  1. Great! I am glad you were able to find a solution.
  2. Actually, we really liked it! It was a last minute booking so we could go with my sister and BIL and our favorite aft cabins were not available. So, I thought, why not? We were in L103 on the Regal. The cabin was actually very private, light and bright with a loveseat. The views were amazing and a GIGANTUAN balcony! Our next door neighbors in L101 even had a bigger balcony than us and had strung up a hammock. So now......... how to pack a hammock in an extra bag... hmmm I would not hesitate to book one of these again. It is now our Go-To if our favorite aft cabins are not available. P.S. You can use it anytime, even when in port.
  3. Thanks @memoak! As a surprise to DH, I booked an aft Vista Suite on the Caribbean Princess for 2024 (a Transatlantic). I also discovered that there are not bathroom shelves in these suites on the older ships. Truly, they could easily install some, but I appreciate your suggestion. After all, it is a corner aft!
  4. Incorrect, you can use the balcony anytime. We were in a forward cabin on the Regal on the Lido deck. It was a balcony, not a suite and our door was never locked. You do need to keep your drapes completely closed at night or all lights off. The metal barrier does impede your view so you need to stand up or stack deck chairs, or sit on the table to see out. (LOL, these were hints provided on CC).
  5. Thank you. I know about code sharing, but this one threw me a bit.
  6. I do not know what kind of medication you are using; my first thought was would an insulated "lunch bag" work; place an ice pack in it like for school kids.
  7. We had a big wind and rain storm yesterday. There are branches everywhere. On the bright side, the OP got home before the snowstorm.
  8. We were on the Grand this last September. A few days before disembarking, you will receive an explanation of the choices for which you will sign up for. We chose independent walk off, first group and handled our own luggage. We had a meeting area (Crown Grill) and they told us when we could proceed. We were the first off.
  9. To me, this would be a trip of a lifetime. It is so far away. Flying in the day of is a real stressor for us and cruises are supposed to be a relaxing enjoyable time. You have had some great advice and there are so many variables, especially with the craziness in the flight business. Why do you not have the option to change your flights? Maybe a later time would work out better.
  10. 1. Flying in a day ahead to Rome really will not be of much help to "sightsee a day in Rome". Have you already been to Rome? We flew in 3 days a head and hardly scratched the surface. We LOVE Rome! But, now you are flying in the day of. 2. I would be terrified to arrive on cruise day. So many things can happen that
  11. Yes, thank you. We knew it would at least help to use the benefit of TSA. However, I know that TSA is not guaranteed.
  12. Our experience has shown that we just need to complete everything and then we are in the Green Lane. It did not matter when we arrived, because you just go through the process (through all of the hoops) more quickly and then according to your Loyalty Level, that is where they will have you wait. If this is your first cruise with Princess and you are in a wheelchair, you will be first to board.
  13. Thank you @klfrodo. And hello neighbor! I was not familiar with the term "Skywest Dba Delta Connection".
  14. Take a look at the deck plans on the Princess website. Go to the Dolphin deck and you will see the difference. Look at D630 and the D702, You will see that those on the Sun deck are the same size as D630.
  15. Thank you for your response. I thought Delta was in the same area, but hopefully it will be fine. This will be our first time using Global Entry. I wish it helped overseas.
  16. I booked our flights through Princess EZAir with comfortable connecting time. I received notice that the flights had been changed and I would like comments on the time factor. On June 1, 2023, we fly on flight #1924 from PDX and land at Seatac at 12:30 pm on Skywest DBA Delta Connection and need to get to Virgin Atlantic which departs at 1:45 pm for LHR. We both now have Global Entry. I presume our check on bag will be placed the LHR flight? Research has shown that Virgin Atlantic operates out of the South Gates I am unable to find where Skywest is. Thanks
  17. Yes, we will be on the Caribbean Princess and I love the full covers. There is something to be said about the Grand Class.
  18. That is right! Now I remember being able to book shore excursions without paying up front. Memory Lane.....
  19. You really are not there long enough. We were in London for 3 days and it would have not been worth it.
  20. Go to the following link. The very first question/ topic is transfers from London. It is a HUGE thread! https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/
  21. @luckyinpa What exactly is your question?
  22. Agreed. It just seems silly that you can't use OBC for that. It really does not seem any different from booking a shore excursion.
  23. Have you been in an aft VS before? Do you love it? I have booked one for next year and it is a surprise for DH. When we go our cabin, he will just think that we are going to our "usual" aft cabin.
  24. The Sun deck has the smaller balconies. If you look at the Princess website and deck plans, these are the smaller ones. Compare them to the Dolphin deck beginning with 701.
