  1. It's the same menu as the main dining room and at dinner one extra dish is offered, usually a cheap fish or shrimp dish. The service is better then the dining room and there's no waiting. There are two tops and a few 4 tops but there are no sharing tables. Is the daily extra fare for this worth it? Maybe? I have used reserve class for the past several years. After last months sailing I will give it up. For what the fare has gone up to I'd rather eat in the specialty restaurant every dinner. Reserve lunch is only open on sea days if it's port intensive you be using the buffet for lunch

  2. Last month I went on a cruise I wished to cancel but couldn't after Israel was removed from the itinerary. Of course it was a reasonable reason to cancel the two ports but it was the reason I booked this cruise.

Everyone is invited to watch any ice show, regardless of C&A status.  Since there aren't any reservations needed (or even available, for that matter) on Mariner, it is strictly first come, first served.  In the past, D+ were allowed to use the reserved seating area but on some ships that is no longer the case.  I can't recall whether Mariner still allows D+ to sit in the reserved area or not but even if they aren't, there are plenty of good seats as long as you don't wait until the last minute to get there.

Is that also true for the production shows?

  4. I just flew on ITA to Rome last month for my Mediterrean cruise. It was business class so I got to chose my seats. It was a horrible airline I'd never fly again. They don't have cans of drinks, 2 liter bottles of flat diet coke. They don't come around with any snacks and it's a 12 hour flight. They don't do anything unless you go to the galley and ask. NO service. Look for a better airline to fly to FCO.

  5. Just off a 28 night cruise on the Island Princess and the food was awful. I had reserved class and the service was outstanding. The menu choices were cheap items and the lunch menu never changed in 28 days. Who orders a large plate of french fries for lunch one of the menu options.

If you go to the chart of amenities by C&A level on RC's website, on the line for the additional gift(s)/amenity(ies) for D+ and Pinn there's a link to what you can choose from, as well as how many you get.  Note that the number you get is per cabin, not per passenger with D+ or Pinn status.

Thanks for your fast response. I'm off to go look now.

Yes there's a letter in your cabin with the amenities listed.

If you're D+ or higher and entitled to additional gifts, you have to call C&A ahead of time to select them.

Yes I'm D+ but haven't sailed with RCL for many years. I've sailing on Princess since they are on the west coast but now that RCL came back to Los Angeles I'm going to try them again and booked a cruise for next month. I'll call crown and anchor. Do you know what the choices are by chance?

Print out the list that's available on Princess.com.

The ONE time we were in a suite (major one-time splurge), we were very disappointed because our steward either wasn't aware of the extras or didn't care. I had to show him the list in order to get 75% of the extras and still didn't manage to get all of them.

It was only a 4-day cruise or I would have insisted on a different steward.

4 night cruises have many exclusions like no complementary first night specialty restaurant.  Sometimes they do invite suite guests on shorter cruises the list of perks excludes it.

  9. I was on the Island Princess 28 days this month. Sabatini's was $39 and Bayou was $39. Extra entree is $10. Since both were comped for being in a suite I could not tell you if there was an extra gratuity added on but it wasn't stated on the menu. Both restaurants were never full when we had dinner or when we merely walked by although Bayou was fuller then Sabitini's.
