  1. In the past, theater seats were first come first served for everyone but now I believe if you buy a premiere package you will have reserve seats. Unlike NCL Haven and Celebrity retreat, Princess suites get nothing. However , I have never been on the new Sun and I believe their Sanctuary staterooms might automatically get reserve seats. After 35 Princess cruises, we have always gotten a seat if we show up 30 minutes before the show.
  2. Yes. June 4th for logistical reasons is leaving from Manhattan cruise terminal pier 88. Don’t know where we will be on the 14th when we come back. Did not hear this from Princess just from passengers on board now . No official email. If you call you are told Brooklyn if you do live chat you are told Manhattan! TAs are told they don’t know. Nuts
  3. Thanks! That’s really helpful. My husband was t happy that he might miss the NHL playoffs after watching all season
  4. There is also a set up of early morning coffee and Danishes at the Haven pool. And the concierge will take you down to the shows early so you can pick your seat closer than the Javen reserve seats ( but do make a reservation for the big shows).
  5. CenTexan. Can you ask at customer service for us? Maybe someone can find out from the captain if we all go to Brooklyn or not. It’s a real pickle
  6. That’s the problem. Even for us. Maybe the more people that ask will help get an answer. Especially those that use TAs
  7. I spoke to Princess today and they swear the port is Brooklyn and if there is a change they will email us. However, people on the current cruise were notified that they will be docking in Manhattan! And cruisemapper.com shows that the ship is docking in Manhattan. So I guess June 4th will be an interesting day.
  8. I just saw that people now on the Island were told that they are docking at the Manhattan cruise terminal instead of Brooklyn! Can anyone verify this? I’ve been trying to get through to Princess but can’t get an answer. This is a nightmare for people who are parking.
  9. More cruising for me. I was surprised that my husband agreed to add the extra week on since we had just been to Venice, Ravenna and Kotor etc. in August. There’s been so many changes since we first booked the Allura that my head is spinning. I hope it will be worth it.
  10. You could be right which is why we added the first week from Trieste . I want to be the first to sleep in that bed. But our TA was repeatedly told that all maiden voyage events will take place after Athens.
  11. We were told that the July 18th cruise is not the inaugural cruise but a shakedown cruise. We signed up to add it on but it is confusing.
  12. Double check the boarding window. You might not have enough time. Traffic in Athens can be really bad.
  13. If you have Reserve Collection dining ( suite or mini suite) it used to be called Club Class, you need no reservations at all. Just show up whenever the dining room is open.
  14. We are leaving from Brooklyn on June 4 and sail away is 4:00
  15. We took the Princess excursion and it was great. The bus driver was wonderful and very caring if you needed any help. The gift shop is a lot of fun. We just did Princess excursions and they were all great. I remover seeing hundreds of puffins on one and amazing horses ( they walked with a special gait and eating salmon. Great cruises.
  16. Have you seen the episodes where Raymond’s family goes to Italy to stay with his Mothers cousin. They are so funny that I was laughing out loud on an airplane.
  17. That’s my point exactly! It’s an opportunity
  18. We find the Princess has some really good movies that we’ve never seen in our area ( or on TV) like Walking on Sunshine, Princesses Night Out, Twenty Feet from Stardom and a few Churchill biopics. Real jewels that we enjoy and they’re free!
  19. Definitely book pre-cruise to get the dates, times you prefer
  20. Don’t dismiss the Sanctuary without trying it once. It’s really wonderful. Best view on the ship. Staff really pampers( hot chocolate and blanked in cool weather). They will also bring you burgers, hot dogs, pizza if you prefer it to the spa menu ( really quite good). The afternoon tea served at 3:00 and included is stellar with mini sandwiches, scones, cream, etc. ) and no one can sit on your lounge or take it away from you. There are also fabulous cabanas with tv and refrigerator ( includes m and m candies) for an up charge. Although I know people have gotten those through the casino. It’s a real first class experience
  21. You will have more room and a larger sofa/couch in a mini also I believe there is a curtain that can be pulled.
  22. The Sky is a lovely ship. You will have a great time
  23. It is a sectioned off part of one of the mains with a separate entrance ( red rope separation with a young lady at the podium with your name. You come anytime the dining room is open ( usually between 5-9. The head waiter will prepare one special appetizer or dessert and one extra main at each dinner. You can get a table for two with no problem, after the first night they will know. The wait staff is the best on the ship.
  24. We are on the Island June 4-14 for a cockamamie cruise with only 4 ports- Boston, Halifax, Norfolk and Charleston. We were on her the first year she sailed. Any cruise is great. This will be our 35th on Princess. We love the entertainment especially the nighttime games and quizzes. Plenty on time on this cruise. Not happy about the small casino although I heard they added more slots in the music venue next to the casino. Wish they’d do away with the smoking. Food is just fine.
