There is a bar in the concierge open for happy hour approx. 5-7 every evening, very social. It two things to remember, the suite itself is luxurious , unlimited laundry, fruit, flowers and the ambiance on the ship is wonderful. The cruise staff is very hands on, many funny programs. They did an exceptional night at the Oscar’s once that had us laughing so hard. No matter what cruise we take when I see the sea witch logo , I smile.

Yes first night free for specialty. The Suite concierge can change reservation as to time and restaurant as soon as you board. Once they actually changed the day too. One cruise we ate every night in a specialty restaurant because the overall cost of the cruise was so low. The food is not bad in the MDR. Something’s they always made well. Pasta, soups, cake, salads, turkey dinner, fried chicken . When they serve lobster tail, tell them to leave off the strange white sauce. Alfredo’s pizza is terrific and in a suite you will get an outstanding special breakfast every morning with a mimosa included at Sabatinis.

The Regal Princess has always been our favorite ship. It just has magic. The feeling on the ship is happy. The entertainment staff goes all out. Princess full suites are wonderful with great storage and large bathrooms ( big shower). The food on Princess has gone steadily downhill and is ok not as good as MDR on Celebrity. There is smoking in the casino ( really terrible). Entertainment on Princess is better than Celebrity especially the comedians ( but not as good as NCL). Itineraries much more interesting on Princess. They have a lock on Alaska. If you can get the Sanctuary ( a big if) you will be in heaven but even you have an owners suite you have to run with the bulls to get signed up. There is no butler, no suite restaurant ( just club class roped off section) no free suite sundeck . The suite concierge on the Regal and newer ships can be very helpful and they host a happy hour. Princess is much less expensive. We have cruises Princess 35 times since 1990 but now book Celebrity suites two to one. No smoking in the casino is important to me.

Don’t wait. Reservations are in high demand. Book for the four of you as soon as you can and either straighten it out once on board or have them pay you back another way.

In the Haven we tip the concierge and butler at the end of the cruise either the amount depending on how much we asked of them. We always tip the steward a little extra first day and last. I tip a few dollars to the bar server and casino server every time. Whether in the Haven or not. NCL is so much fun and lively and jolly but it will be a shock coming from Regent ( we’ve been and done) and Silversea ( not for us).

That’s sad. Even Princess does a better job. For suites and Elite. And so far the suite level on Royal Caribbean and NCL Haven are tops. And Celebrity suites are so expensive! Hopefully it will be better treatment once on board. Also our first time on the Edge, so I’m nervous about that. We loved the Reflection, Equinox and Eclipse

Problems with casino reservation

That's great. I've been sorry since I booked this cruise through the casino. My husband keeps saying ( so annoying) you get what you pay for. If I cancel, I lose the deposit. -

Does anyone know if we can upgrade once the bidding process starts. Or are we denied that chance too? -
Eddy Jenkins is terrific. A real professional and his four lectures are great.

Problems with casino reservation

Yes but I asked twice on two different phone calls so I don’t know if they changed or what -
We were on the Breakaway in the comedy club and there were several teens there with parents. The comedian commented on that and may have toned sown his set but no one asked them to leave.

We are on the Constellation in Greece in June and I was very dismayed at the age cut offs. We are travelling with family , three staterooms on my dime with ages from 14, 17, 44,45 to us 75 and 78. According to Celebrity we can't tour together. We booked private guides for Ephesus and Athens and Santorini but at some other ports we have to split up! The 'old folks' have to spend the day on a "panorama tour" bus. Why would I do a family trip again on Celebrity?

Ha! Yes I had to pay in full at booking but was willing to do it. They would not let me go higher than a regular mini -
Problems with casino reservation

I was willing to upgrade to a suite when I initially made the reservation but the casino wouldn’t let me. The most they let me upgrade to was a mini ( not even club class. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do it later. But you are right that the suites will probably be gone by then. -
Got an email that we got a free balcony cabin plus $400 free play. Usually cruise club class mini or suite. Tried to upgrade but they would only do a regular mini. Figured we go ahead. Booked Emerald for fall. Love the Emerald. Tried to book excursions. No go. Kept coming up error with name. Called three times. Princess number transferred me to casino. They can’t figure it out. Now I’m waiting for someone higher up the food chain to figure it out. Can’t cancel as they’ll keep my deposit. Does anyone know if you can upgrade a casino cabin? If I’m stuck on the ship I’d like a suite!

Agree. Call main number and have them transfer you.

Do we need to prioritize getting onboard?
Treasure Hunter replied to gzmtlock's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
What! That’s terrible and very stressful. Why should lazy slugs get into shows before those that plan!😁 -
Yes our booking has my husband and I full freight, my daughter as third in the room and the two kids free. Some of the cabins are like clown cars.

The cruise critic reviews can be very helpful. You can even look at individual cabin types. Also just do a search on YouTube for ship and cabin to see exactly what you’re getting into.
