  1. On the Panorama, I would take my laptop and sit outside the doors to the theater for about a half hour before the doors open so I can get a seat I wanted. I plan on doing the same my next trip. I'm working on my doctorate so I have plenty of homework lol
  2. Thank you ! Looking forward to the review! I have a 25 day trip booked next year on the Pride!!!
  3. Hello! Carnival will accept a Document of Recovery under some circumstances. It will need to be dated with a test within 90 days of your sailing. Guests who have recovered from COVID-19 within 3 months of their sailing date do not need the required pre-cruise test if they are at least 10 days past their positive test result date, have no symptoms and produce document of recovery from COVID-19. A Document of Recovery is accepted from both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated guests (with a Carnival-approved exemption) and consists of a paper or electronic copy of the positive viral test result from a certified laboratory (dated no more than 90 days prior to the sailing date). There you go 🙂 https://www.carnival.com/legal/covid-19-legal-notices Howver you will likely have to produce it to Carnival physically for it, and skip VeriFly won't take that long. ARriveCan says 180 days before: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada provide a positive COVID-19 molecular test result, conducted at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before entering Canada. A positive antigen test is not accepted.
  4. Typically around a $150 fee if you call the line. If you have a PVP you work with a lot ,and do most of your bookings through your PVP can probably do it for free. Tip: If you're unsure about someone, but sitll want to pay for them in advance, your PVP can leave someone as "TBD" with no name declared.
  5. The hotel I stayed at after a cruise didn't have enough rooms to do early-checkin. But, they did offer to take our luggage and hold onto it to let us explore the city more.
  6. The option I was going to book was a total of $5003. It is now at $5903 with the summer sale being "over" but this includes price protection. I was comfortable with the 5k price tag. But, not the 6k price tag. After booking how often did your guys' cruise go down enough that it actually allowed you to price guarantee it? I find that Carnival's "good deals" tend to disappear if you book a lot, I noticed for example my last cruise prices just kept going up and up for me logged in with my VFIP but if I used an incognito window it was cheaper! Does carnival "Scam" you out of this because you paid the higher price at all like some services do, and "hide" price lowers?
  7. They'll give out free 15 minute facials, a free massage for about 10-15 minutes, etc, to try and entice you to buy spa products and or services.
  8. Going in September. I'll do a live from Miracle for 10 days. It is a Spirit class. I believe they have charm. The new ships are packed like sardines with passengers by doubling-to-tripling the # of passengers with the same amount of community space. Spirit class is unique as there are many 'hideaway' spots where you can truly just enjoy the ship without having to worry about crowds.
  9. Go to the Casino's cashier window and ask for one. They'll give you a casino red one. You can use it as a necklace or clip it to your purse, wallet, etc.
  10. Not in the cabin. But, most decks have a self-service laundry room with irons in them. Carnival Celebration is the only ship with a no iron policy
  11. Definately go no-show or contact your PVP to get a name change if you can convince another to come.
  12. When Carnival introduced the Medallion-class band they advertised it would come to the entire fleet for all Carnival lines. But, now they advertise it as an "elite" "luxury" for Princess. Makes me wonder if they ditched their plans to have it on the other ships.
  13. Oh of that I am aware. But, on Panorama it was still reliable enough to do some work. Downloaded spreadsheets, emails, etc. 🙂
  14. Hello al! If you're a fan of massage on the cruise, you can get a deal for a 90 minute massage for $100 if you attend the "Ladies Pamper Party". This is the cheapest rate I've ever found for the 90 minute massage, for basically the same price as the 55 minute massage. If you're a male, go to the Ladies Pamper Party. It is not legal for Carnival to turn a male away, including in their own corporate policies, they have to welcome men as well. So just go to it as well. Cheapest massage rate we've found.
  15. Considering booking a journeys cruise that is about 18 months away. Early Saver with the price protection guarantee is $2800 for our Balcony Cabin. However, the Summer Sale brought it down to $2300. 15 day journey. Do Journeys or Carnival Prices really go down much more? I'm concerned if I book the Early Saver, then try to price match the Summer Sale, the deal will be over because Carnival is a bit slow in responding to requests.
  16. Often. Especially in rare destinations or Alaska they will sell out. But, you can go the morning of the excursion and see if it became available. It's not that uncommon for someone to cancel their excursion because they're not feeling well, or, didn't get enough sleep.
  17. On the Panorama we got charged 50¢ if we bought a soda with any bar beverage. We had bubbles. if we get a soda alone our receipt is for $0.00. If we got like a Midiori Sour for example for $16.50 we were charged that $16.50 for the drink, $2.97 for the service charge added onto the drink. This should be $19.47 right? Nope, they charged service for the Pepsi too, total of $19.97.
  18. For my first name, since it is doubled barrel, can I just drop the second first name and use the first, or my second name? My name is litterally "St Nicholas" I can use "St" or "Nicholas". Probably just St? American Passports list middle names as part of the first name so I don't think it is an issue.
  19. It definately is. Second half 100% better. Huge amount of staffing issues in the first half. I'm going to Alaska for 10 days in September and Rome for 25 days next year already. This was just the worst experience I had on Carnival. I 100% like the Spirit ships better. Vista class is too crowded.
  20. Does anyone know how to get an 11 character name accepted by Carnival instead of getting cut off? "Christopher" gets cut down to Christoph. My name "St Nicholas" gets cut down to "St Nichol". I'm wondering if I should just drop it down to "St" for myself. For my friend, Christopher, can we get away with just Chris on the carnival Sail and Sign? Our passports have our current and legal names. My passport has my 3 first names along with my other documentation.
  21. How is the Wifi on the Carnival Pride? I want to go on it for 25 days next year. My boss said it's okay. But I probably will want to work remotely for a few hours a day on sea days.
  22. ARe we allowed to do that? The doors typically say wait until 1:30 PM. Do we just ignore that sign go in there and tell the steward we're just dropping off the bags if they ask?
  23. I got the bubbles for soda. I actually drunk less than it would've cost me to get it, mostly, probably beause they don't offer water or cold teas at bars (wish they had Pure Leaf). But, I honestly like it anyways, mostly because I don't have to worry about managing my spending on board.
  24. Thank you! Doing a 10 day Miracle this year and a 25 Pride next year! This helps!
  25. They could've easily used a tender to get the kid too. Really wanting details of how this went down. Major props to Carnival.
