  1. If they cover with staff with capacity when there are many children onboard during school holidays and many cabins occupy 4 they would be overstaffed for the rest of year.
  2. Unfortunately that is never going to happen as the cabins are all full, just that in school holidays there are many filled with 4, usually 2 adults & 2 children and rest of time just 2 adults.
  3. We went to Keel & Cow on Iona in March and had the T+ Bone steak and it was excellent.
  4. Have held Carnival shares since 2011 and done many cruises with Princess, Cunard and P&O and have never had shareholder benefit refused. Also been combined with many other OBC offers.
  5. I agree but you can lessen the chance of high .umbers as in during school holidays.
  6. Yes if you have booked for that show you can arrive anytime before start of show, but you will have limited choice of seat. The booking of theatre stops the need to queue.
  7. That is why we never book a cruise during school holidays. It is nothing new there has always been this problem during school holidays for the 26 yrs I have been cruising.
  8. No it's not your problem but it is a problem that every cruise ship on every line has to do and Durkin g school holidays they have to cope with same number as staff as rest of the year. Unlike land based hotels if short staffed can call in agency staff cruise lines cannot.
  9. You could have large plates or trip of dishes in Glass House on Iona in March.
  10. Unfortunately you don't know which menu you get when you pre book in Epicurean prior to the cruise. Would be a lot easier if they told you which menu was available on which date.
  11. But how do you suggest P&O to do it because there is sufficient staff currently but you say they would need more staff just for school holidays. Where are they going to get those extra staff from just for a short period of say 2 weeks.
  12. No they cannot increase staff just for a short period during school holidays. The staff are all employed on lengthy 8-9 month contracts and they are not going to increase staff numbers for majority of cruises just so they are available for school holidays.
  13. You don't get to choose your seats when booking and you cannot book all shows pre cruise. You have to book via the "app" or phoning when onboard to make bookings. If 8-30 show is full, which it usually is, if you haven't booked they won't let you in.
  14. No that is the corporate excuse to stop providing body lotion and conditioner. Everyone knows the real reason is to save money and wish P&O would stop treating their customers as if they are idiots. At least they haven't said "due to operational reasons".
  15. No it was during school term. All ships are stretched during school holidays due to a lot of cabins having 4 (2 adults and 2 children) in where out of school holidays will only have 2 adults.
  16. No great signs of being short staffed on Iona in March and the ship was full.
  17. They are regulars on P&O we have seen them at least twice.
  18. No coffee pod machines in balcony cabins.
  19. Unfortunately it is not just P&O but other cruise lines and travel companies that adopted the fluid pricing years ago. I have been monitoring prices on TUIs website for a holiday in July to Austria and have been doing so since early March. The prices have been up and down as often as on a daily basis and also some with differing discount codes.
  20. I don't see the attraction in sitting in a bar all night drinking alcohol but some do. We are all different and have different things that we enjoy thankfully. Just because you don't like theatres equally doesn't mean everyone else should feel the same.
  21. I think on our recent cruise on Iona I don't think the cabin steward cleaned the balcony or even went on it for the whole 14nts. Furniture was always in the same position as we had always left it.
  22. We can argue all day long about food and restaurants on cruise ships because food is a very personal opinion and what one person thinks is fantastic another might not. It doesn't mean one is better than the other just that we all have differing tastes.
  23. Balcony cabins are very expensive and personally for virtually the same price would prefer Queen Victoria. Far better food and experience than on P&O IMO.
