  1. for my cruise it is a 200 dollar different for next year, final payment is not till April 2017.

i rather have them readjust my booking then get a obc later as the obc is useless for me as i prepaid everything

They adjust after boarding, because the price could go back up before sailing and then you would owe more and probably balk at having to pay more!

  2. You will receive a letter in your cabin about the chef's table - it will have instructions of where to meet - usually at 6pm - for champagne and then begin the tour of the galley. With the letter, instructions for calling to confirm your reservation. At this time, you will be asked about food allergies so the chef may be aware and prepare a separate item for anyone who has allergies. Just think of the evening as an excursion - lots of wonderful stories and information. We have been visited by one of the sous chefs in the MDR prior to the evening to ask about allergies as well - just depends on who has time. I have been three times and have two more scheduled - it is a wonderful experience.

  3. I am going in 27 days, so very interested in this thread. Due to the amount of money needed for excursions we are not doing a balcony for the first time in years. We have one of the French door interiors between two lifeboats. I really hope I don't regret no balcony. It is just me and my 13 yr old daughter seeing as husband hates flying, cruising and the cold. On the plus, I have always wanted to try one of these rooms.

You won't regret it! You will want to be on an upper deck with the naturalist where you can hear the stories and see what they are pointing out. I had an interior my first time and an obstructed view the second time and loved them both. We were always out on deck for great photo opportunities and wildlife sightings - you are limited in what you an see from your balcony and often times the whale sightings are on the opposite side of the ship from where you are - up top you an see all around you. The choice of an interior left funds for my son and his friend to helicopter ride to a glacier, and for my daughter and her friends to do a whale watching trip. We could not have afforded those without cutting corners somewhere and the cabin seemed the right place.

  4. The kids can eat with Camp Carnival that night. That is what we always do. They take the kids from the dining area in the Lido buffet to their evening activities. We drop them off with the counselors there. They usually have you meet at 6 for champagne and hors d'oeuvres. Then you are escorted to the dining area - on the Breeze it is in the actual kitchen.

  5. PRICE TAX TOTAL

    GUEST 1 $949.00 $222.58 $1,171.58

    GUEST 2 $949.00 $222.58 $1,171.58

found it on my 4th click - not hard at all - once you choose the room type, in the upper rt hand corner is a box with the total and it also says includes port fees and taxes of $....., just click on that and get the above screen.

  6. I know that having to chose a boarding time online is new but several of my past cruises, I received emails that said what time I should arrive for check-in. I like to get on the ship as early as possible so I always ignored the email and got to the cruise terminal around 10 - 10:30 and was allowed to check in. I guess too many of us ignored the staggered check-in requests.

Exactly! And I have now done the staggered check in in Galveston and it was sooooo much better. I was able to choose 10-10:30 - that time was still available up to 2 weeks before cruising - that was the last time I looked at it. We never even had to pause to get checked in and on board by 11:15am - we just continually went to each desk with no one waiting in line - so much different than our past Galveston cruises where the lines were enormous.

  7. Thanks for the reminder about booking this. I was waiting until the Vista launched to put in my reservation for my July 2017 chef's table - just did that now.

To the previous poster who had been told to do it on board: while it was true that you could wait and do that in the past, it has now become so popular that an early reservation is a must.

  8. I get on their website 5 or 6 times a day - every day. I always log on and shop around for cruises or check my account for other things. Not once did they ever call me.

This is true for me also. I check on my cruises, look for new ones, find things for friends - never once had a call - I now have a PVP, but that was not true for my first couple of years - no calls ever.

  9. The alcohol that you can purchase from bars before international waters must have been purchased by Carnival in Texas and have a TLBC liquor stamp on it - thus making it more expensive to the Carnival purchase agent. They have those bottles out until you reach international waters where they put all those bottles away for the next departure from Galveston and take out the liquor purchased for the whole cruise line and thus at a cheaper purchase price to Carnival. That transition takes the bar staff some time to complete thus the difference in the amount of time stated by individuals who believe that there is a magic spot where the bar is instantly flipped from one to the other.

