Thanks for the reply. I thought I read something to that end, but could not confirm it based on a read of the forum. I'll take a free cruise either way, but won't complain about something for "free" either.

I received an offer today for a free cruise voucher (Caesar's for NCL Cruise). My question is, are they giving any kind of NCL perks now with these free cruises (3x specialty dining, alcohol beverage plan, etc) like you would get if doing a standard booking?
There is no mention of any perks in the offer, but I'm curious if they are going to offer anything when I call to book. Thanks.

Any advice on what we can do on a budget? the ship excursions are so expensive! Saw that you can rent a car. Help please!
Not to be snarky, but in case you were unaware there is a ports of call forum for almost anywhere ships go, including Hawaii. It is a fantastic source of information and that forum along with TripAdvisor (additional reviews/pictures) can make each port stop easy to plan.

I wouldn't worry too much about a party crowd, that wasn't our experience. Unless "party crowd" means people drinking alcohol, in which case you should probably cancel the cruise as people are drinking everywhere.

Thanks for the review. Yep, as usual when it comes to bartenders, momey talks.
Yet another bad review of O'Sheehans. I am sorry to see this. I really thought I would be in there a lot due to the proximity to the casino.
My understanding is the Blackjack is a little better at the $25.00 level and even better at the $50.00 level. I sure hope so or I will be spending more time drinking and playing roulette.
The cheeseburger is fantastic. Seriously was impressed with that.

Agree with so much re: this epic review.
We thought Siglo was fantastic. They have a pretty wide catalogue as we also heard them play a lot of 80's and 90's rock as well including some killer Metallica solos. I too thought the other band you mentioned was just awful. Piano bar had three people, African American lady was awful but other two guys were great and had good chemistry. I wasn't a big fan of the Beatles, but honestly I'm not a huge Beatles guy and guys pretending to be the Beatles was a little too out there for me.
I missed The Waterfront area from the Away class ships. Also, I know this is a good thing but the ship has so many venues on my cruise (12/17) felt a little dead. There's only so many people looking to party in Spice, Piano Bar, Bliss, and Cavern Club haha. I missed the get togethers like on Jade where most everyone headed to say the Spinaker Lounge for nightly party.

Also, we saw cirque dreams and it is one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm a big Vegas guy and while it is not at the same level as shows there it is very close and reminded me a lot of a PG Absinthe, an extremely popular Vegas show.

No disrespect, but it seems like you were looking for problems from the onset (i.e. arriving at port SO early). Some problems you indicate are just bizarre, how can you complain about ports when you knew what you were booking. We were on your cruise, 12 people in 9 cabins, and had a wonderful time.
The only issue in your whole list I agree with is it was very warm for some reason the first day and the atrium is too busy, a common criticism. I was confused why they use the atrium for things like deal or no deal when those can and are done in the theater on other ships.
Not to go tit for tat, but your comments on disembarkation are way off. It was VERY smooth and they were well ahead of schedule. The porters did "cut" in line, but they only use a couple of the lines...NOT all of them. It was the best $20 we spent on the entire cruise.

No "chair hogging" is in the Western culture. It will all be empty on the Joy.
That wasn't the point, but either way...

I think NCL is right.
They are doing this with your interest in mind.
This ship is not suitable for you.
You will encounter many problems.
Start with the 99% local Chinese fellow pax. Crew speak some English with great difficulties. Food is almost all Chinese. Entertain may be only in Mandarin. Do I have to go on any further?
I completely agree in case my reply above was unclear. I've posted similar comments to yours in earlier pages.
Have any of you been to China? It's an incredible country you should visit, but they do things differently compared to the US or Europe. I can't imagine being on a cruise with 4k Chinese. Will make "chair hogging" seem polite.

No idea on cost, less than $100.
You return at the agency right by the port. I believe most people who were on their Breakaway port day (we were getting off Epic) we're going to return after hours and Uber back to port.

We were on the cruise after you. The African American lady at Howl at the Moon was just awful. Probably the worst I've ever seen.
The other guy and the one in your picture had a much better rapport.

This question is about the most subjective I've seen on here. It is 100% dependent on timing and where you're coming from.
Take a look at Google flights and can get a good idea.

Rental car. They will pick you up at port.

They're breaded...so what difference does it make?

There's a lot of posts on these, but I just got off Epic and stayed in one (three family members also stayed in one).
Overall the room is very well laid out with plenty of storage. Bathrooms are a little small if we're being honest.
I cruised during the holidays so many of the studio cabin people seemed to have friends/family on the boat. That being said, there were still solo get togethers that seemed active.

I just don't see any way this ship is going to be made available to non-Chinese passengers (i.e. on US NCL.com site). It's not on website, they aren't selling it on board, presenting it in future cruise presentations, etc.
FWIW, i just got off the epic and noticed a lot more Chinese crew than previous cruises. Seems they are certainly trying to staff it up with a local crew which is no surprise.

I've read a lot of wacky stuff on here, but this seems like pretty poor work on NCL's part. Having an expired visa from somewhere is fairly common among travelers. Did they not have proof of return somewhere in passport and that was the issue?

Two days via email.

You can get a larger passport when you apply though. Not the same as adding pages, but good to know.

I can't imagine getting my passport stamped unnecessarily. Just more PITA if you need to apply for visa, travel somewhere off the beaten path, etc.

This is not a cruise line problem. This is part of travel anywhere outside of the country. If you'd been at a resort in Belize for example it's doubtful you would get your favorite game. It's the way it goes...

Be a degenerate gambler, just being honest. There is nothing "free" about these cruises to be honest.
