  1. Unfortunately I think on some SS ships this is already the case. Last week to see men in a jacket after 6 pm was really good as so many were not and a lot of passengers seemed to think a body warmer was ok for a jacket 😩. There were so many male passengers not even wearing a collared shirt or polo shirt, just wearing round neck t-shirts and jeans. Not how cruising used to be at all with SS and a bit of a shock to,us after how it was just a few years ago. I book with SS as I do like the dress code though after last week I now realise it’s very casual indeed. There were still some very smart dressers though mainly it was so casual. On formal evening probably no more than 25 men were wearing a tux. It’s such a shame for those who book with SS and love the dress code. SS really need to decide whether to enforce wearing a jacket or even just a collared shirt after 6 pm or go for casual as it’s not working at the minute.
  2. I’m on Silver Dawn 524 and it’s the first time we have had any kind of noise. We would usually be on deck 8 and we thought being lower was causing the problem though reading the posts here is making me realise others on same floor and close to us haven’t had any noise issue at all. Initially we thought it was engine noise though when docked it’s still constant and makes it very difficult to get asleep at night. I wouldn’t be booking it again.

    OBC

We used to get OBC when we booked with Silversea though last few years this hasn’t happened and we book in the U.K.

    Salt Lab

I have really enjoyed a few classes in the lab. Booked once onboard and definitely agree with Mchell810 that you don’t have too much for lunch.
  5. Was on Silver Dawn a couple of weeks ago and there was no personalised stationery. There was a little tel charging pad that had a small SS notepad and a pen. did love the Bvlgari bag and used the masks provided and the hand sanitiser a lot.
  6. On same cruise also. Luggage labels are given at the port or they were in June though we just used some of our own for airport etc. Really hoping Covid test goes ok for everyone.
  7. Looking for recommendations for a hotel after cruise ends in Bergen and flight is next day.
  8. I love packing cubes . Many years ago I bought a very distinctive case and just lifted it off the carousel and came home to find it was the wrong case!! I couldn’t believe someone else had the same one and I was too young to have the sense to check the address label so that was a lesson I won’t forget.
  9. Silver Dawn on the 2nd October Beardedshark as long as flights go ahead and antigen test negative 🤞
  10. Our TA told us today we have to book an antigen test 48 hours before we embark in Venice and then are in Corfu quite a few days later. It does seem very strange.
  11. One of the reasons we book with SS is that we can dress up along with so many others as so many other lines are very casual now. I would really hate it if SS had to lower the dress code just to fit in with everyone who wants to be casual. I hate being in the minority and hope they do listen to those of us who do like and stick to the dress code.
  12. Enjoying all the pics and the updates. Have a wonderful cruise. We join the Dawn in October so this has been so lovely to follow.
  13. That’s a shame your embarkation was so long. In June we were on the ship within 30 mins which was excellent so we were very happy indeed.
  14. I’m surprised about the jeans as we didn’t see this at all on our recent cruise. I guess I just expect people to adhere to the guidelines in the brochure and it’s a shame when they don’t.
  15. On our recent cruise I had a lovely pair of 7/8 black trousers and a few dressy tops. With the laundry etc this worked really well.
  16. Totally agree with Sargassopirate. We have done three cruises from all this started and I have been so cautious this entire time and have avoided it so far. I feel that wearing a mask and sanitising hands on the cruises and keeping our distance has really helped. Despite my husband having Covid twice and colleagues all having it I have managed to avoid it by really being ultra cautious.
  17. What are the Covid cases like now? We join you all in Copenhagen. Just got our test results this evening which thankfully are negative. Another hurdle over, now just to get through all the airport problems these days as we are flying out tomorrow. Can’t wait to embark on Tuesday.
