  1. Man I haven’t seen a good ole smoking on the balcony post in a long while! This use to be a couple of times a week back in the day. And the replies are a little bit tamer these days I see! 🙃
  2. This is the best tour in Aruba. Trikes Aruba! Lots of fun and not off road! You’re tour through all the sites and attractions of Aruba!
  3. Since my first cruise on Sovereign of the Seas in 2008 which had a lot of negative bad reviews, I learned to experience each ship on my own and not giving a rats a$$ how bad reviewers of that particular ship might think it is. If I would have went by the reviews of Sovereign back then I wouldn’t be cruising today. Back then everyone was saying you had to go on Freedom Class or Voyager Class to have a good time. Oasis class had not come on board yet.
  4. Oasis with bad reviews??? Hell my first cruise was on Sovereign of the Seas back in 2008. If I would have went by what I read about that ship back then I wouldn’t be cruising today. I went in spite of what I was reading and had the best time of my life and been cruising ever since. Stop reading all the negativity and go make your own experience and enjoy. If you don’t like it then you don’t like it and move on!
  5. Hey can someone let me know if you can smoke on your balcony and can you cancel your automatic tips??? 👀🙃
  6. Some of you think that Royal Caribbean should still be like the golden cruise days of yesteryear! You may as well face it that those days are gone. What do you really expect when they are building more and more ships that are basically like taking a vacation to Myrtle Beach with all types of amusement and entertainment geared toward families and others that like that type of vacation. When you go on vacations to these places and all inclusive beach resorts people are not looking to get dressed up at night just to go to dinner. There are cruise lines where you can live out your fantasy of the golden years of cruising but it’s going to cost you a lot more for that experience. If you are going to continue to cruise with Royal you may as well face reality and stop complaining about what people are wearing because they are not going back. Icon of the Seas should tell you that!
  7. In places like San Juan you can purchase liquor in the duty free store at the airport. they will put in a special container and seal it and you are allowed to take it on the plane with you.
  8. This CC topic has become almost as good as the old smoking on the balcony post back in the day! 👀 Can we please talk about tipping???! 😂😂
  9. Wow! My first time at Labadee was in 2013 and we got a OTW cabana for $175. I remember people back then were saying that was too much to spend for a cabana because the prices had just gone up to that price! Little did they know! 👀😂
  10. $4,000???? 😮 there is no way! To each his own though!
  11. The ships don’t have flavored creamers like French Vanilla which I like in my coffee so I always bring these on the cruise:
  12. Sovereign was my first cruise in October 2008 and it left Royal not long after that. The Freedom class ships were the “Big” ships in the fleet back then so I read a lot of bad reviews about Sovereign leading up to that first cruise and I almost changed my mind about doing it. I’m glad I didn’t because I had a ball and been cruising ever since. My profile picture is Sovereign that I took a picture of from Coco Cay on that first cruise.
  13. Yes but for that one price you can order the entire menu if you want. And that would be for the entire room and not per person.
  14. Nobody was getting on the OP as to the naming being correct or not but as for myself in my comment I thought based on what the OP said that Royal was now calling that route a southern route.
  15. I agree! When did they start calling that itinerary Southern??? The itinerary I have taken for Southern the 3 times I have done it have been from San Juan which included the ABC islands or with port stops in Barbados, St Croix, St. Lucia, Antigua. Most southern ports oasis class ships can’t go to because they are just too big. I would do the Western of these two choices because I am not a big hang out on the beach person so to have Coco Cay and Labadee as stops on the same cruise would be a deal breaker for me.
  16. I rarely pay attention to the all complaint post. If that is their experience then fine but I have always had great experiences on my cruises. I’m not saying that everything has always been perfect which I never cruise looking for 100% perfection but every cruise as been an enjoyable experience for me. Hell if I would have went by all the negative reviews which were many about my first cruise ship Sovereign of the Seas I wouldn’t be cruising today. I booked it anyway and had the time of my life and have been cruising ever since.
  17. Been cruising since 2008 and never have my sunscreen been inspected for proper kind nor has it been confiscated. I guess I’ve been bringing the the right kind and didn’t even know it because I have never known about this until I have been reading about it on this and other cruise group sites lately.
  18. A lot of businesses post pandemic have reduced manpower and have not been able to get back up to pre pandemic levels. It’s not just the cruise industry. Restaurants, department stores or whatever kind of business have not decreased their prices because they are short of help neither but no one ask why they haven’t decreased menu prices or whatever. These cruise lines still have boards they have to answer to and at the end of the day it’s all about the bottom line. These room stewards are still working and having to do a lot more with less but people want to be upset over having to give up 17 or 18 dollars a day which is spread around.
  19. Labadee is a completely free beach day with free food just like at Coco Cay. You can get Cabanas that you have to pay for but it is not a necessity as there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas in the different beaches. Labadee is like what Coco Cay use to be before they made it into Perfect Day with the water park and pools.
  20. If you like tipping in cash or just don’t like tipping as you say then you wouldn’t be prepaying in the first place.
  21. I have cruised to just about every island in the Caribbean and I have used US dollars at all of them. If I plan on purchasing something on the islands I usually have various denominations with me so that I can come close as possible to the price I am paying as not all will give you change In dollars. Most around the immediate port area will but there are some that will give you change in local currency especially in the non touristy areas.
  22. I prepay and have since my very first cruise. It’s just added into your cruise price so it’s not really hanging onto your money has some say. I don’t want any bill at the end of the cruise.
  23. I am not going to doubt the OP’s “Opinion” of the food but OMG to say everything they ate at every venue they ate at on the ship was bad just can’t buy into that….. I’m sorry! People have been on here complaining about the food since I have been a member on here in 2010. In all my years of cruising sure there were things I didn’t like but I have “Always” been able to find something that I like be it Windjammer or MDR and if I got something I didn’t like I get something else and keep it moving. I like my steaks medium rare and once at Chops it was medium well and once it was rare I sent them back and both times they were more than happy to get it right. In this day and time I just don’t get what people’s expectations of the food is. If the food is so much better on those other cruise lines than cruise those other lines. I wouldn’t spend 100’s or thousands of dollars on vacation and continue to go to that same place for a week at a time and they have nothing satisfying to eat all week long.
