Does anyone know... If a tour is full and there is no waitlist online, will Regent put you on a waitlist if you call?

"Luggage tags" and first impressions...
labonnevie replied to kstrittm's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Agree, kinda... Had this happen: had QR code for airline boarding passes on phone. The reader accepted my wife's but not mine! Quarter mile walk each way to counter to get paper boarding pass which, of course, worked. Technology is great. When it works. -
London to London cruise, I/12/204
labonnevie replied to Dolebludger's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
So how are things settling in on the Splendor? Inquiring minds want to know! Especially since we board in 17 days. -
I fervently hope you are correct. “All inclusive, tipping is neither required nor expected” is a major reason we cruise Seabourn and Regent.

London to London cruise, I/12/204

Who is the cruise director? Will they be on after you depart? Please do your best to train the staff. We board September 2nd. Thanks. 😊 -
WiFi at Mediterranean Cruise Terminals
labonnevie replied to MissPhoeb's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
In the past I have connected to free port wifi from my veranda. But you certainly can not depend on that. (What side of the ship are you on versus the dock, where is the actual terminal building versus your docking spot, etc.) If you can find a public space close to the terminal, that may work as well. You usually can get off the ship and walk into the terminal building and get on the wifi. You’ll see a lot of the crew doing this. Have done this several times. -
Pre cruise Tokyo Hilton Hotel question
labonnevie replied to bebop bonnie's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We used the 7-11 in the basement for lunches. Lots of variety to choose from. Not like a 7-11 in the states at all. -
Pre cruise Tokyo Hilton Hotel question
labonnevie replied to bebop bonnie's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We found both the Chinese and Japanese restaurants in the Hilton to be very good. The tours to Asakusa, Meiji shrine and Hamarikyu gardens were very good, the others not so much. In retrospect, we would have done better with a private guide. -
One time we had too much OBC at the end of the cruise so we found the sommelier and bought two very nice bottles of wine. They made it home just fine in our luggage to be used for later anniversary celebrations.

We have taken a bottle of our favorite liquor off the ship in order to have a before dinner cocktail at our hotel when we are staying in the disembarkation port city. It’s part of the process of weaning ourselves off the great life onboard!

Agree, I have never understood why Seabourn insists on continuing this silly policy. It would be so easy to change and would result in happier customers. Regent has no trouble doing it the right way.

Regent unable to provide Reykjavik hotel and transfers
labonnevie replied to DaveA's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Glad we have been to Rekyavik, in 2011, doesn’t look like we’ll be returning. Spent the day touring with a former high school exchange student, from the early 1960’s and his wife. It was a terrific, memorable day. -
US Flights to Capetown and Retrun from Dubai to US.
labonnevie replied to bohaiboy's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We flew Emirates bc Dubai to LAX after our Regent cruise in December. It was $1600 pp upcharge. It was also the longest (16 hours) and best flight we have been on. The limo service in Dubai and LA worked flawlessly. -
Shark b8, I am sorry to hear that you have embarked on yet another adventure. Now I am going to have to allocate several additional minutes from an already packed schedule to read each of your postings every day. Unfortunately, I am unable to ignore them. Thanks for disrupting my schedule once again!

One of my best excursions ever was the helicopter tour landing on Mendenhall Glacier with a hike on the glacier. Crampons and poles provided. Absolutely awesome! I took this tour through Regent, but it is available from a number of independent tour companies in Juneau.

When is Seven Seas Society Night?
labonnevie replied to Low Country Sandlapper's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
To be more specific, we had miso sea bass twice on the Navigator last fall (also lobster tempura) by requesting it in advance. They were all delicious. Note: Navigator does not have a Pacific Rim restaurant. -
When is Seven Seas Society Night?
labonnevie replied to Low Country Sandlapper's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
You can also request that dish (and many others) a day in advance and have it any night you wish. -
We have done both, book ourselves and book through Regent. Sometimes we can do better than the air credit. We fly from LAX. We have never had an issue with Regent booked flights other than a missed flight in Brisbane due to too short of a connection. I should have caught it when I reviewed the flights provided at time of booking. Now when we book flights through Regent we always deviate and provide them with our preferred flights.

Navigator - Restaurant Offerings?
labonnevie replied to czardas's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Two or three times on our November Navigator cruise, we asked (a day or two in advance) for a Pacific Rim dish for our main course in CR. Lobster tempura was just as good as in PR. -
Ticketing for international flights
labonnevie replied to chelseabelsea's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
She can. I’m just waiting for Regent to ticket so she can tell me what the SAS charge is for seat assignments before the 30 hour point. -
Ticketing for international flights
labonnevie replied to chelseabelsea's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
For our September Splendor cruise, SAS won’t assign bc seats until 30 hours before departure without an upcharge. Has to be ticketed as well. First time we have run into that. -
Before we booked Regent’s air inclusive fare we always checked to see if we could do better. Usually, traveling east we couldn’t and took the air included price. Occasionally, traveling west, we could and we made our own air arrangements. I guess that is still the approach we will take.
-
I wonder then if I fly from the west coast (LAX) to Japan or Asia or Australia, if I will see subtract from charge?
-
Easy solution. Get back on the ship.

A jacket is actually more functional than a sweater. Too hot, take it off. Too cool, put it on. Unless you’re a Mister Roger’s kind of sweater guy.
