  1. Often the spa will send someone to the Haven in order to sign people up for treatments. They usually set up next to the concierge
  2. I’ve always reserved specialty restaurants with the pre cruise concierge and the shows in the pre boarding Haven lounge at the terminal with the asst concierge. They hand you a sheet with listings of shows, times and days while you are waiting to board and the confirmation is in your room later in the day. Unless it’s changed since February.
  3. Yum, garlic butter and French bread
  4. The bread on Princess ships has always been wonderful. It's that like bringing coals to New Castle?
  5. AT&T has cruise plans for use at sea. I take the silver plan for $50 for 30 days ( you decide when you want it to start) .
  6. The AT&T plan works great. I take it out every cruise and in Europe recently I had unlimited use of phone ( calling and texting) for $10 a day. It started on the day I used the phone.
  7. My Husband just heard an advertisement about Celebrity Apex "Legends of Baseball " cruise Dec. 9, 2023 out of Fort Lauderdale. Does anyone know what retired baseball players will be on this cruise? So far we have heard rumors of Chris Chambliss and Ron Blomberg.
  8. I have been on the Regal three times and have never seen a kettle, however I was told to ask your steward if you want one and they will try their best to get it for you!
  9. But remember you are on a cruise and can then go to the entertainment and walk back to your stateroom. I guess everything for me is better when I'm cruising, I have a permanent smile on my face.
  10. I’m envious. I have cruised 50+ times and the Haven is so amazing. The concierge even printed my husbands NYTimes crossword puzzle for him daily . You are going to have the best time.
  11. And remember in the Haven restaurant you can make changes to the menu if they have the ingredients! For instant, surf and surf, classic shrimp cocktail instead of shrimp Louis, shrimp or chicken over Caesar salad, chicken BLT ( yummy) etc. they are more than accommodating.
  12. That’s very encouraging because it’s my exact situation. 🤞🏻🙏
  13. Look for concierge staff in the pre boarding lounge. They will give you a paper with shows, days and times to fill in. After you board speak to the concierge in the Haven to change or add specialty restaurants. But I’ve never had better food anywhere else on the ships than the Haven restaurant. It’s just if you want a change of pace.
  14. We usually book our specialty dining as soon as it opens online and the big shows in the Haven lounge with an asst concierge just before boarding
  15. I guess I’ll just have to spend the saved money in the casino
  16. No it is New England/Canada on Sept 9.😢
  17. Booked mini suite through the casino ( free balcony and they wouldn’t let me upgrade any higher). Would like to cruise Club class and put bids in for club class mini and suites. Pretty substantial for the mini. Haven’t heard anything and 35 days out. Looked online and ship say sold out for all better than an inside. Any hope?
  18. If you want to cruise from NY/NJ you are very limited outside of Haven for anything comparable. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ( usually the small older but lovely Celebrity Summit) and the crappy RCCL Anthem or similar sail from Bayonne. Princess doesn’t have a Haven or Retreat. Just a roped off part of the main dining room and no sundeck or separate pool. Princess has great sized suites and a suite concierge ( and lounge) on the newer ( Royal class and newer) but it’s not even close as an experience. I too would love to sail the newer ships year round.
  19. Tell them in the lounge. Everything is so great that it’s surprise after surprise
  20. After what is spent on the cruise, flights, hotels etc. Definitely take the car service. Especially if your hotel can arrange it for you. Easy with no lifting and dragging luggage. Worry about missing the ship. Leave at nine am and enjoy your cruise. The cost is a drop in the bucket.
  21. Leaving in September on Emerald Princess for New England/Canada. Does Princess ever leave from Westside Manhattan or only from Brooklyn? Can’t get a definitive answer
  22. As long as the ship sails to Glacier Bay, you are good. The best cruise to Alaska we did sailed from Vancouver to Anchorage . Then we took the Princess land tour toDenali via a domed train staying in the lodges all the way to Fairbanks. It was the best of both worlds but the land part cost as much as the cruise. It was fabulous. Princess does a great job in Alaska. Also if you can spring for it , the helicopter to the glacier and dog sledding is amazing. I don’t think the ship matters as much as the time of year. Too early in the season is cold and August has the state bird ( mosquitoes).
  23. I think the fact that there is no professional historian/lecturer on the ship or nights with zero entertainment ( long boring days with no ports and then hit with missing St Louis) except the trio ( actually very good and a duo ( if she played that screeching violin one more time…) . No rock and roll or up to date music. I love Sinatra and the American songbook too but give us a break. A little more variety could have been brought aboard with more thought. But it was the buffet for two out of three meals with lack of service that means that $25,000 does not get you a luxury vacation. Misrepresentation.
