  1. Thank you for the thorough review. The menus and meal photos have me looking forward to our January Vista sailing even more. I liked that you included some info on The Artist Loft. Do you know if guests have to sign up in advance for the classes? Mark
  2. Lewis reminded me of Richard Spacey too. Both involved, entertaining and fun. Those two and John Grantham were my top three. Have never sailed with Sue Denning even though I've sailed almost every Celebrity ship.
  3. @DrKoob I have been following you with interest as we are booked on the Vista in 3 months. Can you please check out the Artist Loft? I was wondering if there is an artist in residence and if so, do they offer a class each day. When we were on the Riviera 10 years ago, my spouse went to almost all the classes while I went to afternoon tea. Thanks and enjoy!
  4. On our Rotterdam cruise 7 night cruise in March 2022, we thoroughly enjoyed the Lincoln Center Stage musicians. Even though they didn't bring them onboard until halfway thru the cruise, there were several performances that were very well attended. Hopefully, HAL will bring regularly scheduled classical performances back, especially on transatlantic sailings with all the sea days. From what I understand, Oceania still has a string quartet every day at afternoon tea and other times during their sailings. I look forward to that on my Vista cruise in January.
  5. Helen, I'm glad you used an exclamation point and smiley at the end of the last sentence. That way I know you really don't believe non smokers hate you. It's the smell of cigarette smoke that non smokers can't tolerate, not you personally! On a Rotterdam 7 night end of March last year cruise, the smoke drifted over so bad that I couldn't even sit on the port side of the sea view pool. A shame because the area would of been so nice to enjoy. I hope the situation in that area would be better on a transatlantic sailing. Mark
  6. Your explanation on how to use your iPhone onboard is the best I have ever seen. Thank you for the clear instructions. Mark
  7. I would definitely speak to the Concierge and explain the situation. You shouldn't have to be disturbed by another passenger's television. Perhaps they could offer to move you to another cabin. Something similar happened to us on a Celebrity cruise. After we made the Captain's Club host aware of an excessive noise problem, they moved us and we even got an upgrade. I hope this situation is resolved to your satisfaction.
  8. On the Equinox a couple of months ago we just had one evening chic night on a six nighter. Originally, when they loaded activities on the app several weeks before the sailing it showed two. By the time of the cruise it was changed.
  9. Just priced our current booking under the new program. Our Vista A2, without air, went up $100 PP. The reservation was made 10 months ago. 10 night sailing. As I am not interested in the excursion credit & not interested in a drinks package that only gives us wine at lunch and dinner, I am sticking with the olife promo. At least it included 600 OBC to use on anything. Some of which I already used to pay for the gratuities. Unless we become enamored with the Vista, this second cruise with Oceania will probably be our last unless they return to an olife type promo.
  10. There are two very active conversations about the new program right here on the Oceania message board. One is up to 16 pages now. Lots of discussion and debate about Simply More. Perhaps someone who is good at posting links in a reply can point you to them.
  11. Thank you for the advice. I am sure Celebrity will send an email when those bookings open but someone here might have advance information. I usually transfer the reservation to a mid sized online and phone in agency for the extra onboard credit. The agent is very nice but I don't think she would have the time to let me know any sooner than folks here on CC.
  12. I could try that. I have a feeling I would loose the extra onboard credit that came with the Book Later reservation. The fine print on the flyer is confusing I'll have to dissect it. I don't imagine Celebrity would extend the use by date.
  13. Thank you for finding that thread, I missed it. If Celebrity's time frame is the same this year, it appears my Book Later reservation will have expired by the time the bookings open.
  14. Hi, I was on a 6 night Equinox sailing last month. There was 1 Evening Chic night, day 5 which was a sea day. All other nights were Smart Casual. We had a terrific time on the ship, crew was wonderful. Enjoy.
  15. What is your guess as to when Celebrity will release the Spring 2025 Transatlantic sailings for booking? I purchased a "Book Later" reservation on the Equinox on May 26 and it needs to be applied within 6 months. The Future Cruise Office onboard was not able to provide a date when those sailings will be opened up. The last "Book Later" I got in January, allowed a year to complete the booking. Thanks for your input.
  16. Last week on Equinox we dined in BLU for every breakfast and all dinners except one. The hostess sat us in the same area each evening and most mornings. We were lucky to have the same serving team and sommelier. Even though we paid gratuities thru Always Included, we discreetly handed a cash tip (no envelope) to the waiter, assistant waiter and wine server on the last night. Even in Murano I gave an extra cash gratuity to the waiter even though gratuity was added to the specialty fee. The staff there is wonderful. I am not sure if the Murano servers keep it for themselves or put it into a pool for the staff. Also, gave extra to our wonderful room attendant.
  17. It's great to read that BLU was outstanding earlier this month on Equinox, as we will be in an Aqua stateroom in a few days!
  18. slw207693, Thank you for taking the time to post the photos. Enjoy the sailing.
  19. I also found the option to pre pay the gratuities on the website in the drinks package section I went ahead and paid them and was able to deduct it from my OBC balance. Now I don't have to think about it again and I still have OBC to pay for drinks.
  20. I like the menu also. I already know what I'll order in January! Have only sailed Oceania once, almost a decade ago. I'm sure I enjoyed Jacques but it won't make a difference to me that it isn't on Vista.
  21. I have been able to in the past and plan on calling this week to do so for my upcoming cruise. The balance of the OBC in the planner won't cover the total upgrade amount. I'll use a credit card for the difference.
  22. I agree with all BeachTunes noted above. Have been to Petite Chef on the 3 Edge class ships and enjoyed each time. A really fun diversion from the ordinary. Each had a different video and menu. I would encourage the original poster to rebook.
  23. You may want to look at the difference in fare by upgrading on your own without using a move up bid. I recently did and it came out a bit less expensive than the minimum upgrade offer. Especially with the Captains Club one category upgrade for AQ. Upgrading on your own also gives you an immediate cabin assignment. There is no guarantee that a move up bid will be accepted, especially at the minimum bid. Upgrading on my own gave me my control of my reservation, so I don't have to wait to find out if I am sailing in AQ.
  24. I don't believe there is anywhere to find out who is working on any given ship now or in the future. There used to be a CC member who posted a detailed spreadsheet for each Celebrity ship senior staff. I believed the CC member got in big trouble after a while. It was probably an invasion of privacy of all those employees shown on the spreadsheet. I have had my favorite cruise directors, unfortunately they no longer sail with Celebrity as they left the business.
