  1. Just got off a celebrity cruise, we were told up front (sign saying to pick up sail card and drop off bags at cabin). That was on the last three X cruises we took. I think we were also sent to our cabin to pick up our sea pass cards on Royal last December. We dropped off our bags then too.
  2. We were on the Equinox in April. We are elite with an included basic drink package. The HH became a moot point, no snacks served. Just got off a 12 night Summit cruise. A premium drink package was included in the fare. Again, the HH was a moot point, no snacks were served. The AI fares kind of makes the HH obsolete.
  3. If you tag your carry on with a luggage tag it will be delivered to your cabin. I understand people not wanting to let go of their carry ons but that is an option. We usually carry all our personal stuff/valuables etc in a back pack to carry on board.
  4. People pay extra to swim/scuba dive with sharks. I've dived with sharks half a dozen times. This poor woman was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  5. I'm guessing the OP was being sarcastic But....I have a "free" RCI logo baseball hat I won playing trivia along with some playing cards, pens and other trinkets from years ago. Nothing from the last 10 years or so. I have a "free" cup from paying for a drink package once. Never used it. I wonder if it can be activated on a future cruise?
  6. I was frankly disappointed with the selection on my just returned from X cruise. The best I could get with my premium drink package was Maker's Mark. I got Woodford Reserve in the past along with some other better stuff. Will be bringing touch of my own from now on.
  7. You have to book diving through your ship in Nassau. All ship diving no matter what cruise line is through Stuarts Cove. None of the dive operators offer times conducive to ship docking. The diving was actually pretty good when I went last December but the boats were cattle boats.
  8. I booked through the ship in Nassau. It's the only way you can dive there on a cruise. We went to Stuarts Cove. It was a cattle boat but the diving was pretty good. I'd do it again if I wanted to dive on a Bahamas cruise.
  9. Actually you can cruise with your favorite booze. Just got to be willing.
  10. Sometimes it's not about more or better.... We've done cruises when we were never in our cabin except to sleep. We were out and about from morning to late at night. Why pay for something (balcony/suite) you don't use? We did a suite for our 40th wedding anniversary. It was very nice but didn't make the cruise any better than it was.
  11. Whatever you get on the ship applies to Coco Cay. You don't have to pay for anything extra unless you want to.
  12. The last two cruises we were on (this year) we were surprised to find out that booze bought through the ship's store could be taken back to the cabin the same day and....they no longer confiscated and held booze bought on in port. Might be a way around the high drink prices.
  13. Diving in Coz next Feb and was looking at Dive with Martin as well. Would be interested in how your dive went.
  14. More cruises is my vote. We've done insides, ocean views, balconies and suites. We mostly do insides now. And we don't gamble, do drink packages anymore or do the Wifi or specialty dining either. The money saved can be applied to excursions or other expenses. Just cutting out that stuff pays for another cruise. Having said that we just booked an ocean view because it was only $5 more than an inside so we're always looking for the best value. Sometimes the perks (additional/refundable onboard credit, a free specialty dining, free pre paid gratuities and or Wifi, etc through our travel agent) of booking a balcony puts it close to an inside or OV. We've done very well doing that. What's nice is when you book an inside and they move you to a balcony which they did on our last cruise. They shut deck 3 down completely and moved every one up.
