  1. The Cathedral was St. Jordi. In English St. Geoge. So a sculpture of the dragon.
  2. We are now heading back towards the bus.Note the towers on this gate have been converted into apartments.
  3. There were several restaurants around the square offereing traditional Spanish food such as pizza, hamburgers and sushi. Two at the end of the menus had tapas.
  4. We were given some free time so I went for a walk. ] Note the sundial in the picture above. It was 2 hours out but one was daylight saving which wouldn't have existed when that was done. Although the towers look complete from outside it is a different story inside the walls.
  5. A little more of the main square before walking to the cathedral.
  6. Very quiet for holy week. But a market of cheap Chinese clothing in the main Square. Old ways of measurement in the days it was a real market.
  7. The main tourist feature is the walled and fortified old city.
  8. Fortunately the scenery improved outside the city. Then we arrived at Mountblanc.
  9. We were off to Mountblanc and the Poblet Monastery. It is not a very scenic city. but a long line of seafood restaurants near the fishing harbour and seafood market. Then you pass a few kilometres of petrochemical works.
  10. Thursday morning and we arrive in Tarragona. A large port area with the Cruise port quite a distance to the Port gate. No walking to and from the ship here. Several ships waiting offshore.
  11. When I first met Rojaan she didn't drink wine. But I had already started cellaring wine so things had to change. At the start she would only have sweet wines so the dinner wine of choice for her was Chateau d"yquem. But even a poorly paid medical intern in Australia who earn't just $A40 a week could afford to buy it for her. Fortunately I loved it and made sure there was plenty left for my desserts!
  12. I really couldn't care less what the "butlers" are called. We relate to them just the same as UK Cruise Jeff said he related to the stewards/stewardesses in the past. And we like that.
  13. Back to Atlantide. It is our favourite dinner venue.Sat next to 2 delightful divorced ladies. One was born in Adelaide but moved to the USA as a child the other a Canadian. Here the daily menu. The night's wines. Both good wines. Rojaan began with the beef tartare and caviar whilst I had the Tsar cut salmon which was excellent. I then had the poached pear salad again very good. For mains Rojaan had the salmon and I the beef Wellington. Both excellent. For desserts Rojaan had the pavlova and I the bluebery chocolate crumble. Both good.
  14. For lunch we went to Spaccanapoli for pizzas. Much better than pre covid. Rojaan had the Funghi Porcini and I the funghi E Salsiccia. Both very nice. Whilst we were lunching there were yacht races going on.
  15. Most of the walk was past a huge marina with lots of expensive yachts.
  16. Believe it or not this is a sculpture of a bull.
