sitting in the sand. Very peaceful. @smitty34877 So sorry to hear about Tana`s bout with Covid. She cannot catch a break! Please take care of yourself and take help when you can. My flight woes continue. I thought I had everything arranged for our October trip. First our trip home from Sydney was changed to a time that we would not have any hope of making. Still working on that one. Then yesterday, our outbound flight to San Diego got changed. There is not enough time for the connecting flight. ( 9 minutes between flights!!) So trying to rebook. We need a longer layover because of DD. Being the last off and waiting for her wheelchair, it can easily eat up 30-45 minutes. I am thinking of keeping the flight to LA and driving from there. Am I crazy? Stay safe and enjoy today Charlene
