When I have been on a cruise that missed a port (Oasis - October 2017) we received a refund of port fee.
-
They do refund port fees for that missed port though.
-
Whatever. I don’t really care so believe what you want.
-
No you only pay for one if you are solo and in a cabin by yourself.
-
The reason they stopped the policy of only one having to purchase is because of the sharing of the package that was going on.

What is your fav ship non Oasis class ?

Freedom of the Seas! 😎 -
If I would have went by all the mostly bad reviews of my first cruise which was on Sovereign of the Seas I wouldn’t be cruising today. This was back in 2008 and most of the reviews were so bad I almost cancelled the cruise. I went and we had the time of our lives and have been cruising ever since. Turns out we didn’t experience any of the bad stuff we read about.

Yep they stopped serving it a few years ago well before pandemic.

Who has been around long enough to remember the old time honored tradition of eating honey stung chicken that was always served at lunch on embarkation day in the Windjammer! That was a must have Windjammer delicacy back in the day! I remember if you didn’t get there early enough they would actually run out of it! 🙂

We are always in a cabin with a balcony and I think the black out curtains do a real good job of keeping the room dark when the sun comes up in the morning. If you have to have a completely dark room then that another story and you might be a vampire! 😂 I love my balcony and enjoying breakfast as we are closing in on the port for the day. I love it for getting away for the crowds for a while on sea days and enjoy my private spot to chill. I love sitting on it and enjoying a cocktail before getting ready for dinner for the evening. I love coming back to my balcony late night after hanging out in the shows, clubs or casino with a couple of slices of pizza and then laying back on my lounger looking up at the states and listening to the sounds of the waves as the ship glides through the sea! For me a balcony is priceless and did I mention that I love it??! 😎

RCCL stopping in Labadee these days?
bigque replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Royal will suspend trips there if it gets to the point where they need to as they have done in the past! They are fully aware of the situation and they will not put guest in harms way! -

Yes -

I know you don’t get double points if you win a bid and upgrade from let’s say a balcony to a suite but do you still get your double points if you were already booked in a junior suite and win a bid for let’s say a crown loft suite?? I want my double points and don’t want to bid if my points for the junior will be wiped out.

It is my understanding that they mainly have enough room in their cabins for essentials and little else. I was told that gifts like candy and things will get put in their lounge for anybody that wants it. Anything in a non sealed package gets thrown away.

I was booked for a Western Mediterranean cruise on Allure that was going to be the 2nd cruise after amplification in 2020 but was canceled due to Covid.

Port Canaveral - Walk from Cruise terminal to car rental location
bigque replied to SJCCruiser's topic in Florida Departures
Walk to most of the car rental agencies will be a nice walk especially if it’s hot and humid. They all have shuttles and the only thing with that you have to wait for the people that have already reserved a car to get to the shuttle if it is not full. What o have done in the past is taken a taxi to car rental as doing it that way you beat the crow that will be coming in on the shuttle. Also make sure you already have a reservation as the number of cars they have will be limited to those with reservations. -
Wow you called corporate about that??? Really???

Cruising vs All Inclusive Resort
bigque replied to LivLove2Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I do both and like both. What I like about cruises over the AI resorts is being able to spend a day in a different place every day or just a day at sea. What I like about the AI’s is “Everything” is included as advertised! What would be considered a specialty restaurant on the ship would be included with the various restaurants at the resorts. Having to pay for the drink package on the cruise is not a deal breaker for me. So as I said I do both and like both.
