Yes some things you said are accurate . Now let's look at the cruise lines experience . They know the passenger load & they also know how much has been used on past cruises of every item they serve . Therefore ,why are there shortages on so many items that people are complaining about ?

Agree 1000% . Yes there are good things about any cruise .I have never been on a horrible cruise ,who make the beds ,wash the dishes & make my meals . Then again ,the cruise lines must live up to their end of supplying the daily wants & needs of their clients /customers . Any land based restaurant who can not give their customers the meals they have been accustomed to receiving soon finds themselves loosing business

We were in the LA parking for B2B March Celebrity cruises . We saw the Discovery Princess . But parking in that huge lot was a night mare especially being handicapped My question is are there hotels with shuttles that we can stay one night pre cruise & that can take my electric scooter as well on the shuttle . If that were possible ,we would then drive from the San Diego area to take more cruises from the World Cruise Center TIA for any info

What happened in San Diego ? We live here & never had any problems with HAL's boarding times .However,that does not mean that there can not be a problem

Here in San Diego we have mo shortages of any thing we want to buy . Just can't comprehend why cruise lines have so many shortages . Certainly they can re stock in the ports they stop at ,if available at that port . This is a business & satisfying their customers wants is their business PS we all know what happens to business who do not meet customer needs & wants

Should there be a denial for priority boarding why not ask for a partial refund of the club Orange Fee as one of the perks was denied .It is the job of the cruise line to see this does not happen

FWIW ships always have a engine in reserve . When we visited the engine room there was 2 active engines and one in reserve

Hugh so what is the fuss about ? .Apparently some thing went off line to cause the power outage from the dry dock is what it appears to be

Where did you get that 25 minute time disruption is power? No time was mentioned got this power outage; because, if the outage was just 25 minutes then that is no big deal

That power outage would not be good for people in power scooters or wheel chairs because they all need the elevators for transport to & back to their cabins In over 90 cruises we have never been on a cruise ship that lost primary power . This ship is having lots of problems .Id she is going into fry dock they need to resolve this issue so it foes not happen again

All the problems that Holland America is casting on it's customers because of their top & bottom lines imo is disgraceful ,period!

Celebrity has no formal dress code except slacks & colored shirt for dinners .Shorts can be worn for dinner if eaten in the Ocean view Cafe .For breakfast & lunch shorts good any where in any restaurant .Can wear shorts in casino as well If you are into reading Celebrity has a large library

That is true .just that the op would get a pretty comprehensive picture from Hank's report .Especially since Hanks is a 5 star mariner .

Recomend that you read Hanks Japan & Korea cruise on this board sailing Westerdam ;which is the ship most likely you would be sailing .This will give you a even better idea of what to expect on HAL

If you are into broadway style shows then it is Celebrity for entertainment of all kinds .Holland America lacks the main shows on their World Stage Imo the food on Celebrity is better as well as service . Over all I would go with Celebrity

We feel that it be in your best interest to get your doctors clearance whether to take the cruise .If he says not to then have him write a letter to that effect so you can use the letter for reimbursement from your insurance carrier . So we wish you well & God's speed to complete healing

Yes I had for gotten the dips which I used bread sticks for thos dips . We were also able to special order the brown bread .It was truly to die for taste

As we all age(we are 83 & 84) insurance premiums keep rising. I don't want to pay 10 to 11 % of my cruise price especially when the price is $6500 for the cruise .By doing my own research & phoning Squaremouth.com .We find we can get excellent levels of medical & medical evacuation & luggage coverage for $185 in stead of over $600 .We will self insure the cruise itself Hopefully this helps all older cruisers. For just medical evacuation I seen a price as low as $99 for MedJetAssist

I do not know the why but ,I do agree that the MDR noise was much lower on Soltice than Koningsdam . Another thing was the bread was better on Soltice .Celebrity also had much more silverware on the table .They also had wine stewards

As long as your immune system is string enough to cruise then go . Ig not then I would definitely not chance it as cruise ships are petrie dishes. Best of luck .Hope it all works out for you
