  1. One of my initial thoughts include the small possibility of needing to fly home, due to medical needs or something happened at home. A Passport should always be with you when traveling outside of the country. We even take it with us when flying within the USA.
  2. LOL! Thanks for the sharing! I also will order two of something so there is no waiting for the second glass of wine. I began doing this on the Emerald and Grand because the wine pours are smaller than before Covid.
  3. Valid Passports are also accepted without a "Real ID compliant" driver's license, correct? The link lists several options.
  4. Lovely! (referring to Post #15)
  5. It is a shame, however, people also need to take some responsibility and actually read their travel documents from the cruise line. Princess also is in need of better employee training. Agreed that a Passport should be the standard.
  6. Sadly, that is not true. The casinos are as smoky as ever!
  7. @iamaqt2 I am enjoying your comments with your highs and lows! I would love to know details on how you indulged you alcoholic beverage package?
  8. We were on the Regal in the Fall of 2018 and really love that ship!
  9. Fellow Washingtonian- I am so glad you arrived safely and in a timely manner! We also took an Uber from LAX (2018) and our driver was fantastic (cheap then at $35.00) .We chatted about things we had in common after being born and raised in S. CAl. We also stayed at the Crowne Plaza. Ugh... you did great on the restaurants. Especially the Mexican food.
  10. I LOVE mushroom risotto and have made it from scratch on the stove method. I have discovered a fantastic Instant pot recipe that is great.
  11. Phew! I just completed reading all of the posts. I wanted to mention that my favorite red wine is an Old Vine Zinfandel. When not in Italy (this is a Primitivo wine), I enjoy an inexpensive wine called "OZV: and this is from Lodi, California. We live on the West Coast so it is easily obtained at our grocery stores, Trader Joes, etc. "In general, California winemakers allow Zinfandel to ripen with higher sugar levels and alcohol content giving the wine a more smooth and sweet style. On the other hand, Primitivo ripens under the hot Italian sun, creating the heartier, less fruity and less sweet version of its California counterpart. Although basically formed from the same grape, the names Primitivo and Zinfandel are not to be used interchangeably. Despite US labeling laws, Italian winemakers often still use the name Zinfandel on their Italian Primitivo wines that are sold in the US."
  12. I also forgot to include our "not crazy" about the Coral either.
  13. Thanks for your comment. We will be on the CB in November 2024 for a TA, so I was curious. We loved the Golden and enjoyed the Grand, but not the Emerald (internal issues?) and will not book that ship. We also very much loved the Regal , so we will see.
  14. Hi Neighbor! We are on the coast and lost power for 5 hours and now have it back. The strong winds howled all night and now it is calm. True, we do not want to entertain holiday travel due to potential travel complications with crazy weather. Safe travels!
  15. Sorry, they were not to be sarcastic. I am glad that you have good experiences. Our Aunt traveled with us and she would comment the same.
  16. Funny... we were on the Regal Princess in September 2018 and the Celebrity Reflection in October 2018. NOW, WE AVOID CELEBRITY!!! We fell in love with the Regal Princess! When we boarded, we went up to the buffet and the crew was ecstatic due to their 100% fantastic grade from the health department. Then there was the Reflection buffet with flies everywhere........ oh, and snooty crew.
  17. I noticed the same thing. This seems to be a new thing for Princess and very frustrating. We have cruised with Princess 8 times. If I am serious about selecting an itinerary, I go to my TA website to see if the cabin I want is available. Then I book with our TA. Keep in mind, that it is not typically cheaper to book directly with the cruise line, which is why we book through a TA and get benefits with that.
  18. LOL! I am very familiar with your neck of the woods. I was born in S. Cal and grew up there. We left 28 years later and now live on the N. WA coast; if it gets to 72 degrees, we turn on our A/C.
  19. So very true; I have learned to not do laundry on a sea day. We were on the Emerald in May and I went up to the Aloha deck to do mine and was shocked at how this was the smallest laundry room I have ever been in on Princess! It was the quarantine deck but it was open. Somehow I waited for a washer and gave up on drying our clothes. I just hung them up in our room. The laundry rooms quiet down much later in the day.
  20. You may be able to book a food tour. We had a blast with ours.
  21. Absolutely!!! @cruisemom42 is correct in people saying that this is a one time trip. Because we cruised an Italy and Greece itinerary in October 2018 and we fell in love with Italy; we are planning a return trip that will begin as a land tour first and a Trans Atlantic home to the states (the cruise begins in Rome/ Civitavecchia).
