They say they changed the mattress while we were off the ship. It feels the same. I’m going to sleep on the couch tonight.

Currently on the Emerald . Boarded September 9 for New England/Canada. In a reserve mini. Room is spacious. Lights go on and off at will ( several strange situations. If your foot falls off the bed at night this causes the lights to go on! But the worst ( and I loved Princess in the past, this is our 35th cruise). Is an old lumpy mattress. I have alerted housekeeping and the hotel manager. If they don’t replace it , I will be sleeping in the Wheelhouse bar with a big sign. I had to place a pillow lengthwise under my back to get through the night.

We had a delicious lunch! Tuscan chickpea soup, green salad and ricotta ravioli. I was good, only ate One roll and fruit plate for dessert. Embarkation 12-1:30. Sixth floor left side dining room.

But you can sit with them. I suggest you do breakfast and sea days lunch in Reserve and dinners with them. Book a few specialty dining together.

On a comp? Good luck! I’m never doing it again! I nearly had a heart attack.

We did a Greek cruise on the Connie in June. Six of us in three cabins on my dime. My stateroom was comped. A month before we left I check the reservations and changed the bed configurations. That’s all it took to have Celebrity drop the comp! ( we had six flights, hotels , excursions with private guides. I was on the phone for two hours with the casino ( thru Celebrity). I was told never to touch the reservation on line. If you want to change/add anything you must call.

Leaving tomorrow on the Emerald. Got the upgrade to club class ( sorry, reserve) mini. So excited!

We also tip the head waiter in the restaurant. I know some people tip the bartender ( we don’t drink and don’t have the beverage package). Sometimes they give me a free coke so I tip. The waiters on the sundeck when they bring me lunch upstairs. And if the steward is amazing we give extra.

Don’t wait until turn around day. Go the day before. The staff has the morning off until boarding.

Thank you. Each day is a gift. You all will have a fabulous time. We are on the Encore in February ( two bedroom family suite in the Haven with our daughter and two grandchildren. Making memories!

My mother loved cruising. I’m sorry I never got to take her in the Haven. I think CandyApple didn’t mean anything against Gian. Just trying to keep a nice surprise. I have had the speech in both places, in the pre boarding lounge ( which itself is a give away with the pastries and on board in the Haven lounge. Just go with the flow with a big smile and let them figure it out!

We leave on Saturday on the New England/Canada cruise on Emerald Princess. It is 91 degrees in New York. More concerned with rain. The spa menu in the Sanctuary is great and we’ve also ordered hamburgers, hotdogs and pizza from the pool grill in the past. The best is the 3:30 English tea that they served. Hope that still exists.😄

Tried Luminae on Edge and Reflection. Preferred menu in MDR. Go back to The Haven if you want the best suite food. We are on the Silhouette in January in a Celebrity suite and hope it’s an improvement . Service on the Connie in June was the best I’ve had in years. Back in the Haven ( Encore) in February because Celebrity doesn’t sail from NY in winter. Never done Aqua but I hear it’s very nice.

The Butlers on Oceania are not as understaffed. They have time to chat.

I bring my bar of Dove wherever I go. No wrinkles

The lumberjack show is good old fashioned fun too. It’s a great cruise.

You will have a wonderful time. If you can splurge I highly recommend the helicopter to the glacier to do the dog sledding. And if you are on the Yukon railroad sit on the left side. The train does reverse for the scenery but on the way down everyone is asleep!
