  1. Thanks to all of you for prayers for hubby (Mike) -- yesterday's surgery went as planned....think he'll be coming home tomorrow. I'm scheduled for a 2nd round of steroid (only) injections for my back for next Monday - I guess they will be using a different steroid this time....really hoping for more than 1 1/2 days of relief -- glad that Extra Strength Tylenol every 5 or so hours does some good.
  2. Our HAL PCC is terrific! We had cancelled a cruise due to the original Covid mess & our FCC was to expire on 12/31 -- don't remember the year. We booked a cruise for Feb//March of the next year & he was able to move our FCC's to that cruise. The HAL phone # for PCCs is 1-206-626-7350 --- just stay on the line for an available PCC & hope they can help you to your satisfaction.
  3. Vanessa -- I hope you get longer lasting relief than I did -- I didn't have a numbing agent injected, just a steroid....my pain relief came the next day BUT it only lasted about a day & a half.....I'm getting 2 more steroid injections on the 23rd....I know to take at least 1 Benadryl for sleep that night....:-).
  4. Yes, we used them this past March....I don't know how to word this to be politically correct so please don't be offended....the operator overbooked his capabilities --- was asking at the tender port for people with pick-up trucks with seating in the bed if they were willing to transport cruisers. Our driver happened to end up being the operator's father, which was fine. Hubby & I needed to be seated inside the truck due to his new knee replacement & my temperamental back so the other occupants rotated thru the truck....the last couple who rode with us started speaking to the driver in French (when the 3 of them did speak English) & he responded in kind which left us out of the loop as to what was being said or described. The scenery was beautiful. If you can, maybe go on Trip Advisor & see if you can find another provider. Enjoy your cruise!
  5. A couple of things related to the dining portion of CO -- the staff all seem to be the best of the best - from the greeter on -- to us the staff almost made the meal - very personable & professional....the chef/s were able to accommodate my dietary needs & made sure they were to my liking, the wait staff made every dinner enjoyable & the wine steward knew where to find the wine hubby liked. We would purchase CO for the dining experience alone.
  6. After about 10 cardioversions (shocks) & 3 internal nerve ablations on his heart for atrial fibrillation, hubby is having an external ablation on Wednesday to hopefully stop it. Prayers for him, his cardiac surgeon & team as we get though this. Thank you all!
  7. Ray - can you follow up on this when you find anything out, please? Hubby is 100% disabled, we are on Medicare A & B + have Kaiser as our secondary....very interested. Or you can email me at patspal162atyahoo.com. Thanks.
  8. Unfortunately, that is becoming more of a part of life....& you'll find those people everywhere including on a cruise. The worst behavior I have witnessed has been in dining areas & in the tendering process - we just try & look the other way &, if possible, apologize to the victim of such rudeness.
  9. When we sent laundry on the K, the instructions were followed without fail....we couldn't have been more pleased.
  10. We didn't see the sign this past February....
  11. We used the Neptune Lounge attendants for straightening out our onboard account, sending hubby's outer wear jacket to the ship's tailor to repair the velcro that had come off the sleeve cuff, arranging seating at the sold-out Tamarind one night....they are miracle workers & smile throughout exchanges with some unpleasant sailors.
  12. Around 7:25 PDT. I heard a faint 'crack' & then very subtle shaking...we're in Bremerton, WA
  13. I felt it in Bremerton but hubby didn't - he was in the basement.
  14. The epidural steroid shots I got last Monday relieved my pain for about a day....I'm really disappointed. Going to start PT tomorrow & have a follow-up with the pain Dr's PA next Monday. The worst part of my issue is the spasms...I walk our dog .7 mile every day & walking doesn't seem to aggravate it but it's the getting up/down/in & out of the car that kills me.
  15. BINGO! that was the date! -- we were on the K.
  16. Out my window this morning....west of Seattle 20231006_070214.heic
  17. At least twice --- once before we were put in the serpentine line to get to the check-in area inside & then again after that encounter to be boarded....it was as if the staff were deaf.
  18. Except when they don't --- we were in a Neptune & CO for our cruise in February, 2023 & were just jammed in with the masses.
