  1. So this is what happened yesterday. I started having cold symptoms in the afternoon. I was very tired so I decided to take a nap and deal with it later. Woke up and took the home test kit that I had with me and tested positive. I immediately start packing because I read that they don’t give you very much time to pack. After I was almost finished packing I called medical and told them that I tested positive. They sent someone to test me and it took about an hour for the results to come back. Still positive. They said guest services would call. It took them over an hour to call to explain stuff. I already knew most of what was going to happen because of the info on here. This was my plan after I had symptoms. Self test and if positive start packing and then notify medical. Self test and if negative don’t bother packing but still let medical know I had cold symptoms. The self test could have had a false negative. If I then tested positive I would then start throwing stuff in my luggage. By the time it was all said and done last night they said it was to late to move me and that it would happen at 8:00 am. Ordered breakfast to be delivered between 7:00 - 7:30. That was Mike’s idea. I wanted it between 7:30 - 8:00. I can eat fast if I needed to. They called at 6:45 and were at the door in about 2 minutes. I guess they didn’t get the memo that I didn’t even want to order it for that early so calling even 15 minutes ahead of time was a big no no. 🤣 Just kidding. At that point I just wanted to be moved and be done with it. I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t have a walk of shame. They let me down. There were no people dressed in the white coveralls with face shields and no fogging behind me. I missed all the fan fare. There was a guy from housekeeping dressed in his usual work clothes. He carried my luggage while I carried some other stuff. We went into a crew area and took the elevator down to deck 2. Got off and got right back on a different one and went to deck 3. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was a little confused but whatever. He then turned me over to another employee who was dressed in the white coveralls with a hoodie. All the crew have been wearing masks since the restart. My room wasn’t ready yet so we waited in the hall and talked. He thanked me for letting them know I was sick. The dr that called and guest services also thanked me. I’m guessing it’s rare that people will fess up about their symptoms. Anyway, so suited up guy and I talk in the hallway. He said most people in the covid cabins were crew since they are always being tested. I’m on deck 3 in an ocean view room. Room is like others but I did notice there is no bed skirt and no blankets, etc underneath the bed. There also isn’t any carpet. I’m guessing this was done since these are covid rooms. I have free internet and free movies on tv. I haven’t looked to see what is showing. And so it begins. I have 4 days left on this cruise. Mike can order room service or go and get food, but he must eat in the cabin. He will also get tested daily.
  2. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. There were to many for me to keep quoting but I appreciate it. I knew it was a possibility but I guess I was surprised that I now tested positive since I have been able to avoid it so far.
  3. Thanks Graham. Mike will get to experience his first “solo” cruise. 😄 I’m ok with how things have happened. It is what it is that I’m sick. So far just cold symptoms. Hoping it stays that way. Thanks Dani. Thanks, I’m also hoping the symptoms stay mild. Thanks Mark. So far just like cold symptoms. He was supposed to be tested about an hour ago but I haven’t heard back from him. I’m hoping he doesn’t get it.
  4. It’s called being responsible and not selfish. It seems odd to me that someone wouldn’t call medical if they had any symptoms. No I wouldn’t have called medical before covid. Now with covid it’s different. I self tested in the cabin and it was positive so I then notified them. If I didn’t have the self test with me I still would have let medical know so they could test me. I don’t want to be “that” selfish person and possibly spread it to others.
  5. 4 more days left on the cruise. I was surprised that I tested positive because it felt like a cold. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised since I have been on the ships for about 102 days since this past September. I had a feeling it would eventually catch up with me and unfortunately it has. I read that they do, but I’m not up to drinking. Maybe if I am in a day or two I’ll just ask for a jug of chocolate martinis. 😆 🍸 Correct.
  6. No only unless you test positive. I notified them that I had tested positive with a home kit that I had. If I didn’t have it I still would have notified them that I wasn’t feeling good. I have cold symptoms so far.
  7. Don't make fun of $2.00 guy. I think I saw him and his vanity plate in Fort Lauderdale several months ago. 🤣🤣🤣
  8. 😆 Yes I will see what they are like. Soup containers or coffee cups won’t make a difference to me. They both hold liquids and I can drink from either. 🥂 I’m not really expecting any problems or issues in my dungeon (I say that in jest). As long as they feed me I’ll be ok.
  9. I’ll be doing my walk of covid shame tomorrow. Tested positive and will be moved to a covid room about 8:00 in the morning.
  10. Now I wished he hadn’t been able to. I tested positive for covid and will get moved to a covid room in the morning. I’m hoping he doesn’t get it. I’ve spent about 102 days on ships since September and it finally caught up with me. 😩 🤕
  11. I was on that cruise also and ended up getting it. I’m positive I got it on the ship since I have been on for the last 3 cruises and am on the next one now. Last week I didn’t leave the ship so that’s where I got it. Started feeling crappy today and tested positive. They will move me to a covid room in the morning. My concern is getting home. We live about 5 miles from the port and usually Uber here. I don’t think it’s very responsible to take Uber right now. Maybe Royal will drive us there. If we did use Uber we would wear N95 masks and ask them to open the windows. As long as my husband continues to test negative we are thinking he will Uber home and then come back and get me. At least this is only a 6 day cruise.
  12. This weeks itinerary is Costa Maya, Cozumel and then Coco Cay. I didn’t do anything in Aruba or Curaçao. I have been often so I stayed on the ship. Mike and I were in Aruba and Curaçao recently and we have been many times before. Often we get off the ship and at least walk around but this time I didn’t.
  13. Are you going to visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum? It’s next to the Space Needle and it’s beautiful. Saw it in 2018. Yes it was Curaçao. It’s been a great week. Found out today that Mike will be joining me tomorrow for the next one. We will miss you in the Champagne Bar. Also found out today Ana is going to be working in Sabors starting tomorrow. 🍹🍹🍹 Hope you both feel better soon.
  14. Have a great cruise. I have been on the Allure the last 3 weeks and tomorrow will be my 4th and last until some other time. I have sailed with hubby and without. Prefer to sail with him but because of his schedule he can't always make it. 3 weeks ago I was solo, next week was with him, this week I'm solo and I found out today he will be getting on with me tomorrow. 💃🍾🥂
  15. Are you on the ship now? I must have missed the Cuban and 3 people part. Thanks for the info.
  16. We gave them life vests and flashlights and I think he said something else, but people kept talking so I didn't catch it all. There is an aircraft circling overhead. They will wait till the CG comes to rescue them. Glad they are ok.
  17. Headed back to Fort Lauderdale somewhere in the Florida Straits.
  18. Just saw the rescue boat come back with no extra people. Will see what the Captain says.
  19. At dinner and noticed we stopped and then I saw a life boat being lowered. Captain came on and said the CG asked us to see if they needed rescuing. I'm about 3 windows down fron where the life boat was lowered so I can't see a whole lot. He said they would be here in about 1.5 hours so not sure how long we will be here.
  20. Agreed and then they will realize how easy it is these days. On my 3rd cruise on the Wonder the muster station didn’t open until 1:30. For some reason it was really late compared to other times. There were a lot of people waiting for it to open. I went there hoping to get it done but ended up having to go back about an hour later. I definitely prefer to get it done and then do what I want without having to worry about going later.
