  1. That’s great to hear. That’s terrible, sorry for your loss. That must have been awful for your wife as a child.
  2. Are those supposed to be pecks? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ll supply the polish, but someone else will have to supply the purse and diamond. I like your idea of bling much better than what I had in mind.
  3. At the top where the title of this thread is there is a little blue box on the right that allows you to follow the thread.
  4. It was nice of them to tell her to bring headphones. The least the hospital could’ve done was to supply some cheap earplugs for me. I definitely understand about not wanting to miss out on some important announcement. When out and about or especially when walking I will only wear one ear bud. I want to hear what’s going on around me. I used to be able to hear cars coming up behind me, but now with electric cars it’s a little unnerving.
  5. My little toe on each foot needed to be corrected. The dr didn’t mention anything about having a choice of local or general anesthesia when I had my first foot done and he did it under general. Ended up with a different dr due to a change in insurance for my second foot. He gave me the option of either one. He said he preferred the local and it sounded fine to me. I don’t remember him mentioning I would be awake. He probably did, but I probably didn’t want to think about it. He also explained what he would be doing. Part of it was that he would be using a saw like a hacksaw (his words), but a medical one. I didn’t really think much about it. Anyway, day of surgery they get me ready and drape a sheet over my stomach so I couldn’t see my feet. Needless to say, being awake I could hear the saw going to work. 🫨 I started to freak out (inwardly) and was telling them I could hear it. Dr asked if I could feel any pain. No, but I could feel him touching me. No pain, but just a light touching on my foot. Ok, no problem he says and he continues. I continue to tell him I can hear it. I guess he wasn’t that concerned since I told him I still felt no pain. It was probably after my third complaint about hearing the noise that the nurse tells the anesthesiologist that she had brought her Walkman (this was about 37 years ago) in to work. He tells her to go get it. They put that on me and I was happy I couldn’t hear the sawing, but my mind was having all kinds of visions about what was going on with my foot. If I’m ever in that position again, I’ll definitely be bringing ear plugs.
  6. Marcel is definitely loving that. We have a cat that loves to have the insides of her ears rubbed. I’ve never had a cat that liked that so I thought maybe she had ear mites. Nope, she just likes her ears rubbed. In fact, she will start to drool when Mike gets a little inside her ear. Eew!
  7. If you don’t mind me asking, but why wouldn’t you have knee surgery especially since it’s affecting your hip? That’s got to be a double whammy in pain.
  8. I had my hip done in 2017 and don’t regret it at all. I was walking later that day. If my other hip were to start hurting, I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to have the surgery again.
  9. I like to do the same, but now mostly bring an orchid and leave it with the crew.
  10. I would think that as much pain as Graham sounds to be in it wouldn’t be worth waiting. When I found out what my pain was from I didn’t want to wait and had it done quickly.
  11. I would think that the sooner aka younger the better, before any more health issues pop up. Not saying any more will, but that’s my thought about the sooner the better.
  12. You were talking about getting a bad room when booking a gty. Then you mention getting a fcc because of getting a bad room aka location. Nothing was even being talked about getting a room that has issues that need to be fixed like toilet overflowing, ac not working, etc. That's not what this thread was about so it sounded like you thought you or others should get a fcc because of the room. If people go the gty route to save money then they need to accept the results or pick their room. If they can't afford to do that, then maybe a vacation that they can afford should be looked into.
  13. Loved all the flowers at Pike’s Place and took some with us in 2018 on the Explorer. Our cabin attendant gave us a champagne bucket for ours. It was one of the large clear acrylic ones with the little handles on the side. We bought a bunch of flowers and needed a large “vase”.
  14. Glad to hear you are doing much better. I didn’t realize it had gotten that bad before you had surgery.
