  1. Welcome to Cruise Critic. After reviewing your post, it seems as though L103 and L104 are Oceanview Obstructed. It does look like there are doors out to a blank area. Very doubtful if passengers will have access to this area. I could be wrong.
  2. You started 2 threads. Ask the moderators to delete one. The Caribbean Princess does not have forward observation decks on passenger decks. If in port or when it is safe, they may allow you above the bridge.
  3. I would take the reduced fare and skip the hassles. Are you planning on taking any Princess excursions? Or buying Plus on board. Or independent internet? $2300 is mega bucks that will probably be “non-refundable”. Do you have military/share holder OBC?
  4. INTRAnet will connect the app to the ship. You are able to purchase stand alone INTERnet/wifi for a single device or for 4 devices. You can share one device plan, but only one device can be connected at a time.
  5. Thank you for posting this information @tipofthehook I have not viewed this thread before. But...through other helpful posters, after many, many, many cruises, I did have to visit the Medical Center. I was advised ahead of my travels (in the back of my mind) that I should not leave the ship without my Medical History. So much easier to deal with it while on board. On the other hand, dealing with Medicare and my other insurance for years (I'm old), I do know that nothing will be processed without medical codes.
  6. If you are before final payment, your TA should be able to cancel Premier and add Plus. You may get some flack (oh...that was part of the promotion ya da ya da). There should not be any refund coming. Plus would be paid along with final payment (unless purchased separately). Compose at the same time, but @joeyjeremiah beat me to the submit button.
  7. And then they created the Royal Class ships with one more deck added AND removed more public spaces. Can’t comment on Princess Theater or MDR capacity since I’ve stayed away from this class. The Sun Class ship will be even bigger. That leaves: Grand, Sapphire, Diamond, and Coral. Purposefully left out the Island since they butchered her. i will stick with the Grand/GEM class ships.
  8. Isn’t that what I wrote? You will be charged if you don’t have a beverage package?
  9. Alfredo’s is great, but there will be an up charge without a beverage package. All else mentioned are complimentary.
  10. When did this all change? I was on the Caribbean Princess late October 2023 and they had a different lunch menu every sea day.
  11. Platinum perks have not changed. Never had much to start with. ”Priority” boarding after in-transit, suite/elite, Club Class/Reserve Class. Green lane with Medallion (part of beverage package) otherwise blue lane. Only screening to get into most terminals. I think Platinum gets upgraded Princess insurance. PES lounge in the late afternoon.
  12. My car is 2006. Getting up there in age, but still better made than the current version. But then again, it only has 60,000 miles. I got a V-6 engine that they don't include anymore. Has gotten me out of many tight traffic situations. I'm planning on keeping this car. Newer is not always better (think new Princess App, Princess Plus 50 to Plus 60, etc).
  13. Got to make use of all the "perks" for the packages. Doubt there is a single person in line who is going to shell out $12.99 for one of those sundaes. On a longer cruise, the passengers are more spread out over the days. I'm a one and done.
  14. So sorry the slot pull wasn't more successful. How did you divide up a nickel amongst 15 players?
  15. I, again, was suckered into watching the blonde female youtuber. Title caught my attention. I know better....so am coming here for verification. She announced that as of February 1 (now past due), the OLD Medallion Class App would not be functional. I did try to get in to app. App opens, but spins and spins. Not sure if that is my provider (documented elsewhere) or that Princess has truly discontinued OLD app. I do have the new app on one of my devices. It seems to work most of the time. I was finally liking the old app. Why does Princess IT feel that newer is better? rhetorical question. No answer needed.
  16. Nice turn out at the Wakeview Bar. How did they manage to get an officer to show up?
  17. Since your trip to Hawaii was probably a well planned out (only do once) vacation, I am glad you enjoyed your time on NCL. She does have the best itinerary, but, sadly was not the cruise for me, more of a floating hotel. Pride of America is a much more expensive way to see the islands.
  18. Correct, there are 3 main dining rooms that are as wide as the ship. On the Diamond, the main dining rooms on deck 5 and 6 have walls separating the mid-deck MDRs into 4 smaller dining rooms. Same menu, different decor, slightly quieter.
  19. The Grand fixed all the leaks by the time I cruised her post pandemic. If Princess decides to remove the Grand, I would love to see them clone her first and then build smaller ships.
  20. The Caribbean Princess does not have smaller separated dining rooms. On the Diamond, they did add walls to separate the main dining rooms on deck 5 and 6 midship.
  21. @organist65 I feel your frustration. You are not being provided information that you feel should be granted passengers. If a trip to Customer Service Counter is too difficult (out of your way/long lines), use chat to request a meeting (not just a phone call) starting with CS officer. Their office is behind curtains on deck 6 starboard side opposite CS counter. if you go to the counter, explain that you would like to meet with the manager/officer. Wait there until they confirm a date and time. Edit: correct title - Guest Service Director
  22. Little known fact: IF the airline changes a flight, you can contact them (if booked directly) and tell them that it is an unacceptable time. They are suppose to offer you a chance to change for no charge. They may play hardball and tell you that they will refund your fare.
  23. Yes, the juvenile humpbacks start arriving as early as late September, but the "action" is best in January February when there's a lot of "loving" going on. Summer is hot and humid...all the way through October. There could be some huge winter swells and some rain/wind in the early part of the year. My choice would be a cruise in late January to early February. Secondary is ship choice. Recently, Princess has been running the Discovery out of LA. She is much too big for Hilo and Nawiliwili. 10 sea days for 2 overnight ports is not worth it in my opinion. You will be missing too much of the island chain. If you can find a voyage on a Grand/GEM class ship, that will make a stop in Kahului (Maui), this would be a good voyage. Rent a car for each island. You will see much more than a Princess Excursion will provide. Unless you want to go to: Polynesian Cultural Center (aka luau) or up to Haleakala or down to Hana. The Arizona Memorial is an easy Do It Yourself activity.
  24. Forgot to add… Phoning room service to change out a minibar for suite/elite doesn’t incur a charge. Once, I had set out my exchange for the minibar and my room steward did it. Really did not want to task him with another job, but he took it upon himself to do the changes.
