Upgrade or upsell...this is an important difference.

UBP because I'm a drunk.

That isn't an accurate statement.
You don't get promos if you book an IX, OX, BX, or MX category. It has nothing to do with whether or not you book a guarantee. If you, for example, book a BD category as a guarantee, you still get to choose two (2) promos.
You can book a Balcony Guarantee that's not BX? News to me, but ok. I'm not a travel agent. My comment while it may be inaccurate for the situation you describe above is still a significant change they've made to these promos over time.

They have changed quite a bit over the last year IMO. For example, inside cabins couldn't get UBP as a perk at one point. Then for a while only got two if you were in balcony or higher. Also, now only in non-guaranteed cabins. For a while it was a goofy arcade credit and 50 photos. Sometimes 3rd/4th free.
It may seem tired and old for people who spend time on a message board and cruise more than once a year, but for the vast majority of their passengers it is effective and must be working or they would have scrapped it 5 iterations ago.

It's not a piano bar of the type you're asking about.

What is the worst thing that happens if you put departure day as his birthday instead of the next day?

I've been in the Baltic ports for a September trip (land based, not cruise) without issue. The answer is "it depends", but it's not going to be snowing or anything.

I used a travel agent, but yeah...I know this feeling. We have 8 cabins on a December cruise.

I honestly think NCL is playing a longer term game. They seem to be doing a very good job IMO of attracting younger people and younger families compared to some other lines with UBP promotions and such. I'm a yuppie I suppose and while this is anecdotal lots of my peers are interested and have booked cruises recently with their promotions they have out there. I suppose we all get older, but if NCL is doing well with this demographic they could capitalize on it long term and distinguish themselves from Royal Caribbean and Carnival.
I can't imagine ever being interested in the "old people" cruise lines, but I could see myself taking NCL cruises for a long time.

My guess is that NCL will start selling more and more of them as revenue producers - until that own little piece of paradise is almost as crowded as the rest of the ship.
Why they haven't upped the price on this significantly and started offering on NCL.com is beyond me.

What was that product? This is the first I've heard of a menu item at Cagney's that is not fully included in the SDP, even the most expensive ($39) steak.
I have ordered items at Cagneys with the upcharge, even for SDP, and not been charged. I imagine it's a YMMV situation. I assumed waiter entered differently to save me some money and tipped accordingly.

I'd love to have a boat in Houston again, I was disappointed none is returning this year. I'm not putting any stock in this announcement, but would be nice.

Serious Q...do you guys tip at dinner in specialty restaurants? That's one that I am always a little befuddled by when on the boat.
I'll often tip a dollar when grabbing drinks as I think it makes them even more responsive. I obviously tip dealers in the casino. I always let steward know my nephew loves the towel animals and because of that as well as a bit more mess from him I usually tip an extra $20-$40.

Put them in an inside, then you and the wife can "enjoy" yourselves.

I would recommend the OP come and sail out of Houston, but sadly they aren't sailing out of there. Boat full of friendly Texans, so different than the cruises I've taken out of Miami.

Calm down everyone...I'm just asking a question.
Wonder if they'll refund one day of the daily service charge [emoji6]

Have a family member joining us on an upcoming cruise who is having a very difficult time with their work schedule. It seems the only way they can join us is if they fly home from our last port stop, Cozumel. They would just miss a sea day (Day 6) and getting off the boat (Day 7).
I've read about people joining in-process cruises on here, but never anyone planning to disembark during a cruise. People are left behind all the time, but wasn't sure what the correct protocol is for this. For example, do you just get off the boat saying nothing and just don't return? Seems like one of those don't ask don't tell situations. Appreciate anyone's assistance with this question.

Check for any visa issues.
They would need a passport.
It's Mexico, no visa. They have a passport.

No, I would never want it to hold up ship or anything. Just trying to decide what the "right" process is.
