  1. Just a correction regarding suite perks. Dec we sailed in a full suite 28 nights. You do not get MDR menu's to order from anymore AND even full suites pay $5 room service fees for everything except the morning menu for a continental breakfast. The room service fee is included in the highest priced alcohol package.

Don’t forget Princess plus also covers your gratuities.  Between that and the Wi-Fi you only need about 3 wines to make it worthwhile

That's assuming you want to keep the suggested gratuity at their exorbitant daily rate. I prefer to reduce them to a more realistic amount. If you are at a Platinum or higher level the wifi rate is discounted 50% and you can share one devise.

  3. The tipping on a cruise is a rip off and the cruise company keeps a portion of it. When I tip at home I know who I'm tipping and why. The cruise is only a suggestion and can be adjusted down at guest services.

Quantum of the Seas recently over-booked and denied and turned away several payed up passengers when they tried to board.  So yes, it does happen now.   They didn't really get compensated that well either, I don't think.

I doubt that. I think people are denied boarding because they don't have the right documentation IE passports. With ships having 3,000 - and more passengers they just keep going down the list with these offers until someone takes them up on it. Unlike an airplane which has a few hundred people to ask to change flights.

The only way to get the benefit is via Stockperks. They’ll know your name, that you own shares of CCL, and your booking number. If you’re truly uncomfortable with that, the shareholder benefit may not be worth it to you.

It is not the only way. I did it via email just last week. Princess told me next month they plan to roll out a web version too. Not everyone uses a smart phone or even if they do won't download these glitchy apps.

We sailed on Sky over Christmas/NY in a full suite. First, items from Crown Grill were available on Room Service menu and these items carried an extra charge. Next, a full suite benefit is free room service from the MDR menu. rgia in the lounge was able to keep our times and get my three dinners refunded (as an OBC).

Full suites do not get included room service anymore except for the breakfast menu you hang on the door the night before. I do believe room service for the premium package is a flat fee for the entire cruise of $14.99.  I sailed in a full suite in Dec and did not have a beverage package  so I'm not sure about the flat fee. I was quoted a fee of $5 each room service I ordered so didn't use it.

Are people actually booking a cruise that only goes to Ensenada?

Those sailings are sold out, I'm sailing on the Navigator in 2 weeks. They are a nice short get a way for those that live near the port. There is no need to even get off the ship in Ensenada except for a nice walk around. If the price is right it's like a long week vacation.

I like the smaller ships so won't sail the biggies if they do port in San Pedro.

I will try the SBPL email route that was offered by a previous poster.  If that fails, I will consider dumping the stock.  The perks and the stock performance aren’t that great.  I can chalk it up to a bad investment and put my money elsewhere.

It took 3 days to get the credit in my personalizer via the email route. I took a black marker and redacted all but the required information before scanning and emailing a copy of the brokerage statement.

  9. NON refundable funds from your folio are always used first.  If there is no way to buy that $700 OBC buy a gift card for Princess (Satisfying your requirement to spend $700) from a store that sells gift cards. My supermarket carries gift cards.  The gift card can be applied to OBC when you board as refundable.

  10. I do NOT tip on Princess shore excursions, I've paid a premium and the tour guides are employees of a tour company with benefits.  I do tip on private excursions since I consider it more like a taxi where I tip.I have been curious about what others do so on my last cruise last month I watched people get off the bus. I saw about 50% of the people tipped and 50% did not so apparently there is no consensus.

A few years ago we were China. There was a Princess recommendation for tipping the tour guides. We were on the land portion of the tour and got to know the guide after 5 days. I asked why in a non tipping country this was even brought up. He was brutally honest and said only you Americans tip and if you want to give away your money we're happy to take it.

  11. I would just book the excursions for the adults and show up with the baby in arms. The fact the baby gets nothing out if isn't legitimate for not paying, I sometimes get nothing out of it BUT the baby does not take the space of another person or consume any meals so should NOT have to pay.

  12. "For those of you who think so much of yourselves to berate the question , I seriously hope I never have the misfortune to meet you on one of my cruises. Haughty, self important people are such a drain to hang out with!"

you put your question in a very negative way so got answers commiserate with your attitude. I wouldn't hang out with you because of your negative attitude. You didn't even consider some people would love something that didn't appeal to you!

  13. A Lot depends on how much hand holding you need. I book with a membership big box agency that doesn't do much after taking your deposit and making the booking. If I see a fare drop I call them and they are happy to call Princess. In return I get a gift card of about 8-9% (of total fare) which I'm able to use. I do my own research before booking to see what cabin and prices are and they accommodate.
