My sister and BIL have just returned from a driving holiday in NZ. Both got Covid. They were able to get antivirals free in Dunedin and isolated there. Thought they may have picked it up on a local cruise to the sounds.

Hope your health improves and we look forward to more of your humor and knowledge.

Seen them on Holland America local cruises.

Checked out some reviews on Bob Woods Tour groups. All reviews were excellent and the company is regularly used by cruise companies.

Sorry Les that your news is not better. Keep up the good fight. We are thinking about you.

Latest news on Aussie firefighters going to Canada.
The Australian and New Zealand firefighting personnel have been briefed and are now deploying to fires across Alberta, Canada. The #NSWRFS incident management team is currently based at the Alberta Wildfire Martin Fire Base and has integrated with Canadian and American personnel. Our team will bolster this international incident management team, allowing the Canadians to get some much needed rest over the coming weeks. 🇦🇺🇨🇦

Have had the staff sing for both of us on our birthdays and anniversaries every time they occurred on our Hal cruises. Always enjoyed it. Especially when they brought a cake and a bowl of ice cream for me as well.

ABC news just stated “around 100 covid cases aboard”.

Les, thinking of you reminded me of this song.
“I get knocked down but I get up again
you’re never going to keep me down”
Stay strong.- 4

Here in Greenwell Point we have copped it again. Lucky I live on a high spot but I can’t gat out because of local roads flooding. Good that I am well stocked and don’t need anything. Plenty of food and wine.

Good afternoon my friends, well I have been AWOL on here for two weeks, been on a downer, all these events hit me, mothers day, wife's 2nd anniversary of passing, wife's birthday, 50th wedding anniversary, so been munching on Prozacs.
Anyway, getting better and my family have pushed me back into cruising, I was not going to do anymore, so finally I got some some domestic cruise travel insurance from 1Cover at a decent price, $238.20, disclosed my conditions with a supporting letter from my GP.
So Uncle Les has deposited a mighty $99 deposit on HAL's Westerdam, 23 November 2022, 'South Australia Discovery Cruise, 13 days, Sydney - Eden - Port Arthur - Hobart (overnight) - Adelaide (overnight) - Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island - Melbourne - Phillip Island - Sydney. Lashed out on a Balcony Cabin and HAL is fairly decent, not doubling the twin share price for a solo occupant. I reckon the loading is about 50% for sole occupancy. They also gave me US$200 obc, buys a few vinos. #My daily rate for cruise is AU$355, bit pricey yes, but that's life travelling solo.
I have only done 1 HAL cruise prior - on Noordam, sister ship of Westerdam, to Honolulu mid 2019, I liked HAL and the Vista Class ship.
So that is the news folks.😀
Looks like we have too much alike. My May is the same as yours except for anniversary of passing dates where mine wife’s is 3 months later. Her birthday today. A s**t month. Thanks for wine.

Price for Noordam Christmas and New Year cruise 16 days. Cheapest balcony. I know I could have found a cheaper cruise if not over the holiday period but that is the time I wanted to be away. My pre-existing are for multiple heart complaints and one unsolved coma period. They don’t like that. Age 74.

Got a quote from Covermore today. Aged 74 and with pre-existing health problems. This was for a 16 day cruise to NZ. Quote $1548. Yes and there are excess payments for Covid claims. Now I just have to decide if I really want to cruise as a single. Cheapest solo price for a verandah $7500.

Agree with Aus Traveller, October is definitely the best time for a circumnavigation. Done it a couple of times. Even then heat and humidity can still be high up north but better than summer cruising.

Robertson pie shop reviews have been sliding. Not impressed recently. Hayden’s Pies still good. Definitely stop there when going down the coast. Mogo pie shop just south of Batemans Bay also worth trying.
