  1. I don’t think anyone has brought up that these people take a very long time to eat. If you are at a shared table, the waiters will not serve your next course while your table mates are still being served multiples of the current course, so you are forced to sit waiting while they eat. In anytime dining, people may be waiting for a table to open while these people spend the entire evening taking the table. I am in favor of the charge.
  2. Can I confess that I actually enjoyed the second episode?

We’ll see how the rest of the episodes play out, but I couldn’t help but think that first episode will give potential new customers a false sense of what cruising is like: every cabin is a giant suite, every cruiser is an attractive 20 or 30 something, the pool deck is empty and it will be easy to find a lounger. Although, I suppose the original probably did some of that too. I also happened to be reading an Amazing Race board today. Their opinion seemed to be that this show was poorly placed in between Survivor and The Amazing Race and that fans of those shows have no interest in watching The Real Love Boat or cruising.

  6. I know Matt is really a cruise director as friends had him as CD on a Carnival cruise. I agree with all of the sentiments above, but will continue to watch for a while anyway to see more of the ship and ports. What got me was that they made it look like the ship was almost empty, though I suppose they probably were running at reduced capacity at the time.
  7. Yes, I already had the automatic extension. This would be in addition to that.
  8. My expiration date is coming up and we may not be comfortable cruising before then. Has anybody requested an extension? How did it go? How did you make the request? Thanks.
  9. Sometimes when surveying customers asking everything you want to ask would make the survey too long, so you only ask each customer a subset of the questions. Different customers would receive different surveys.
  10. Where/when can you buy this package? I don’t see anything like that as an option. I do see an alcohol free option for $260.
  11. The crew wear masks in public areas. I don’t think they are wearing them in crew quarters.
  12. I would also check private car services like Carmel Limo.
  13. Halifax has a lot to do within walking distance.
  14. Are you sure the TA canceled the booking? Does the TA have your money or NCL? This shouldn’t have anything to do with your reason for canceling.
