Doesn't Princess have a guarantee on the best price? If pricing goes down, can't you still get the lower price?

It is interesting that there are a lot of cabins available for the February Diamond sailing. The rate has remained rather constant. The Discovery is a larger ship with much more amenities, however, it is the same price. However the Discovery is sailing from LA. Diamond is lacking a true steakhouse (it is a section of the buffet), coffee area or an Alfredos.

Princess New Cancellations as of March 14th 2022
Momma Rene replied to LACruiser88's topic in Princess Cruises
I'm booked for February. I think it will be cancelled. -
Sorry, but I am not following the reasoning. If there are lots of cabins available, then there is no demand. Also, the reputation of the Diamond ......

I'm scheduled for February. LOTS of cabins available, however, it looked like price went up from when I booked it. I am wondering what the reasoning might be.

I was planning a lovely birthday dinner for my husband and thought the Sterling Steakhouse sounded nice. However, I just found out it is part of the Horizon Court. Does anyone know anything about it? I was planning it for one of the dressy nights and going into the Horizon just is not appealing unless I am misunderstanding it. Thanks.

I am booked in 2023. Hoping that ship is a bit updated. I will miss the coffee place that is mid ship on other ships.

Diamond Princess Thermal Suite Questions
Momma Rene replied to rickcherryb's topic in Princess Cruises
Does anyone know when they allow bathing suits in the thermal area? I am uncomfortable being naked for the experience. -
Where on Diamond is a place for lattes and good coffee?
Momma Rene replied to deepwater's topic in Princess Cruises
I've done a bit of research about the Izumi Baths. It looks beautiful, however, I am not comfortable with being naked to enjoy the feature. Is there any time that they might have a time that at least a bathing suit is ok? I know for the outdoor one, bathing suits are required. However the indoor one looks absolutely beautiful. I just don't want to be naked to enjoy it. -

It seems the Diamond does not have a number of features that Princess usually has. Is the Diamond going in for refurbishment soon? Hopefully, those features will be added. There is a special type of a spa on the back of the ship. Does anyone know anything about it? -
The purpose of this board is to let others know what is actually occurring onboard. People can read all the reviews and make the decision for themselves. If nothing sour appears on these boards, I feel that we would feel that the comments are not accurate. This board is called Cruise CRITIC for a reason.

I have to agree. It was several thousands more. The cost is not justified. We are looking for a different line now. We did not ask for much. The biggest advantage of the suite was the concierage in Michael's Club. They were wonderful in helping with dinner reservations and having some cheese put in the room during late afternoon. The butler could not do either. Very disappointed.

Suite problem, trying to get corporate to listen?
Momma Rene replied to djh's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I was on the Reflection. I am saying that a lot of people in Luminae were not happy. The hostess was concerned that we and others were ordering from the MDR menu. People in Michael's Club were not happy because the bartender who was there until 5:30 pm could not make a drink or understand English. People went to the bar and showed him how to make a drink. I've been in suites on Celebrity three times. This experience, costing at $10,000 left me feeling that I should get a different line. Things are different now for suites on Celebrity. I am disappointed. -

I think not. A LOT of people ordered from the MDR rather than Luminae. -
Suite problem, trying to get corporate to listen?
Momma Rene replied to djh's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Just did a cruise in a suite. I was very disappointed. We have done suites before with Celebrity. Food quality has declined as well as Michael's Club bar service. I am looking for another cruise line that will have the level of staffing, quality and will deliver what they promise. -

I totally agree. If you are paying top dollar, you should receive what you are paying for. I just took a cruise and paid close to$10,000 for the cruise. I expected that level for the price I paid. Will I do another cruise in a suite on Celebrity? I think not. -
Definitely a different experience than we had. We were going to the Caribbean. No trivia, no silent disco, Officers did come in and chat with us. The only person who knew how to make a drink appeared at 5:30 pm. The bartender during the day had limited English skills.

Reflection - anyone been on it this year?
Momma Rene replied to go.without.you's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We sailed the Reflection recently. We were in a Reflection Suite. Loved the suite, extra room on the balcony. The cost of the trip was roughly $8,500 for the two of us. When you spend that amount of money for a 9 night cruise, we were expecting Celebrity to deliver what we had loved in the past. Would I do it again? Probably not. Food in Luminae was not what we had experienced in the past. After a few days, people asked for the main dining room menu. Michael's Club was poorly staffed with a bartender that did not know what or how to make a drink. On a couple of occasions, people were showing them how to make a simple drink. The person who could make a drink appeared at 5:30. Our butler was ok, nothing great. The concierge in Michaels was wonderful in helping us with reservations, etc. It was interesting that they had never been on a ship and they were just learning how to do their job on our voyage. The specialty restaurants had sub par food. We were again shocked that although the menu looked wonderful, the quality of the food was poor and, again, not what we experienced before. The Tuscan Grill appetizer of the cheeses and italian ham was poor supermarket quality. We sent back the steak because it was so chewy that you could not really eat it. The staff was wonderful and did their best to accommodate. They were always cheerful and thoughtful except for the Michael's Club bartender who was not trained. I am hoping I am not flamed because of this review. I just came home with a bad feeling about a suite experience cruise on Celebrity that I had so enjoyed in the past.
