For testing on the way down, we did the $40 Rapid Antigen Test at Shoppers Drug Mart and we will do it again. It was fine for the flight and cruise, as long as nothing changes and both keep accepting the rapid Antigen tests. Our local Shoppers just does walk ins. We walked in at 8:00 am when they opened, did the test and were walking out with our negative results in 30 minutes total. This time we went Tuesday morning for our Friday cruise, but next time we will have to go Wednesday morning for our Friday cruise.
Oh that’s great. For some reason I was thinking we needed the longer pcr test that takes 48 hours for results and was thinking we’d end up needing 2 tests.
We’re not going until January so who knows what things will be like then but hopefully testing will be easy 🤞-

Thank you for posting. Please let us know how you do your testing before embarking in October as most have changed it to the 2 days.

On the glacier day and on a small boat whale watching I wore a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie and a light waterproof winter coat. Hat and mitts.
On the regular stops I mostly wore the same layers but with a summer waterproof rain coat. Hat and mitts sometimes.
I’m always cold. My husband who is always warm, mostly wore a tshirt, hoody and spring coat.

Lemon drop martini is my favourite and the first thing I order when boarding 🙂

But if you have a non-refundable deposit and get the FCC if you cancel, is the FCC for the total paid - deposit and final payment?
Total paid if after final payment. Just the deposit if it’s before final payment.
-
If you have a non refundable deposit then you can’t get that cash back but you can get fcc.
If you have a refundable deposit but are past final payment you get fcc.If you cancel before final payment day and have a refundable deposit then you get your money returned.
Sounds right to me anyway lol

Thank you.
We don't drink alcohol, so this whole "package" is wasted on us.
At least DH will save on his daily cappuccino, and I'll "splurge" on freshly OJ for breakfast 😉
The virgin piña colada’s are really yummy!

this website is a little out of date but it will give you an idea of the types of menus and daily activities.

I received 14 points which was lower than I was expecting but brought me up to select so I’m satisfied. It’s gave me something ‘cruising’ to do.

Thx so much! I did book one for an 11 night cruise in March. It looks pretty tight so I will just have to decide if the cheap cruise fare is enough to offset the tiny cabin!
I’m all about cheap so I would totally do this one 😉

I don’t have experience in this cabin but I was curious and found this video.
I hope someone can help 🙂 -

Will the bartender's make frozen drinks on the pool deck with the classic package, or do you have to upgrade?
Pina coladas and the like are included in the classic pkg 🙂

It's important to remember to call it. DW used to forget to throw "Patron" in front of "Margarita" when she ordered.
Good tips!
I’ve upgraded my pkg for the martinis.
Does it make a noticeable difference in mixed drinks like that? I’m not a big drinker and would never know the different brands to ask for. (except now I’ll ask for Patron!)

The federal government had nothing to do with vaccine distribution within the provinces and territories. Whatever vaccine doses were allocated (or not) to Toronto resulted from decisions made by Ford and his minions.
Yep. One’s as bad as the next.

I must object to this post. Firstly, I believe the policy on cruise critic is to avoid inflammatory political statements.
Secondly, it is Trudeau’s government that procured vaccines and through its distribution, today across Canada, there are 81.28% of 12+ with one dose, and 67.58% of 12+ people fully vaccinated. Enough said.Sorry to get political. Sometimes it’s hard to bite my tongue.
And all I’ll say to your comment on Trudeau is 😂

To be fair, they were encouraging people to get a second dose of whatever was available to provide maximum protection to the highest number of people in the shortest period of time. No one was forced to take any vaccine. Governments at all levels had saving lives as their priority, not tourist travel. This is an unfortunate result, but not nearly as unfortunate as the number of cases and deaths that would have resulted otherwise.
I agree that travel isn’t a priority. Clearly, as they kept the border pretty wide open and if you had the money/time off you could come and go as you pleased.
I guess it’s how you look at it. They got a huge shipment of moderna that they wanted to use up before it expired….they took a chance that it wouldn’t cause any problems. If they were only concerned about the number of ppl in the shortest timeframe they would have kept it all in T.O and not spread it around the lightest hit areas.
Just my opinion but after all this anything that comes out of Trudeau’s mouth I have to question.

I was really lucky and got the same Vaccine for both or I’d be pissed. The Canadian government (followed by the provincial) were forcing people to mix. People were getting shamed if they turned up to a clinic for one brand and wouldn’t take a different one. Now this happens.
What a nightmare and not just because they can’t cruise.-

You can pay the difference per drink plus gratuity. Or you can upgrade the package for $12/day.

Was on the Edge sailing last week, bought the slower internet (didn't have the AI fare) package. It was unusable Day 2 so we went to guest services; just some datapoints:
- We asked if the basic just blocked streaming or if the premium was actually faster than the basic, they called the ilounge who stated premium's at least twice as fast.
- You can upgrade later in the sailing and only pay by the day so maybe if you have a port day on Day 2 upgrade on your next sea day if you want to save a little.
- They told us they'll upgrade us for 24 hours, if we want to downgrade back to basic within 24 hours they'll do so not even charge us.
- They applied the 10% CC level discount without me even asking.
- One our sailing it was bad day 1, day 2 from morning-2pm it was practically unusable with about 95% of the time, you click something and within 30-60 seconds, the page fails to load. Like magic at 2pm through the rest of the cruise internet was pretty good yet that isn't to say there are occasional laggy times. We had LLP on this sailing and a few suite pax told me when she asked suite pax how the cruise was going most said everything was great but the internet, very possible she authorized the ship to spend money to increase the bandwidth.
That’s really good information thank you.
I won’t be watching movies or anything but I do enjoy using it on holiday and miss it when I don’t have it. I’m assuming now that most are getting it free that will slow things down a lot.
I’ll probably just upgrade before I go to save myself the hassle.
Thanks again

It's inconsistent. First scan was .05 Mbps. Ship's wifi kept failing when I tried to load a photo. Finally got there but I'll be using my phone in ports. Less frustration. 😉
So its safe to assume the surf included pkg will be near to useless I guess.

That’s a bummer 🥺

With 98% vaxxed on our Edge sailing, June 24th, we saw no one, including kids/teens, in a mask except folks in the elevator upon boarding the first day... Supposedly the unvaxxed are masked indoors except while eating/drinking. But everyone seems to have a boat drink or sippe bottle, lol, so that's not an indicator, unless wearing a chinstrap mask...
I am fully vaxxed but will still wear a mask indoors. I’m afraid you can’t judge a book by it’s mask… 😉

Are excursion buses/vans full?
in Celebrity Cruises

Curious if someone who’s been on a ship excursion in the Caribbean can answer if people are spread out on the transports? Are the vans or busses etc full like normal or are they reducing capacity?
Thanks!
