  1. Correct. What is different is that NCL passes the taxes on to the customer. Many are surprised in a negative way when they learn about these unplanned charges onboard. On Princess out of Brooklyn, Princess covers the taxes on behalf of the customer. Many are surprised in a positive way since they don't have any additionally unplanned charges. Big difference! NCL could provide a listing of ports and cities where they intend to pass tax through to the customer. This could prevent the confusion and negativity every year when the European season begins.
  2. Bingo. Problem solved. Expand horizons. We've enjoyed our time sailing on competing cruise lines, not even knowing it going in. Not to mention the stability and reliability in delivering the advertised product, excuse-free.
  3. What is also a little weird is they were talking about offering longer, more immersive itineraries, yet seem to be altering those itineraries regularly.
  4. Exactly correct, which is why 4 of our last 5 were non-NCL. Too much instability with NCL for our desire.
  5. Advertised itineraries are just a suggestion on NCL. They regularly abuse the terms of their cruise contract which was never intended to allow deliberate false advertisement and itinerary changes made in the name of convenience. One day a group of passengers will unite and challenge NCL, but until then expect internal itinerary modifications to be made prior to final payment and announced after final payment to protect NCLs bookings and cash position. We will only book NCL at rock bottom rates under 30 days out to try to alleviate the disappointment NCL routinely causes it's paying guests. This limits our ability to sail on NCL and we accept that, even though we enjoy the on board experience. We've done 5 cruises post COVID, but only 1 NCL. We have nothing booked on NCL going forward. All of our non-NCL cruises were enjoyable and, more important to us, operated the advertised itinerary without need for modifications to ports or scheduled arrival/ departure times. There are decent alternatives to NCL that offer consistency.
  6. So, the analysts adjust their price target based on this and when NCLH misses the mark, as it did recently with revenues, the stock tanks and people blame the analysts for having unrealistic expectations. Hahaha! Turn a blind eye to falsehoods spewed by Dirty Harry Sommer and company. The hypocrisy on these boards is second to none.
  7. Never been to a BlueIguana without arepas.
  8. Even more precisely, it was a conflict of interest for NCL and Buffet. Buffet's group operates their own cruise brand.
  9. La Strada Grille, Deck 5. Only other options are on Lido Deck, Pizza, Guy's,Deli, Tomodoro.
  10. La Strada Grille outside on Deck 5
  11. Noon as correctly mentioned above. 230 end time.
  12. Margaritaville if there are no other ships in port with you.
  13. I don't know. The port day breakfast times were unchanged whether it was our 7 am arrival in San Juan or our 9 am arrival in Half Moon Cay last week.
  14. Sure, sea day brunch 830-noon. Port day breakfast is 7-9. Both in grande canal.
  15. That is the key. Find a fair price for what they offer, and realigning expectations for the now expected itinerary disruptions. We are diversified in multiple cruise companies. Unfortunately, we didn't buy enough RCL coming out of Corona time. Their return on investments have significantly outpaced Norwegian and Carnival. It isn't even close.
  16. 1. Yes. 2. Chocolate buffet in Lido Marketplace on final day. 3. Yes. They call it elegant night. We had two on the 11day run. We saw everything from tuxedos and evening gowns to shirts and tank tops. 4. All decks except Deck 3 since the galley is located midship on Deck 3. Deck 5 has an outdoor promenade that allows you to make it 75% of the way around that deck. The private Terraza balconies prohibit you from making the complete circle.
  17. ...paying down mountains of debt through huge profits on alcohol. Think of the profit margin on a $9.25 beer that might cost them $1, likely less.
  18. They could always raise the service charge to $22 or $23 per person per day to help meet their revenue projections.
  19. These are all old menus. Menu price of 16 oz beers last week on Venezia are $9.25, this includes the carnival branded beers and imports. Domestic $8.75. You can get a "deal" if you buy a six pack for $49.50. Ouch. Pretty steep. We passed on drinking this time.
  20. All aboard time is all aboard time. It is not a suggestion, unlike stop signs in Cozumel. 😀😀
  21. I didn't read the report. My simple mind is wondering how could they miss revenue in a period of record demand, with record bookings at substantially higher fares? Did they just overestimate their results?
  22. I mean NCL isn't transparent about itinerary changes or distribution of daily charges, why would anyone expect them to be transparent about the origin of policy changes. Maybe cruisecritic is the "guest feedback" referred to in the canned press releases. 😀😀😀
