MY DH and I have spent many enjoyable hours in the Sanctuary area on a number of ships.

We found it to be a calming spot during sea days and often indulged in afternoon tea served there.

Being mindful of the Covid-19 pandemic, there may be more limited seating in the Sanctuary than there was prior to the virus spread due to social distancing protocols. I would suggest that you go directly to the Sanctuary area as soon as you board the ship to get a reservation. It is our experience that those reservations go quickly as passengers on B2B cruises and those in suites had priority for reservations. Because of the present health situation,Princess may begin to offer pre-cruise booking for the Sanctuary in a similar way they accommodate port excursion bookings.

I do hope you get to enjoy your future cruise and time in the Sanctuary.

Thank you for the info.  We're booked in an aft penthouse suite on the Enchanted Princess.  I'm sure there will be a lot of changes on board once ships sail again.  We'd be happy just sitting on our balcony, enjoying the view and a glass of wine.

Pre pandemic it was $30 a day if you booked the whole cruise. If you book on a per day basis it was $20 half day and $40 full day. The half day was from 8 am to noon or noon to 5 pm.

Thank you!  I rather spend a day in the Sanctuary then 10 minutes in the casino.  It will be money well spent.  LOL

One hint.... the Cheese Platter in the club class is very good... and is no way related to the room service menu......

Have often asked the wait staff in CC  to send one up to our room after dinner...

Very good and recommended with a bottle of red

Also we have found Suite breakfasts at one the specialty restaurants,  has alway been better than Club Class Breakfasts   ( well of our last cruise Dec 2019 )

    Don

We booked a suite for a November transatlantic.  If we sail (fingers crossed) I'll definitely ask about the cheese platter.  Sounds like a perfect bedtime snack.

Thanks for posting the shareholder's request form.  I filled out the form and faxed it to Princess less than 30 minutes ago.  Just checked the Payment section of the future cruise and lo and behold.... the shareholder's OBC has already been applied to the cruise.   Nice work Princess!

  5. 49 days on Royal Princess - South America Grand Adventure - FLL - "around the horn" - LA in 2019.  We loved the long cruise so much we booked a 50 day 4 Continent Adventure.  Sorry to say that was cancelled this year.  We've also did the 28 South Pacific cruise several times.   Can you tell we love longer cruises?  LOL

One of my goodwill FCC was also moved by Princess to my existing booking without notifying me. In chart it shows booking number they applied it to and travel summary shows it as part of my payment.

    do you have any bookings?

Yes, we have 3 future bookings.  Our TA was able to move the FCCs to the booking we preferred.  All's good.  🙂

Yes.  We had $2,450.00 in FCCs from cancelled cruises, which also disappeared without any type of notice.  Our TA called Princess and found out Princess moved those FCCs to one of the future bookings we have.   It wasn't the booking we preferred to pay down, so Princess moved it to the one we wanted.

If the Hotel Colon is too expensive (though it is really a lovely hotel especially if you get a room with a Cathedral view) then try their sister hotel Hotel Colon Regencia.  it is directly behind the Hotel Colon (thus no Cathedral view). We've stayed at both and would book at the Colon Regencia again in a heart beat.

We're planning a stay in Barcelona and checked out the website for Hotel Colon.  The hotel looks lovely, however, the website states bed sheets are not available.  I certainly hope that's a misprint.  How many travelers bring their own sheets?  🙃

  9. Hi Bob:  we sailed in R731 and our kids in R730 (aft Penthouse suites) on the Royal this past January.  Yes, the sofa does convert to a sofa bed.   The sofa left a lot to be desired in R731 - it tilted forward making sitting on it for very long, awkward.  It was fine as a sofa bed though.  Hope Princess replaced the sofa by now.

Loved the wrap-around balcony.  Depending on the direction of the wind, we experienced soot problems a few times, but it didn't lessen the "suite experience".    We were aware of the problem when we booked.

  10. We just received an email from Princess cancelling our November 6, 2020 Hawaii cruise.  While we thought that might happen, it's still a little disappointing.   We booked an aft suite for our 50th wedding anniversary.  We'll just postpone the celebration to 2021 and hope cruising resumes by then.   Princess is offering the following - a refund or double your deposit future cruise offer:

We hope you will stick with us by accepting this special Double your Deposit Future Cruise Credit offer:

    • Transfer the money deposited for your vacation as a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) and Princess will provide a matching bonus non-refundable FCC for the same amount up to the base cruise fare amount of the current cruise (minimum $100 per person).

Thanks to Cruiserkenn for helping out, there.  👍👍👍

We were on Deck 10, and, specifically, cabin C749.  It is, in fact covered.  Maybe this pic will help you out.

In further support of Cruiserkenn's comments, about a year previous, we were also in cabin C749 on the Ruby Princess, and it was, essentially, identical.

Thanks for posting the pic.  The balcony looks lovely.  I can envision a breakfast or two out there.   🥓 🧇

Not XB Guy, but for sure the aft facing suites on Star and other Grand Class ships are covered.  The balconies on the Dolphin deck suites are deep and covered🙂🐳🐋️🛳🌈🌅🌝

Thanks for the info.  We were on the Royal in an aft Penthouse suite in January.  Had a bit of a soot problem and a couple of things from the suite above us landed on our balcony.  🙂

A cruise to your local soda fountain for a malt in November is probably more likely.
