  1. Hi All- Does anyone have any photos/videos of two bedroom grand suites on the Mariner, Navigator, Explorer, Adventure or Voyager? We just booked one on the Mariner, and are interested in seeing the layout from people who have photographed it or video taped it. Please note this is the two bedroom grand suite, not one bedroom. There are already plenty of videos/photos of the one bedroom grand suites, but doesn't seem to be anything out there about the two bedroom. Have already looked at the layout photo on the RCI website. Thank you!

  2. Also looking at those deck plans, no flowrider or changes to the sports deck...so of course its a website glitch. They haven't posted the deck plans after the refurb...or thought they did but didn't. Either way, those are all but dead. Dragon's Lair will be rooms/specialty dining and Connoisseur Club will be internet/library I'm guessing...to make room for more rooms in those areas.

That's too bad, those two places are my favorite. However, I know everything is $$ driven, and cabins and internet cafe will bring in more money than the night club and cigar lounge. With everyone using mobile devices now, I would think internet cafes would start to be phased out.

  3. The Mariner is a great ship, younger sister to the Explorer, and will have quite a few "enhancements" added before you sail. I would pick the Mariner over the Sky, but as Zach suggested, add the drink package to the cabin price, subtract the $150, and see how the prices compare.

Yeah, that is what I am going to do tonight. I sort of want to take a break from Royal and try NCL. However, the age of the Sky & Sun are sort of a turn off.

  4. You can add a drink package on Royal Caribbean...I think it's normally about US$55/day but is often on sale. You can re-do the math with that in mind to figure out how the prices work out.

I've never personally been on any of those ships but, as a bachelor party connoisseur, I know how important the all-you-can-drink aspect is.

Truth, we will add it for sure. Our TA is also giving us a $150 per cabin OBC, which is very appealing.

  5. We are looking to do a 3 day cruise for a bachelor party. There will be 8-10 of us, 2 people per cabin, all balcony staterooms. We are going Columbus Day weekend, and looking to do a 3 night cruise to Bahamas. The options are RCI Mariner (have been on Explorer as a group and loved it), RCI Enhancement, NCL Sun and NCL Sky.

Mariner is the cheapest, followed by Enchantment, then the two NCL's. The perk to NCL is the free booze package. Those of you who have done something like this, which do you think would be best? We are all in our late 20's and early 30's, and like to party (not loud obnoxious partying, more of listening to music, dancing, hitting up the casino, drinking, etc.)

  6. Not sure if one can still smoke cigars in that lounge or not. I don’t smoke.

I only smoke on cruises, and even then it is just a cigar or two. If they don't remove it, then chances are you can still smoke cigars in there. We did it on Explorer back in 2015 (I think that year). Having a dedicated smoking lounge helps alleviate people smoking in places they shouldn't, or near doorways outside.

  7. Thank you Alakegirl that is what I thought. He doesn't want to wear long sleeves since we'll be in the Caribbean

It’s a dress up night, probably best to wear a button down shirt. It’s one night, he’ll be fine.

  8. It's easy to reserve your lounger. Just get there early in the day, pick your spot, plop down a rumpled pool towel, and paperback or magazine, an old flip flop and you're all set. You can hold your spot until you return from a shore excursion or whatever. At least this is what was allowed on the Millenium last month.:o

That’s a really crappy thing to do. No offense, but if your stuff was on your chair all day and you hasn’t come back, I would take it off and bring it to the deck attendants. For all you know they came and got it Bc they noticed it were gone all day. If there were plenty of chairs it would be fine, but there aren’t.

  9. The MSC Divina appeared on season 2 of Might Cruise Ships, which airs on the Discovery Channel (Smithsonian in the U.S.) I love this show, and in my opinion, it is one of the best episodes they have done. I especially like how they have a Cigars under the Stars night, and the Captain attends! Just something you don't get anymore on American cruise lines. Worth the watch if you have time.
