Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Looking forward to your review. We will board the Prima 23 May. First time on this ship but not new to NCL. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
  2. On shore pay in Euros. Cash is still widely used in Europe. Credit cards can be used almost everywhere. ATMs (bank owned) outside of airports usually have the best exchange rate.
  3. Our first cancelled cruise was February 2020. We were going to Singapore. It was first going to Hong Kong but there was political unrest. Then they completely canceled because of some "'mystery virus". We then booked a Panama Canal cruise. That didn't happen. My college kids had spring break.so we decided on a last minute cruise. Escape out of Miami. March 7-14, 2020. While out on the sun deck, several college age kids started getting messages that classes were cancelled. Then my kids got the same message. It was such a weird experience. We were the last cruise for the Escape before the shut down. Such crazy times
  4. I agree with you. It is not one thing but many small ones.
  5. I will start by saying lobster or no lobster is not really the issue. It's the standard that you expect after multiple stays in the Haven. Someone who is new to the concept or maybe just a couple of stays in the Haven might never know the difference in experiences. But I do. It's all the small changes that happen from cruise to cruise. We all know the changes that have had to happened of the last few years. Prices are up for everything. But the Haven experience should not be diminished while paying so much more.
  6. I find this new upcharge for lobster very disappointing. We will in the Haven aboard the Prima in May. We have sailed in the Haven many times and really enjoy it. But this is by far the most expensive cruise we have done. We have in the past found the value to be good but now we are starting to question this. I understand that every business is cutting corners but when does the cuts and increased prices become too much? I dont know the answer as we do like NCL. Getting back to the lobster policy, I imagine some people might have abused it during their stay but maybe a limit of two would be a way to keep the customer happy.
  7. Thanks @graphicguy. I have followed your review and enjoyed it very much. We will be on the Prima in May. It's a cold weather itinerary but booked the thermal spa in case we need to escape the crowds on sea days. I hope you are healing well.
  8. We have been on both, cabins inside and outside of Haven. Service depends much more on who your butler and room attendant are than the location of the cabin.
  9. Hi Dan! We met you at the m&g that you hosted in October aboard the Epic. We are looking at booking a cruise on the Prima in May. Iceland to England. Can’t wait to read your comments on the ship. Can you tell me what deck you chose and why? We are thinking of 13 but we always prefer higher. Any thoughts? Thanks
  10. We were on the Epic October 2-13. She was in good shape for the most part. Needs a few touch ups but overall we would sail on her again.
  11. We started cruising on HAL. Loved it from the beginning, great service, good food and beautiful ships. My kids were very young then. As they got older we moved to NCL. It has more things for them. If traveling just with my husband, I would love to go back to HAL. My husband is harder to convince because of pricing on HAL and the perks from lattitudes from NCL
  12. Hey! I think we will be neighbors in the Haven. The cruise started with just my husband and I. Two bedroom because its my favorite. But then my adult kids heard about it and decided to join. We are very excited about the overnight ports. We have been to most of the ports before.
  13. My kids were lucky to get a few tours when they were younger. On one ship they met the Captain who gave them a tour. Afterwards they went to his office and received some ship swag. It was a lot of fun for them and they got to ask a lot of questions. They also toured and met Captains of a couple of HAL ships Lucky for me I was the chaperone
  14. Thanks! I found it and it's now paid for!
