I had a cabin number before and even the previous upgrade offer emails showed the cabin number. Now the upgrade offer shows my cabin as G0000. I have upgrade offer emails sent one minute yesterday apart. The first email has my cabin number and the next one has G00000. I have been on msc before and understand the bid system and that msc IT isn't bad as it was 5-10 years but it still is a hot mess.

JamieLogical's Live from the MSC Meraviglia 4/9 (semi-B2B)

I must be unlucky. The bowling alleys have always been messed up with at least one lane pretty much in disrepair. -
MSC has supply chain problems in Florida for their food and drink. It is nuts it can 36 hours into a cruise and brands of booze, soda pop and some fresh fruits are already gone. One ship sailing from TX or CA is going to be the 3 stooges supply chain wise for a long time imho. I'm a fan but MSC has had years to get getter at customer service and I.T. and supply chain. I'll be on Mera out of NYC soon and i'm going on record predicting the supply chain will be a mess.

i don't like the cabins that are next to the cabin hallway and the elevator lobby. People are waiting for the vators and you open your cabin door and they can see all the way through your cabin. And your cabin is at the busy intersection of vator lobby and cabin hallway. I kinda think we are talking about the same cabins.

You get your card as the csr's are processing your paperwork in the terminal. Often passengers are asked not to go directly to their rooms once onboard because they aren't ready.

Seascape Yacht Club Newbie ? for Embarkation Day
CruiseScrooge replied to UWGRAD1's topic in MSC Cruises
You won't have trouble finding food. The ship has to have food available for the guests who stayed onboard from the last cruise. The regular buffet will be open also and busy as heck of course. -
I kinda knew about transbridge. What i mean is i must have had a old link from covid time because every time i used it in the last two years it said no service. Now doing a web search i found it has service again. Two mistakes on one already booked cruise. Assuming the MSC Mera went out of Manhattan and goofing up with Transbridge.

I had to do elder care for quite a while and now that i'm cruising again i was disappointed to find out Carnival killed the tiny hidden away free fish and chips station on the Conquest class ships and put in a pay place. Norwegian and their O'sheehans/The Local pub is my choice. Costa,MSC,Carnival, NCL i've cruised but got the the other non luxury lines already booked or in the crosshairs.

Embarkation with one Diamond status member in party
CruiseScrooge replied to Sthrncrusr's topic in MSC Cruises
Nope. What a mess it would be if strangers sharing a cabin on a themed cruise had to find each other. -
When the juices need to be refilled the wait staff isn't exactly johnny on the spot and pouncing into action. They have a lemonade drink i swear is half battery acid at least to me. Mango and strawberry- kiwi come to mind. Water and ice are at drink dispensors. You can make hot or cold tea with i'd say about 6-8 varieties of tea bags. coffee and decaff. Creamer is the coffee mate liquid stuff in several flavors and occasionally some milk or cream in a small pitcher. A few artificial sweetners and sugar of course. Several people were doing cartwheels because there was Stevia sweetner. milk, skim and chocolate milk pints in buffet in 2 spots but easy to walk by without noticing during breakfast. grab one or two and but in your frig.

Do you like the way Virgin Voyages does this?
CruiseScrooge replied to mfs2k's topic in Virgin Voyages
I haven't been on VV yet but it seems the dining system and specialty restaurants isn't very forgiving to solos or people in a group like a singles group who don't know if they might meet someone while on the cruise to have dinner with and so much is already booked when they try several days into the cruise. -

Upgrade to Yacht Club Offer ... Ugh The Decisions Never End!
CruiseScrooge replied to tonyfall1's topic in MSC Cruises
I'm going solo soon and my upgrade offer from balcony to YC email says it is based on 2 people. MSC and its woeful customer service and IT makes me nervous to put in a bid and maybe get charged for two. -
I think some web pages or layouts have been redesigned the last few days. Anyway things just look different or new to me on web pages. Maybe POS and the image is just a placeholder while they change things.

Is the MSC USA website malfunctioning?
CruiseScrooge replied to Itchy&Scratchy's topic in MSC Cruises
I hate Msc's use of cookies. My mailbox is filled with my mock bookings and i have to gleem through them for the actual booked ones. And i don't fill in my passenger info when doing mock bookings. Oh i do forget to clear cookies or i'm bopping around using both regular and the inprivate/incognito bvrowsers sometimes. -
Tables for two [used by one] are hard to get and sadly tables for two rarely are given to solo passengers. Why make one person happy when you can make two? Just to repeat ask to be seated with other solos or ask to be moved if you are uncomfortable. Nothing sucks more than being at a large table and your tablemates are family and friends who have a this is our vacation why the heck are you here attitude. Anytime seating can be great or a disaster. On the plus side with anytime seating you are usually seated very quickly because they can shoe horn you in while the large group collects dust waiting.
