  1. When I saw these I thought they were for diamond members or GS - how much are they to rent ? I don't think I would because I can just sit at the tables that are right next to it but I was curious about the price.

I think they are like $150 a day, which is steep. However. We have a $400 obc, and some comp dining, so we may use it on that. It's nowhere near as nice as NCL's vibe, which was amazing and sold out in about 5 minutes.

  2. It's nice and quiet up there, plenty of loungers, very few people, plenty of towels, an outdoor shower, a large dispenser with cold water and cups, at the top of the stairs. Occasionally a bar server will come up to the sun suite deck. Usually before I go up there, I'll tell a bar server that is walking around at the pool to stop by in a little while and I've also caught the attention of a bar server from below and asked him to come up.

Nice! Thinking about bumping up to grand suite, from JS. Main motivation for this is concierge lounge access and the suite sun deck.

    Get ready for more bins.

If the tediousness of airport security riles you up, you might want to take a seat for this news, as more changes to the screening process could be on the way. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Transportation Security Administration plans to change policy around baggage screening. Specifically? The new rules would include requiring travelers to remove all food and electronics larger than cell phones from carry-on bags and move them into separate security bins, similar to how laptops are currently screened.

At present, the measures are being tested at ten U.S. airports including Los Angeles International, Boston's Logan International, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, with plans to eventually expand the policy nationwide after screeners have been fully trained. The agency said it had no immediate plans to roll out the new screening procedures at all airports, according to the New York Times. PreCheck passengers will not be affected.

Despite the flood of news surrounding potential policy change, TSA officials say these new screening procedures have been in the works for two years, and are unrelated to the recent electronics ban; rather, they are part of continuously developing counterterrorism and efficiency efforts. Given that passengers are packing their carry-ons to the brim, TSA officials say, it can often take longer to discern what's a threat—and what's not. By removing items from bags, the agency says, its screeners can scan items more quickly and reduce the number of manual bag checks.

I don't really have a problem with any of this. I'd rather this than my plane get blown up.

  4. Bob was correct, it is for every night of the sailing. Here is the "fine print" from our cruise planner. We purchased this for our cruise coming up this weekend.

"Savor the savings with the Ultimate Dining Package – a Cruise Planner exclusive! For one low price, you can enjoy dinner at our specialty restaurants every night of your sailing. And as an added perk, you’ll also get to eat lunch in our specialty restaurants on sea days.

Simply select your dining party and your preferred dining time and a courtesy dinner reservation will be made on your behalf in a pre-selected restaurant. On Day 1, you will receive your reservation confirmation in your stateroom. If you would like to amend or to complete your additional dinner reservations, you can visit one of our Hospitality Desks or any specialty restaurant.

For restaurants with a la carte pricing, you’ll receive a $50 food credit.*"

    Hope this helps! :)

Thank you. Does it include Chef's Table? Also, how easy is it to switch around the restaurants if you don't like the order of nights they give you for each one?

  5. I recently booked a balcony on the Anthem to Bermuda leaving on September 23, 2017 and see there is a new promotion for kids 12 and under sail free. Does anyone know if there will be tons of kids in September during this promotion? I don't mind kids but try to avoid the times when there are tons (done Spring Break when my kids were younger and never again!)

We are on this cruise too. My gf and I are 33 and 31. There won't be many kids on this cruise, which is one of the reasons we went with this date. It's a great time to cruise, and it is still summer hot in Bermuda at this time of year.

  6. We just got back yesterday from a beautiful 5 night cruise on Anthem of the Seas. Me, wife and 2 1/2 year old. This was our first time on a Quantum class.

Overall, I highly approve of the design, layout, activities, dining for the most part, etc.

    Day 1.

We live about 45 minutes away from Cape Liberty so we left for the port at 11:45 and were checked in and on the ship by 1pm with our room ready. I didn't like the check-in in process.

Not because it took long but rather looked disorganized. There were lets say 10-15 RC Reps holding an Ipad spotted at odd and random locations. Some outside, some inside.

What that created was these multiple little pods of disorganized lines on who was next to speak to the Rep and check-in. I prefer the check-in process you do in Florida ports. No confusion.

We found a rep with small group around her and checked in with her. Some pods had 15 or more huddled around waiting. Again, thought it looked very disorganized.

Also a first, no SeaPass card at check-in, you hold onto your SetSail Pass to board and make any purchases like drink packages and such with it.

Since we got onboard shortly after 1pm our room was ready so we headed there first. Wedged into our room number sign was a cardboard envelope containing our SeaPass cards.

We had a balcony room on the 11th floor, 11700.

We were very happy with the room and especially the bathroom. Nice improvement on the bathroom design. Felt more spacious, especially the actual shower.

I didn't take a picture of that. Another first, the refrigerator is not pre-loaded with drinks. There is a check-off menu on the dresser.

You then checkoff what soft drinks you would like delivered to your room to have in your fridge, if any and hang it outside your door.

After a nice lunch at the Windjammer we went back to the room and headed down to Two70 where our muster station was. Ya know the drill.

After the muster, we sat and hung out to let the rush of people go and die down. Good thing. They played 2, 10-15 minute shows on those moving screens. Very cool.

    Stay tuned for more.
