  1. We have the Plus Package on our 7 day cruise on the Ruby out of Galveston on 2/12/23. I wanted to upgrade to the Premium. Website personalizer says to contact princess. Try chat…they want to charge me $4600. Try calling, wait 30 mins on hold, guy has no idea. Puts me back on hold. No one comes back. Try chat again. Am told that it is $20 per person per day…so that’s $280. He keeps trying to re-fare the cruise and comes up with all sorts of wild amounts to charge me. Ends up saying I have to pay the port fees and taxes again and buy the Princess insurance which I can remove later. WHAT?!?! So after 4 hours, instead of an upgraded drink package we have nothing. Someone at Princess also changed my sister in law’s birthdate after she had uploaded all her passport info and was in the green lane. Now she cannot log into the website to see her booked excursions or spa appointments. Her app works after 2 hours on phone with Princess, but unable to access anything on website. what the actual heck?!?!

I already posted this in the roll call for 2/12/23 Ruby sailing out of Galveston, but, if someone is not on the roll call, this could be some very important info to have if you are sailing out of Galveston on 2/12/23. There are road closures due to parades from Friday through Sunday. Sunday embarkation day has road closures near the port for a 1pm parade. Parade at 1pm means roads closed much earlier than that. If you are arriving early to Galveston, be aware of the closures, it it may impact you. http://www.mardigrasgalveston.com/parades-3/
  3. As a suite guest, did you participate in the suite breakfast (usually held in Sabatini’s every morning)? You can pretty much order anything you want for breakfast if you let them know a day ahead. We had a standing order for lobster omelettes every day.
  4. Where did you go on Grand Cayman that was a dump? We love Grand Cayman and go there quite often. I have never heard anyone refer to GC as a dump.
  5. I had the ‘rona a couple weeks ago (husband had it and passed it to me) and my doctor (in USA) prescribed paxlovid to me. Picked it up at CVS. I have had some pretty good bouts with bronchitis in the past. My ONLY ‘rona symptom was a runny nose. No fever, no low oxygen, no chills, no body aches, nothing. In fact there was no charge for it.

  7. Enchanted Princess 10/7/23 US citizens Arrive Italy (embark), visit Greece, Turkey, Greece (debark) Where can I find out if any Visas are required? Everything I read is so full of if/or/then with multiple if’s that I cannot figure out if any Visa is needed for any part of the trip. I know I do not need one to arrive in Italy, but then we go Greece (Schengen), Turkey (not Schengen?), Greece. I am very confused.
  8. I have been getting this message on the Princess website for a couple month…desktop, iPad, iPhone…doesn’t matter. Logged out, logged back in. I am not meant to look at any more cruises. 😹

  10. Tried booking a suite on Regal out of Galveston in February 2024. It said $1 deposit on the first page, then when I got to the room selection the deposit changed to $200.00 deposit.
  11. Does the Plus package include brewed coffee as well? I didn’t see it specified in the description.

  14. Did I miss a change in the Covid testing rules for Greece? I believe previously the Princess website indicated if your cruise was going to be visiting Greece, you needed a negative test to board the ship. I was just reviewing the Covid info on the Princess website. The only thing listed for Greece now is if your cruise is departing from Greece you need a negative test. Nothing about visiting Greece or getting off the ship in Greece. Am I reading this correctly?
  15. We had a standing order for lobster omlettes with Swiss cheese topped with avacado slices every morning. You can pretty much have anything you want if you can let them know a day in advance. You can even specify a time. I might try steak (filet) and eggs next time! 😉
  16. We have never gone to a show, usually eat in a specialty restaurant or on our balcony and have only hung out at adult only pool area. Always have a fantastic time. 😬
  17. The rules for Greece are confusing. Cruise starts in Italy and visits Greece and also ends in Greece. You still need to have a negative PCR test within 3 days of departing Italy? There would be no way to get an in person test while on a cruise. Is this correct?
  18. We booked some excursions for our October 7, 2023 cruise about 3 weeks ago.
  19. So it turns out there was some credit card glitch…I must have transposed numbers. Don’t know how I didn’t get a notice that there was an issue, I just happened to notice that the booking info showed no payment made. Website wouldn’t let me pay…error message. I called in and they processed it over the phone. It is now showing in the app. Yay! 🎉🎉🎉

  21. I searched, but had no results…we have booked 2/12/23 on the Ruby. I have this cruise on the App. We have also just booked for 10/07/23 Mediterranean. I feel stupid, but I don’t see a way to add this to the Medallion App. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Thank you…

  23. Does anyone know if your cruise needs to be fully paid in order to book an excursion? 2/12/23 Ruby out of Galveston. Excursions are now listed for this cruise, but I get an error msg when I try to book. I am wondering if it is because the cruise is not paid in full, or is there a glitch. thx!
  24. Well what happened was… I saw an identical cabin on our cruise at a lower fare. I emailed our cruise planner to ask if we could have some OBC instead of rebooking. she said she didn’t see the lower fare, could I send her what I was seeing, so I did. She said the website was showing discounted fares that it would not allow you to book. I did not try to book the lower fare until it was brought to my attention. Sure enough, you can’t book it…just get an error. She did offer me some extra OBC if I wanted to book the cabin that was the same as ours under the current drink package/WiFi/tips rate. I don’t drink enough to make the drink package worth while, so we kept our original cabin. She was very nice and I appreciated her offer.
