  1. We flew out of Terminal 2. The guard did not ask our airline, just the time.
  2. We flew home from FLL yesterday. Our flight was at Noon and we arrived at the airport around 8:40 a.m. (We were on the Sky Princess). I was holding my breath when the guard asked me our flight time. Fortunately, she let us go through. FLL was pretty calm yesterday, The last time I was there (February 1, 2020), it was chaos.
  3. I just stayed at the Riverside Hotel on January 12th. We took a shuttle from the hotel to the Port for $12 each. Easy peasy.
  4. We stayed at The Riverside Hotel on January 12th. It’s a lovely hotel on Las Olas Boulevard. Had dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant which was very good. We took a shuttle to the Port on Saturday morning. $12 each. I would stay here again. I can highly recommend.
  5. When we got the offer to bid, the minimum bid for the Forward Facing Club Class Mini-Suite was less than the minimum bid for the Club Class Mini-Suite. I am glad there was a distinction because I wouldn’t want the Forward Facing Mini-Suite due to the metal balcony railing. I prefer plexiglass so I can see the water when sitting down.
  6. Great! Thank you! Yes, they are boxed nicely. I took a picture and sent it to my travel companion. All I said was “Yahoo”. 😁. One week from today! 🛳️
  7. Yes! They came today. I didn’t take the box apart because it looks so nice. 😁. Are the lanyards in there, too? They must be, right?
  8. Just checked my status - “Out For Delivery. Expected by 4:30 p.m.” Woohoo! 😁🛳️
  9. Fingers crossed for you. Can you please tell me how to check on your bid? TIA!
  10. You do not know the room number. I currently have a bid in for a Reserve Class Mini-Suite on the Sky Princess in January. If I win the bid, our new cabin will be assigned and my cc will be charged. No going back. At least that’s the way I understand it.
  11. I decided to bid on a Club Class Mini-Suite for our cruise in January. I only bid a little over the minimum, so I don’t have high hopes. If we get it fine, if not, that’s fine, too. Now we wait. 😁
  12. No problem. I am still on the fence about bidding on the upgrade. I have had CC dining once and it was very nice to just walk up and be seated. I may bid, but only a little over the minimum. I feel pretty confident that they won’t put us in a CC Forward Facing Mini Suite, since the two categories are separate on the bidding email. Thanks for your help. Enjoy your cruise.
  13. Thank you. I did a search on YouTube for a “Sky a Princess Forward Facing Club Class Mini Suite” and the tour of the cabin showed solid balconies, both on the side and the front. However, the video I was watching didn’t really say what ship they were on. I believe the cabin number was L103, but I am not positive about that. I would have to look again. Thanks for your help.
  14. Thank you for for your response. So, are you saying that in a Forward Facing Mini Suite there is a regular PLEXI-GLASS balcony on the side (where you can sit and look at the water) in addition to the huge balcony facing forward (which, I understand, is not plexiglass)?
  15. I wonder if someone can answer a quick question for me. I received the email offering upgrade opportunities for a Caribbean cruise we are taking in January on the Sky, I am considering placing a bid on a Club Class Mini (we are in a mini now). They also offer a Forward Facing CC Mini, which I do NOT want (the minimum bid is lower for this cabin). If I bid ONLY on the CC Mini, is there any chance they would put us in a Forward Facing CC mini? TIA 😁
  16. Are you on the Sky Princess? We have decided on The Riverside. Seems to be a favorite.
  17. My friend and I are on the Sky Princess in January in a Mini-Suite. I just received the email a little while ago offering us several upgrade opportunities. Not really interested in spending the money to get into a full suite, but we are tempted to bid for a Club Class mini-suite. I was in a CC Mini-suite on the Regal a few years ago and it was very nice to have the CC dining. We are getting together tomorrow and will discuss it. I guess I have some concerns about the location, but I don’t think any of those CC minis are in a bad location. I currently have a mini-suite with an extended balcony.
  18. Well, it was 1982. Not steerage, but, obviously, the smallest cabin on the ship and the ship was small. I am pretty sure I was expecting a cabin like the ones on “The Love Boat”. It was a little bit of a reality check. 😁
  19. My late husband and I were on the NCL Starward in 1982. Our first cruise. We had an inside cabin. I remember that I was shocked at the small size. Felt like a closet with a bathroom. 😁. I got terribly seasick. If I remember correctly, the Starward was 17,000 tons. Very small by today’s standards. We had a lot of fun, though. I am considering the Breakaway with a friend for next September. That ship will be a tad bigger. 😁
  20. I stayed there three times prior to Covid. I am cruising again in January out of Fort Lauderdale and have decided against the Hampton Inn Plantation because the TripAdvisor reviews are not very good. Sounds like it has gone downhill in the last three years, We are staying at the Riverside Hotel this time. Seems to be popular.
  21. Carnival (2x) NCL (2x) Holland America (1x) Princess (5th coming up in January) Disney (2x)
  22. Ugh. I was on the Regal Princess or the Sky Princess (can’t remember which) with “Andy Cooney’s Cruise of Irish Stars” three or four years ago. Do you think the polka group will have more of an impact or is a larger group of people? It was really no big deal. I was on an elevator with RonanTynan, so I had a celebrity sighting. 😁
  23. Thanks for making me feel young at age 72. 😁
  24. Ugh. My friend and I are on this cruise. I was hopeful that this group wouldn’t be disruptive. There are folks on my Roll Call that have cruised with this group on board before and said it was fine. They mostly use the Vista Lounge. I am sorry to read this. ☹️
