  1. Good suggestion, but Cruise Critic disabled Direct Messages to other members. You can try @sfpd3000 and hope Alan responds
  2. It's such a shame (I understand both sides) that Monterey was dropped. That would have been an acceptable reason for me to get on a Royal Class ship. Not meant to be. But then there is the Grand....out of LA....maybe, maybe, maybe.
  3. Take screen shots of all emails. One sister got OBC. The other didn’t. I had to show the paper trail.
  4. I thought I saw something in the personalizer that allowed you to extend your FCD. Not on my computer so can’t pull it up (and it’s late). Edit: just checked with my iPad, ability to extend not on account. Or call to have it extended. if you know of someone cruising, they will need your Captain Circle number and email address.
  5. Thanks for the updated information. Hope OP takes advice and comes in a day earlier. Boston is a lovely city to visit.
  6. Logan is not far from the terminal. From the bow of the ship/Gym, you can see the runways. Have a back up plan if flying in the same day. Remember there will be time zone changes. And Texas has some wicked weather that will ground/delay planes. I used UBER from the ship to Quincy Market. Cost me $16...including the tip.
  7. Would you please clarify...which cruise line had which service?
  8. Better yet, go to your cruise (save as a favorite/or incognito). Click on quote flight and search to your hearts content. No risk in clicking the wrong button.
  9. Not to worry. You will be able to book your dinner reservations once on board for almost any time you want. They reserve tables for suites. Several times, I've had a card waiting for me with an assigned time (which I was able to change). Another time, I had just entered my cabin with the phone rang....asking me what time I wanted to go to dinner. And this was pre-medallion days.
  10. I wrote a nice email to DJ's supervisor. I received a reply back from her thanking me for taking the time to compliment an agent. There are "real" people in corporate.
  11. Don't get too stressed. I don't need it, but it would be helpful to others.
  12. Thanks for letting me know that I live in a reality world. If you are self disciplined, you could also set up your own installment plan. You either pay the piper along the way or at the end. Just recently, I made a partial payment on a large balance. I planned it incorrectly. I should have made one payment, skip a month, and then make the final payment. I ran the risk of going over my limit by doing 2 consecutive charges. All of my credit card charges are paid in full each month. Now they have "flex" plans. No thank you. To @runner2013...thank you for the updates. I'm glad it worked out for your friend. We hear so little about Princess Promotions.
  13. I just happened upon this page on Princess.com Personalizer. I’ve done it before but thought it was moved to the app. Login Check in Dietary Requests …Distilled water …Low salt i don’t see a place to write specific allergies.
  14. I don't know if I was dreaming this, but somewhere....I read...that Princess does have an installment plan. Sometimes I have a hard time separating what I read on the computer and "reality". Of course, I didn't take a screen shot nor would I ever do this.
  15. @jeromep has a wealth of information. The one thing left out is that "sometimes" iMessaging will work on the ship without purchasing Medallion Net wifi service. It will only work with another iPhone. I say sometimes because it has happened to me and my friends. They could not get the iMessages I was able to send out. Don't know if it was user error or other.
  16. Your experience may differ (and I'm okay with that). There is a difference between bell service to take your bags from the room to the lobby AND bell service to take your bags to the ship. I can only report what happened to me.
  17. I've done that! I was looking for a refund for a cancelled excursion...Duh....wrong credit card. Refund was issued the day after I cancelled the excursion and looked for about a month; wondering why with multiple phone calls to Princess. At least you figured this out on your own. Good going. Congrats on winning your bid. Enjoy
  18. I don't see why not. There are passengers who don't go ashore. There are (maybe) sea days. There might be short port days. The ED can schedule a 4 PM show on those days that don't have a conflict.
  19. When you check your credit card, does it say pending? I made 2 charges on Princess and each was pending for 4 business days before I actually saw it as a charge when I checked online. I've only made a bid once (and didn't get notice until 24 hours before the cruise that it was denied). Where you notified of a stateroom number assignment when they "accepted" your bid? Or did the email just say they acknowledge you submitted a bid?
  20. I was "stuck" in the MDR on the Grand with other crew being interviewed by Customs Border Patrol before disembarking the ship. I had to "clear" customs to take some things off the ship to my daughters (story has been told many times). I saw crew and entertainers waiting to be cleared. Never considered that they would have been fined for violating PVSA. Makes sense.
  21. Bar Harbor was on my bucket list to visit Arcadia National Park. Did a local tour. The town was very crowded. Extremely long line to get back on the water shuttle. I can understand a small town being over-run with tourists. Happens in Hawaii too. The limit of 1000 passengers is going to eliminate all Princess ships as well as all of the other mainstream corporations. I can see why they would prefer tourism by car. They will spend a lot more money on accommodations, restaurants, etc.
  22. I did a "fire engine" one hour ride around Portland, ME. (Also stopped in Bar Harbor and really enjoyed that port.). Enjoy some clam chowder along the waterfront. Portland is less touristy than Bar Harbor with lots of window shopping to be done. I think Bar Harbor shot themselves in the foot on this call.
  23. I just got off the phone with EZ Air. Spent an hour with agent DJ from Pensacola, FL. Initially called to ask about ticketing my flight between 90 days and 45 days. IF you choose to have your reservation ticketed, you run the risk of being charged by the airlines for any changes YOU make. It's called a "voluntary change". My booking(reservation) was ticketed shortly after final payment was made. Now comes the good part. I explained to DJ that Delta had cancelled my international flight and rebooked me on a later flight. She checked my history to confirm that a change was made in March. I told her I called EZ Air and Delta. Both said that they could change me to a later flight but it would cost me more to transfer to a cheaper morning flight on my return. Are you ready ??????? She asked me if I was willing to be put on hold as she looked into transferring my booking to an earlier flight. I boldly stated that I would love the change as long as it would not cost me more. Her reply was that as long as I stay with the same carrier (Delta), it didn't matter if it was a code share. Since it was a change made by Delta (involuntary) she could put me on an earlier flight. I don't know how many times I asked that this could be done without any additional charges to me. After many holds, she declared the change a success. She returned often to make sure I was still on the line. She made sure to get my phone number in case we were disconnected. Me, being the doubting Debbie, wouldn't let her off the phone until I had an email with the changes. Funny that my TA sent me the change before I received the one from DJ. I will be composing an email to DJ's supervisor Janice. The few times I have used EZ Air, I have been fortunate to have good experiences. Only once was I exasperated. but they did come through for me by the end. My advice. Have your questions written down ahead of the call. Be a broken record and confirm, confirm, confirm what you are trying to resolve. WRITE EVERYTHING down: names, changes, time, dates, etc. Ask for written confirmation on change to be sent to you. Then I went into Delta...found my new flight. Next went to Princess Personalizer and printed out my "new" flight information. I am satisfied that I have enough documentation to get me on the correct changed flight.
  24. As always, @chengkp75 comes to the rescue with an explanation that everyone can understand. Mahalo Nui Loa
  25. I am hoping that the smallness of the room will be okay. Many have said the location is great, but the room is pretty "modern". I like Bonvoy brands (most of the time).
