  1. We've sailed in E728 several times.  We did notice a very faint bass sound a few evenings, but it ended around 10:30/11:00 p.m.  It was so minor that it didn't keep us from booking this suite again.   The Regal is a beautiful ship.  Enjoy your suite and don't forget to visit the Concierge Lounge.  You'll be spoiled!

Yes. They will post as a credit to the on board account. Anything you or he purchases, including casino play, and charges to your on board accounts will net against any credit balance in a simple debit/credit system. If you do not have your crew incentive (daily gratuities) covered by the plus or premier fares then this charge will also net against any credit balance until the credit balance is used up.

Perfect!  Thank you for the info!

  3. In the past I've been able to purchase casino credits as a gift for my husband.  They're no longer offered through the cruise personalizer.  If I purchase OBCs for our upcoming cruise, will he be able to use them in the casino?

  4. I didn't think to keep a copy of the kids menu from our May 2022 sailing, but the menu has changed.  No more spaghetti and meats and the alphabet soup is a very bland version of what it used to be.   Our kiddos tried the new menu once and that was it.  They preferred the buffet....and pizza on the pool deck for the remainder of the cruise.  🍕🌭

Several years ago we did the "Angels and Demons" tour relating to the Tom Hanks movie.  They might be fascinated by connecting/seeing the real life locations/events as they related to the movie and book and learning how myth and reality mesh.  Having visited Rome many times and need to limit walking, we booked a "golf cart" tour of Rome which uses the back streets to visit many of the locales.  Rome in an open golf cart might entice them for 3 hours...

May I ask which golf cart tour company did you use?  We're looking at Rolling Rome.

    Thank  you!

  6. We sail to Alaska the end of May.  The notification below was posted on the Princess website before opening my cruise personalizer this week. I registered for one account on the ArriveCAN website and added all family members to that account.  Uploading passports and vaccination info was easy.  Now all I'll have to do is finalize the form before embarkation.  It's a very user friendly process.

I like to eat big salads for my meals as well and never had a problem getting them in the buffet.  I would just hand the server a plate and let them know the salad was my dinner and they made a beautiful big salad for me.

What a great idea.  I'll give that a try on the Discovery next month.

  8. We were in suites on both cruises so we had club class dining.  We did not have to reserve dining times.  Yes, regarding the Princess Patter.  The cabin steward left a copy in our room each evening.  I tried viewing the Patter on the app, but it was too difficult to read with these "senior" eyes.  🙂

  9. We're a family of 6 cruising at the end of May.   All information was entered into the Medallion app quite a while ago.  Our son-in-law's "Arrival Status" on the check-in portion on the Princess personalizer  continues to show "Incomplete".  I contacted Princess today to find out what was missing.  They checked our bookings - everyone's info is entered and check-in is complete.  The rep said it was a bug in their system and not to worry about it.

We were unable to complete information on the app for our January 2022 cruises.  We showed up at the port and the Princess rep took care of everything for us.

We used Through Eternity tours a few years ago ( also a Rick Steves recommendation). The guides were great.  We did a Vatican tour - the guide was an art historian..  we also did a tour of the Roman Forum and the Coleseum with a very knowledgeable guide.

I recently contacted Through Eternity tours as we're planning for a 3 day pre-cruise stay in Rome in November.  They were quick to respond and emailed a short survey for us to complete so they have an idea of our specific interests.  We've spent a day in Rome during a previous cruise and are looking forward to more time in this fascinating city.

We reserved an early morning tour that began with breakfast in a courtyard at the Vatican museums. We entered well before it was open for visitors, had breakfast and began our tour with a guide and headphones.  There were very few other people there. By the time we arrived at the Sistine Chapel, it was still almost empty. Friends who went on a “regular” tour could hardly see it due to the crowds. Of course, this was pre-pandemic and I am not sure what tours are currently available but this was one of our most memorable tours ever. We did the Scavi tour the following year and that was amazing as well.

That sounds wonderful.  Would you mind sharing what tour company you used for the breakfast and Vatican museum tour?   We're spending 3 days pre-cruise in Rome.

  12. Hooray!  Problem solved and flights are booked!  The air booking department discovered the problem was due to moving our cancelled 2020 transatlantic cruise to a 2022 transatlantic replacement.  The info didn't transfer well.  I hope this information will be helpful to others who might experience booking air for replacement cruises.

Sorry you're having so much trouble.  As best I know...you cannot call the Air Dept. direct. You *used* to be able to but I think that was stopped a couple of years ago.  Not what you want to hear, I know.

After 2 hours on hold with the Princess 1-800 number, a live person transferred me to the Air Department.  I've been on the phone with her for 30 minutes.  She can't book the flights either so she has me on hold (another 30 minutes so far) and is contacting someone else.  Not EZ is it?  🙂

  14. I've been trying to book flights through Princess online for several weeks only to receive error messages to contact Princess.  I've contacted Princess several times - been on hold several hours each time - hung up and tried again - finally reached persons who transferred me to the Air Department only to be disconnected.  The flights we need to book will not begin in our home city and the return flight will start at the disembarkation port and return to our home city (not the city we originally started from) so this must be handled through the air department.   Does anyone have a direct number for Princess Air Department?
