Being just over a week away with the same itinerary, Thanks for giving me a looking glass! Any suggestions for my week would be appreciated.
We have a 3rd party excursion scheduled for Roatan, Have an idea of what we are doing in Costa Maya - Just going to check out the port in Cozumel since it is our first in the non Carnival one and then go back to the ship there and no idea of what we are going to do on Harvest Caye.
I have a suggestion for Costa Maya. Get off the ship as fast as possible and head for the plaza area at the end of the walkway. You will see a very tall pole with a ring at the top. A group of men will climb the pole with a drummer. As the drummer does his thing, the other men will attach themselves to long cables and dance their way to the ground. As I understand it, this is a very old ritual. Very fun to watch and of course they would like a donation.

Our friends and family cruise is leaving from NOLA on the 31st. Any way to find out what activities will be happening on NYE on board? Also would love to see what all is offered at Starbucks! Really enjoying your play by play. Thank you for taking the time out of your vacay to post
There should be parties all over the ship: the Atrium, the pool deck and SpiceH2O (Deck 15 at the rear of the ship).

I just found this article: https://www.cruisehive.com/norwegian-cruise-line-cancels-in-favor-of-full-ship-charter/118779
It seems like a lot of ships and itineraries in 2024/2025 are being cancelled due to "full ship charters." Is it billionaires renting out entire ships for a month of partying or something??
This cancellation comes right after Her scheduled drydock. My guess would they think that drydock is going to take longer than originally scheduled.

We have not had the opportunity to meet him yet. I think he has been very busy with the weather and itinerary changes. I can tell from the announcements that he is a very good leader. He seems to truly care about both passengers and his staff & crew. 🙂
He is a very huge man-- very close to 7 FEET. He would make a great NFL linebacker.

If you have a dietary issue (need low sodium), go on the website down toward the bottom and fill out the form found in the "Accessible Cruising". Your dietary issue(s) will be encoded into your room key card. As you present your card at restaurants your information will pop on their computer and printed out for your waiter.

The only place I know of where the Port Valet Program is available is in Seattle, Washington. It is NOT a Norwegian program but one offered by the Port of Seattle.

Thank you... I forgot to say... I'll be on the Escape... and there is a Spice H2O... I might give that some thought... but after 7pm kids are allowed in Spice H2O? Probably make that a "no go" route for me.
I know the gym and Thermal Spa are different, but I work out pretty hard, so I use saunas, steam baths, Jacuzzi/hot tubs, etc regularly after working out for recovery... at 56, (I'll be 57 when I cruise), I don't recover as quickly and easily as I used to, lol, so I deem this to be a necessary purchase.
Being a cruising neophyte all of my excursions will be through the ship. I don't want to risk becoming a "Pier Runner" if my excursion is running late. It's my understanding that if I book through NCL that the ship has to wait for me if the return is running late.
As for Speciality Dining reservations...I figure that I'd rather make a reservation in the vein of better safe than sorry, lol. Plus I'm an Engineer by trade... things... must... be...planned, lol.
"Enjoy your cruise." You betcha.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read and respond.
Take care,
Lou

Depending on the ship you choose, there may be a Spice H2O on an upper deck (like Deck 15) at the rear of the ship which is free for your use and child free until about 7 P.M. Would NOT waste money on Vibe.
Nor would I spend money on the Thermal Spa- totally different from the gym (which free to use except for some classes).
As a solo passenger, I rarely make dinner reservations. Just walk up the the Restaurant Hostess Desk. Only a certain percentage of reservations can be made pre-cruise for the restaurants.
Unless you do a Norwegian excursion, I would not try to do a Mayan Ruins tour. Very long bus ride in each direction not a lot of time to actual see very much.
I hope this helps
Enjoy your cruise

Depending on the game, you may be able to see it on the TV in your cabin. Check your Freestyle Daily.

I always book a Sailaway Inside, however I use a local travel agency. Prices posted on the website NEVER include port fees or government taxes which can add a lot to the cost of a cruise. When I book no matter how far in advance, I always add the Daily Gratuities which adds to the cost (and could go up between the time of booking and the date of the cruise).

Officer Picture Board should be on Deck 6 between the restrooms and the forward staircase.

Were you told when you booked that teenagers can NOT be booked in a cabin by themselves? You would have to have an adult and teenager in each cabin to be legal.

The trip down the Mississippi River (or back up) takes between 6 and 8 hours depending on the water level in the River and how much traffic there is. Between cruise ships, cargo container ships, oil tankers and all kinds of fishing boats, the River can get very congested.

The dining rom off the lobby should be open for lunch.

The theme dance parties begin about 10:00 P.M.-- very loud and sometimes very crowded. No special clothing required.
There are no "formal or elegant" nights on a Norwegian cruise. The only cruises where people are more formally dressed are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Harvest Caye is not a true private island, it is a collaboration between Norwegian and the government of Belize. It is run by a hospitality company employing people from Belize. Hence or dining packages or beverage packages do not work.
