  1. So, yesterday my bad knee got worse, and this morning I couldn't walk on it. We had no choice but to have me wheeled down to medical. They did what they could, which was to give me a wheelchair and a cane. I would like some crutches but they convinced me that was not a good idea. We have a 9 pm flight tomorrow and we're planning to do a hop on hop off tour to pass the time, but now that's out. We may just end up spending the day at the airport. Yikes. I'm not sure what to do about that. Can I cry now?
  2. Yesterday in Cozumel we took a Mexican cooking class. We met at a market and learned how to pick out the best fruits and vegetables, then went to our host's home. He prepared most of the food, while he explained proper techniques and ingredients. We had hibiscus flower water, pumpkin seed dip, red and green sauces, salsa, guacamole, black beans, ceviche, quesadillas, mango and cucumber salad, rice, tinga, mango, and .margaritas.
  3. Welcome aboard, Dadof3gurlz. My Andy (aka Mirored) is coming along with me too. He used to live geographically close to you guys, and our son and grandkids still live just over the state line in Connecticut. :Looking forward to meeting you both.
  4. For our upcoming Oasis sailing, I found the menus under Main Dining Room 5, but not MDR 3 or 4. Check them all.
  5. When we were in Salem last Fall (October 15) it was extremely crowded, with people on the main street (closed to traffic) walking shoulder to shoulder in all directions. It was difficult making our way down the street. The pictures in @Rogueperson's post look deserted in comparison to what we experienced. There were long lines for everything, even just to go into a store, get a bite to eat, or use the restroom. I would not recommend trying to go there on October 21 and would be surprised if the ship offered an excursion there due to the nightmarish traffic, especially when leaving Salem.
  6. We did the exact same as you for our similar family group. Everyone was given the freedom to do the things that interested them most during the day. We always ate dinner together, but everyone was able to go do different things afterwards. We often did the same things, and we usually went on excursions together, but it was not a requirement. Relax and let everyone enjoy the experience.
  7. The weather here in southeastern Virginia is a spring-like 72 degrees today, so we played 36 holes of golf this morning. Afterwards, we grabbed some lunch and joined the crowd at the beach.
  8. We are also on the Serenade repo cruise out of Tampa in September. Your posts nudged me into checking on hotels. I had kind of forgotten about doing that, for some reason. Anyhow, I just booked a room at the Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown. I like that it's more reasonably priced, and walkable. I dread looking at airfare next.
  9. Please share any ideas of better bourbon so if the opportunity arises I will know what to grab. The Blantonโ€™s was $60. Iโ€™d go up to $100ish but thatโ€™s about it. I love him but I have to draw the line somewhere. ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. Virginia's state-run liquor stores periodically release "limited availability" products by sending an email to subscribers, listing which stores have products they are allowed to release at that moment. It's a mad dash for interested parties to get to the stores near them. Today I was close to one when I got the email that products there were being released. Since my 39 year old son loves bourbon, I decided to head over and see what was available. I must say it was a bit comical when I got there, seeing a bunch of 40 year old-ish guys running across the parking lot to get into the store. I went in, and found a line of a dozen or so of these guys already in line to buy whatever was being released. I joined them in the line, and managed to score a bottle of Blanton's for my son. Now I am certain you can buy this in other states more easily, but where we live it's something special. They guy ahead of me in line thought I was cool to be buying it for my son. I told him my son was worth it. Hopefully he will like it!
  11. Do you still have Ecobee and Alexa? You can get them to work together. When it's too cold to get out of bed, I just say "Alexa, set the upstairs temperature to 70" or whatever I like, roll over for a bit, then get up when it has warmed up.
  12. If not the vintage planes, how about a seaplane ride over San Francisco? They fly over the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, etc.