  10. I think security can open the deadbolt rather easily.

I live in an apartment complex for folks over 55 years of age, and they have had to remove two doors recently because people went in, locked the deadbolt and then fell - oops! Doors had to be completely replaced after they were removed - too damaged to reuse.

  11. I always book in advance thru event planning. On our recent 4 day on the Triumph, they had the chef's table on two nights and had a waiting list of 9 who did not get to enjoy this fabulous time. SOOO - book as far ahead as you can.

  12. The trundle will be located under one of the twin beds and would most likely be set up against the wall lined up next to the regular bed. The sofa does not make into a bed - we just had one of these sofas in our cabin - the arms can be removed creating a very short small bed for a child instead of the trundle - the area where the arms can be removed is a very hard surface.

here is a video of the room:

  13. My cruise is not until November , anyone have any experience with ordering this far out. Just wondering if things may be out of stock by that time

    Thanks

I ordered the "boy" backpacks for my grandsons as well as the teen one for another grandson for a March cruise - the boy ones were discontinued - and were not substituted with anything else - we got a voucher for on board shopping for $25 for each boy - but there wasn't any similar substitute on board the ship - so we used it for build a bear.

  14. My question is this:

With the newly enforced boarding times in Galveston and the narrow walkway to enter the boarding area....my concern is all the ppl who will ignore their

boarding times and try to enter anyway.

This walkway is a small area & I am wondering how much chaos will ensue if they try to send ppl back thru the line that shouldn't have been entering the building.

Does anyone know what happens when someone tries to enter & its not their

    designated time?

Are they sent to an area inside the bldg. to wait or do they have to exit the way they entered and wait outside?

May be a strange question' date=' but this will affect the time we arrive at port.

We will arrive alittle early if needed.

    Thank you![/quote']

Just did a Triumph cruise and the folks are stopped a considerable distance from the terminal entrance - you must present your papers at that checkpoint to be allowed to enter the very spacious roped off area before entering the terminal. I had a 10:30 check in time and arrived at about 11:00am due to Houston traffic. Had no problem getting to the appropriate area and checking in.

  15. Thanks for the review of cabin 9259. I am booked in that room with hubby and 3 small grandkids. This is my 12th cruise but first time as an interior room. I thought the location to Lido with the kids would be great. The room does look a little smaller that I imagined but we don't plan to spend much time there. My grandkids are boys 9 and 8 and girl 5. The boys have cruised before but not my granddaughter. What excursions do you recommend for the kids in the 2 Mexico ports? They love to swim and snorkel.

We were just on the Triumph and my daughter's family had one of the interior cabins for 5. The lower beds were arranged under the bunks and there was a trundle bed under one of the lower twin beds that was pulled out at night and set up and then put away in the morning. She said they all survived fine in the room. Just kept everything put away - it was she, her husband and three sons (11, 6 and 3)

  16. We will be in the Dream in April with our 10 year old and 2 year old. I'm having a hard time finding excusions that can accommodate all of us. I want our older son to have fun and adventure, but the younger one isn't able to do a lot of that sort of stuff. I would hate to split up since its our first family vacation. In thinking of either Paradise Beach or Mr. Sanchos for Cozumel, but have no idea what to do in Montego Bay or Grand Cayman. Dolphins would be fun, but the little can't "swim" with them from what I understand. We live right on Lake Michigan and practically live on the sand in the summer so I'm worried beach days will get boring.

Any suggestions or reviews of encounters you have done with young children?

WE just did the Dolphin Encounter at Chankanaab thru Carnival with our 2y/o, 6 y/o and 11 y/o. They all loved it. They put life jackets on everyone. The 2 y/o got to pet, kiss, touch and give instructions to the dophin. They also all held parrots, snorkeled, swam in the fresh water pool and played in water fountains.
