  1. She didn't need a dry dock to facilitate these repairs and they have been successfully completed in Southampton.
  2. Actual ball gowns are in the minority on QM2 TA. We have done a few roundtrip TA's and never seen that many women wearing actual ball gowns, elegant formal evening dresses are more common.
  3. No the QM2 has now had her repairs completed. It was reported that they wouldn't be allowed to sail anywhere until repairs were completed. Liverpool is just a normal port call and is Cunard's spiritual home so makes sense.
  4. How did they cancel voyages to replace with Coronation cruise. The TA from Southampton was cancelled to facilitate repairs. After consultation with company doing repairs they knew when it would be completed. They wouldn't have enough time to get to New York to carry out 30th April TA to Southampton. Therefore rather than the ship sitting in Southampton doing nothing and not earning money they managed to arrange Coronation Cruise with a port stop at Liverpool. Good business practice especially in how Carnival are in such debt. They didn't use the issue to cancel cruises they had to get the ship repaired at Southampton. I am sure they would have preferred to carry on as scheduled and would have made far more money in doing so.
  5. Wouldn't get excited about Wavelength we saw it on Iona in March. Unfortunately it is 1 HR of my life I cannot get back. All it is is a hashed version of Mr & Mrs.
  6. It didn't go on sale until today (Wednesday) at 1pm so sold out a lot quicker than 24hrs.
  7. Just been informed of a free 13 grade update from inside to balcony on our roundtrip TA on QM2 on 18th May. Just hope she is repaired and has no problems on her Coronation and Fjords cruise. First upgrade with Cunard since 1997.
  8. Stanley Matthews Stoke's best ever player a true legend
  9. They haven't been a available to UK cruiser's since COVID but we're still available to US citizens. Have had long communications with Cunard's Chief Executive office in UK and also with Future Sales onboard. The last one suggested I book onboard a cruise I have no intention going on and extra OBC would be applied. Then when the new brochure is released move cruise to one of my choice and extra OBC would be moved. I said cannot believe she was suggesting do such a thing and she went all colours.
  10. Well I recently, last few days, changed my cabin on a future cruise on Arvia and on finishing phone call to TA the cabin I had chosen had gone off sale and the one I moved from became available. You cannot be more up to date than that and believe my TA when told the availability they have is same as P&O and shown on their website.
  11. Same happened with me couple of days ago when I rang my TA to change cabins. She told me the available cabins she sees on her system are exactly the same as what you can check on P&Os website.
  12. After recently returned from Iona and stood on deck watching children throwing water over the edge and thinking it was hilarious. Also read many reports on cruise forums and Faceache of balconies on aft of ship being constantly wet and unusable because it felt like it was raining all the time. I have couple of days ago changed my aft cabin on Arvia for September to a different cabin and will be doing the same for my cruise in April next week.
  13. Football shirts might be very expensive but that doesn't make them "smart" and end of the day are still football shirts. You can buy dinner suits from many outlets for less than designer jeans but are a lot more smarter.
  14. Don't know but I have received an email from one TA with prices for all grades of cabins and also seen at least one other advertising it on Faceache.
  15. You may well be right with regards to Iona doing repeated 7nt cruises to Norway. Not everyone wants to go to Norway and also not everyone wants to do 7nt cruises. So there may well be cheap prices for Iona as they struggle to fill her because of her summer itinerary. I booked Arvia in highest grade balcony cabin in June with free parking for £120 per night. I think to guarantee your cabin and not rely on what might be left and including free parking that is a very reasonable price to pay.
  16. Phone call received from my cruise TA at 0850hrs, which is used by many on here, that my pre registration request for cruise on Arvia in 2025 has been booked. Also confirmed 1st choice of cabin of the 8 I gave them. Well pleased.
  17. When I moved a cruise with my well known and used by many it was a simple process. Just informed them by phone I wanted to move a booked cruise they took details of new cruise and then asked me to send them an e-mail confirming cancellation of original cruise. All very simple and easy done very quickly.
  18. Now on sale with TAs at a very good price.
  19. When we're on Iona in March when we used the shuttle everyone had their cruise card scanned as they got on the bus in Barcelona and Lisbon. We had booked Select so was not charged I assume that those that weren't Select had the charge added to their onboard account.
  20. No it doesn't website doesn't show sold out voyages automatically unless you use filter to show sold out voyages. Nothing sinister at all.
  21. They never show if sold out of you go to filter and tick show sold out voyages they will appear. This is normal practice and we are on 18-5 to 2-6 and has been sold out for a while and has not shown unless you do what I said above even before current problems.
  22. Normally if you have booked via a TA P&O will not discuss anything regarding the cruise if you contact them and will tell you to contact your TA. I should imagine the same would happen if you spoke to P&O whilst onboard, but moving a cruise is a very simple operation for your TA. Or at least it was with my TA when I did it.
  23. Iona's normal operating capacity is 5206 but during school holidays when many of cabins will occupy 4 instead of the normal 2 so will increase capacity at this time. Unfortunately they cannot increase staff just for shorter periods to cover school holidays because it is impractical to employ staff just for such short periods. If they employed the number required during school holidays due to higher capacity then they would be overstaffed for majority of the year. Unfortunately this might mean slower service and queues during school holidays.
  24. Yes the cabins can all be full with majority holding 2 adults but some can take 4 with a sofa bed and a bed that comes out of the ceiling. Usually occupied by children, so for that reason all cabins will be occupied but with a varying different capacity especially during school holidays. This is common on many cruise ships on all cruise lines.
