Surprisingly the difference of a non TG cruise for me was about $400, being the airfare was a bit more because of the holiday.

Expected them to be packed because of the holiday but the Mrs and myself have never cruised during the holidays so figured why not try this year and on a new cruise line!!

I have sailed both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Love Christmas cruises.  Love watching the kids waiting for Santa Claus to arrive.  Every child on board gets a gift.  Many multi-generational families dress on Christmas morning in matching pajamas waiting for Santa.  Fun to watch.

    Enjoy

  2. The deciding factor for me would be is:

From where you live which would be easier to do:

         (A) Flying into or out of Orlando, Florida (Epic)

         (B) Flying into or out of Miami, Florida (Breakaway)

Is there a difference in the price of the airline fares between the two cities?

Either ship will be fully booked for a cruise over Thanksgiving and more expensive than a week or two in front of or behind Thanksgiving.

  3. What's the cruise itinerary?  An early December full Panama Cruise (14 to 21 days), maybe not so many kids.

Christmas and New Years cruises will be packed with lots of kids from little little ones to those who think they are young adults.

No need to know the officers. OP did what you requested and now you want more. The appropriate response would be a simple no

My request was to post a "List" of Officers.  My intend on asking was to get information to post on the "Officers and Crew 2024 Where Are They Now" thread.

You might not care what Officer is where, but many others do.

So we can’t find the Haven. Is one even on this ship !?🤣🤣🤣 wine at lunch might have something to do with my orientation 🍷

There is not a "Haven" as you know it from the Breakaway ships.  May be called Garden Villa (forward Deck 14--one entrance is across the hall from Cagney's on Deck 13 up a staircase.

It's right next door to Royal's CocoCay where a pier was added 5 years ago. 🤷

Each island has a totally different topographies  I have always been told that the water level under a ship's hull is to shallow to allow  for docking.  I have been told this by several Captains and Staff Captains.  I have no reason not to believe them.

  7. I would rather doubt that NCL would build a pier at GSC.  If it would environmentally possible to build a pier there, they would have done it many years for far less money and much less environmental rules and regulations than there are today.  Given the fact that NCL views itself as an "environmentally friendly company", why would they destroy an environmentally sensitive area to build a pier?

  8. (1) The Marriott Waterfront is across the street from the Bell Street Terminal.  Easy walk but might be difficult for as scooter as you have to across several railroad tracks.

    (2) Do not know about a car rental.  You might be able to get a handicap tour through the hotel.

    (3) I think I would book the Haven, much easier on Mom.

    (4) Depending on your airline and what time your is, your might qualify for the Port Valet program (which is free).  You receive special baggage tags in your cabin.  Your luggage goes out just like any cruise but it is taken directly to your airline and you pick it up at your home airport.  You will also receive your boarding passes.  You might want to look at the Port of Seattle's website for exact information.

    (5) Do not know the answer to this question.  Sounds very complicated especially if it involves one than one person.

I hope you folks have a wonderful adventure and a special time of just being together.

The drink package on NCL unfortunately only works on the ship itself. It’s pay as you go at private island/ports etc.  We aren’t big excursion people but will say the snorkeling at Roatan when we did it was amazing. We hired a private driver and went to a resort with snorkeling right off the beach and it was terrific.

Your drink package will work at Great Stirrup Caye but not at Harvest Caye.  Harvest Caye is a collaboration between the government of Belize and NCL.  A Hospitality Company manages and employees people from Belize to work on the island.  With Great Stirrup Caye, ship staff work on the island.

  10. Hero Cards have an impacted on that particular person.  Once the Card is reviewed by Supervisors and the Department Head, then the Card is given to the person.  Each month one person from each Department is honored as the "Employee of the Month".  The person could get some extra time(if possible), and/or considered for a better position during this contract or the next one.

Do not know about Post Cruise Survey.  I am sure that information is collected and evaluated.  I can tell that the complaints about the Prima and Viva layout, has caused some design differences in the Aqua and pushed back Her launch date.

We were on the Epic this past week.  Overall, the cruise was good but a couple of things I wanted to share with the upper management.   First getting on the ship was a joke.  We arrived at 12:30 and I asked where to go for priority check-in being a platinum cruiser.  No signs and we got three different answers.  Noone knew what was going on.  Then once we checked in we had to go get our key card, Another line.  Food was great in the specialty restaurants.  But the main dinning was ok to poor.  Baked potatoes and I had 4 between my wife and I were cold.  French fries where cold every meal at lunch.  I did not stand in lines as I had a guy in the H2O as well as pool bars, but the lines people would stand in line for 20 min.  They need to open a bar area for just beer.  This would help out.  Every server said they were at fully staffed, but looked like me they need an additional person at each bar.

From the time you arrive at a port until the time you actually walk on board a ship is the responsibility of the local port authorities not NCL.

This is the holiday season and all the ships are sailing very full-- long lines and wait times are unavoidable.

  12. I stay at major hotels out by LAX.  Have always been able to book tours through their Concierge Desk.

Sometimes I have been able to get a transfer directly from the hotel to the ship.  Other times I have gone back to the baggage claim area of my airline and gotten a transfer to the ship from there.

I hope you're having an easy time adjusting back into real life on shore.

I'm on the Canal cruise sailing on 1/27.

It seem there are no show reservations being done pre-cruise for that voyage. NCL agent told me they don't know why, just that it is that way.

Where did you pick up that entertainment schedule when you boarded?

Do you know where they are doing reservations during boarding (theater box office & comedy club are suggestions made on another thread)? At least when you sailed.

I would go to the Theater Box just outside of the Theater (toward the front of the ship on Deck 7).  They would have all the entertainment information and be able to make reservations for you.

The theater is used for an Muster Drill check-in location for some people.

    Enjoy your cruise
